How do you make your watermarks in Illustrator the way you do? I wish the other site that had the other cubits didn't lose the site. I sure would like to have shown you the link. I think they had the stealth viper on one of the other dollar bills. I think I saw them on etsy or pinterest back then.

I usually just draw them and use a blend mode like overlay. As far as the security strips go they have a gradient and a overlay or soft light blend mode depending on the color. I was planing on doing a back for this one with Cain as the portrait but never did. Maybe I'll revisit it.

Will ok after doing more practicing doing what you said doing a gradient and soft blend it only works if you have an item that has a fill to it. I guess Im not making myself more clear. If you look at the dollar bills you made like on the BSG dollarson the back of the 1000 behind the #1000 you have the decorative watermark lines. But Im trying to do those squiggly lines in the background that fade into the paper. And after trying to do a gradient and soft blend. It doesn't work. The gradient tries to give my pen stroke lines a weird looking fill before it does the soft blend. Yet thats not what I want I want to just blend the decorative squiggly lines into the watermark lines and the gradient doesn't work on just the pen stroke lines. Thats what Im having troubles doing. For the soft blend only works if I do a square or circle with a fill and it blends but not a stoke line. Thats what Im having troubles with. How did you do your pen stroke lines into watermark lines? Thanks

Ok I thought you were asking about how to do the engraving effect. The squiggly lines are simple blends of lines with a zig-zag filter blended to a line with zero opacity. It's usually 3 or 4 lines blended with each line having different zig-zag settings and colors. You can also add a dashed effect to a line to get and interesting effect like on my new Putin bill. No gradients were used but with new versions you can apply a gradient to a stroke.

I love your artwork. Wish I could make water marks like that using my Illustrator when I try they dont look like yours do. Great work
But I am curious. did you make any others like this? And what about the backside of this cubit bill. Since this is the Pegasus did you use Apollo or Cain as the figure head on the other side?
I saw some on another site that is no longer active I guess. Where someone did some like this for like a $1, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100 and $500. Did you do those too?

I did 3 of them. I started but never finished the back of the Pegasus mainly because I didn't have a good pic of Admiral Cain. I might finish it someday because I started to create some flags of all the colonies. If you have a link for the others I'd like to see them.

Wow, it's awesome!
Would you let me print some for my wallet?
(Also, is there Pegasus' backside anywhere?)

Sorry I never made a backside version. I started one but never finished because I couldn't get a good portrait of Cmdr Cain. I can make a print available for the front if you want.

I presume the notes serial number signifies a date, so that would be November 25, 1987.....I can not find any reference to battle Star Galatica and that date, so i am curious what am I missing regarding that date?

Ah, Figured that might be after I asked.....I presume the serial number on the 100 Cubit note is your birthday then.

What typeface is it that is used for the "Gold Certificate" wording in gold at the upper right? Love that script....

Your Galactica currency designs are very cool. I wonder if there is a printing ship in the RTF.

I guess you could call it a "starbuck"
(drumroll)
Forgive the awful joke...
Anyways,I love the small details only BSG fans would get.
My favorite it the "In Gods we Trust" at the bottom.
That's wicked

That reminds me to link to you for the original art. I originally sent an email to the site/forum that had this posted for the author info but never got a reply. I assume this render is yours since I saw the SAS logo on it.

Awesome work! One lil thing though, wasn't Pegasus designated bsg 63?

I thought that too but checked with the BSG forums and my DVDs. It says BSG-62 right on the DVD unless there are two Pegasus Ships. I still see a lot of logos on the web that say 63 though.
