Description Edit/Update Character Reference: I found the perfect real life artistic inspiration/reference for the post-growth spurt build and height for Duncan: 7'2" Dutch body builder, Oliver Richters .  Also a good height comparison between Oliver and another considerably 'normal height' man

I blame both   and   for inspiring me and I was up till like 5 in the morning filling page after page with sketches and this is just the first series out of several more....  Having a good time and considering how down in the dumps I've been, that's a good thing! ^_^

My desk, the floor, and me are all littered with eraser shavings... I regret nothing.

Duncan is biting his lip so hard to keep himself from screaming that he's bleeding.. Poor fella. Things are getting more gruesome and Freakazoid is like ⊙▃⊙ !!!! He really wishes there was something he could do for Duncan, but this kind of transformation is really beyond his control.

Duncan grew from his average height of 6'3" to a signficant 6'8".. and now, in an upcoming series of drawings detailing the growing pains of the permanent transition of Duncan becoming Anubis's full height of 7 feet and this last growth spurt is a grueling one. But hey, at least once it's done, he won't have to worry about being in pain when transforming to God-Form and back.. Now he just has to deal with the challenges of being really tall full-time... Heh. I love gritty transformations and tall people ತಎತ.

...more to come...

I'm with Freak, that sounds painful as fuck! 😖

Just looking at what Duncan's going through is making MY back hurt! 😫

Are you sure he is going to end being 7 feet tall? Because it looks like he's growing more than 4 inches...

Will there be a 7th part?

btw, thank you for commenting. I get very little of it these days so any response is something I cherish. Thank you so very much. ^_^

...as for the 7th part, yes, there will be a followup to this. I just need to shake my self-doubts and get back to the drawing board, which is easier said than done. As for the height, I've never really set that in stone yet and haven't really decided how tall Anubis should be in this particular situation/story. I just sort of guesstimated 7 feet. ...I could also just make this easier and edit it in Photoshop to make it look a little less dramatic in growth. Like I said. I was a little carried away in "the feels" of the moment and wasn't really thinking at the time, but as I've had time to contemplate what I'm doing with the character and also spending more time staring at my art, it bugs me too. If you have ideas, your feedback would be most welcome. ^_-

I think you shouldn't edit your pics, they're great this way. An edition lowering his height will reduce the story from "annormal and painful alteration" to "a pretty big and late growth spurt".

Maybe should change the canon and set Annubis' height to something higher (7'6"? 8'?). Or you could make the extra growth like a part of the story: the god went too far accidentally... or he increased the Duncan over Annubis' mark because his god form is evolving too...

Or you can just say the unnacurate height is a artistic dramatization and let it go. But I think erase that with photoshop is a bad idea.

I may have gotten a little carried away in the process of drawing that...

This makes me think of a werewolves change from human to wolf or visa versa. The breaking of bones and muscles and re-knitting of muscles and bones must be insanely painful.

this is almost too painful to watch but you have to watch anyway... its like a train wreck but an awesome one if that makes sense

I totally understand. I figured the logical reason why the second half of Duncan's transformation is taking longer and going at odd rates between varying body parts is because Anubis realizes a little too late that in his impatience, he rushed it too much and is taking more energy than he anticipated and while he does have an insane amount of power- he now has a physical body to care of. I mean, that energy has to come from somewhere and I'm sorry, you don't endure a physical transformation like that and not be effected by it.. This means that a body burns the energy to create new bone/sinew/muscle mass and it takes a toll... (when it comes to things like this, even in fiction, I try to take as much of a realistic/logical approach to things as I can to make the story believable). Anubis is pushing it through to the finish, but he's going to be seriously drained and quite ravenous once he's done. Freakazoid would know right away that he'd need to replace all the calories/energy he spent, that his blood sugar is low when Duncan starts to fade in and out of consciousness. Freak probably starts with holding his head up to get him to drink orange juice for the quick energy/sugar rush (I know a lot of diabetics, so OJ or any kind of juice, like Apple Juice, are good at bringing dangerously low blood sugars back up in a hurry). Duncan probably tries to get up, but would immediately start to sway and Freak is like, "Oooh no ya don't! You lay back down!"
