Description
Okay, I dunno why but I really have a soft spot for the villain Long Horn. Maybe it's because he reminds me of Hellboy and I've always wondered what Long Horn looks like under the mask. SO, as you can see, I kind of took creative liberties and imagined him having ears and hair kind of like how Hellboy styles it.He's rather handsome (at least that's how I feel, I might just be weird)
I haven't decided if I want this guy to be Good or Evil in "Integration". I do know that I'm leaning toward the side of good, possibly as a friend of Royce's (aka Cave Guy) or something...
Tell me what you guys think? You interested in seeing this guy have a bigger role in the story at some point?
My muse won't leave me alone so..yeah... big favor. Tell me what you think!

lol! I'm the same way...sometimes by fingers can't keep up with my brain and well you get those silly typos . haha I didn't know that they intentionally made him sound like Johnny Cash, that's pretty cool!
Can't wait to see what the final role for Jubal is!

It would be interesting to see what type of dynamic he could bring to the Good guys side. If he has Hell Boys personality there could be some fun blow ups between him and Duncan.

he may seem like Hellboy but his thick southern drawl mirrors that of the famed Arkansas-born singer and song writer, Johnny Cash. Funny thing is, that similarity was intentional! During his creation, the Freakazoid! staff actually admitted that he was a bit of a spoof on 'ol Johnny. haha. I can see him coming to blows with Duncan XD *snickers* It's certainly be interesting. Long Horn has super strength on his side while Duncan's shield/energy powers.. well.. yeah, it's be interesting indeed to see who comes out on top of some of those scuffles.
But yeah, admittedly, there is a certain similarity in temperament regarding Long Horn and Hellboy. I haven't decided yet on what Long Horn, aka Jubal Nixon's role is in "Integration". Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Niiiiice One thing I always wondered about Longhorn though... the guy said specificaly in his background thing that Jubal had a docter turn him into a steer... a steer is a castrated bull >.< I don't know many guys that would willingly give up their jewels just so the police wouldn't chase him anymore. not that it worked anyways =/ So, if he has a bigger part in your story, he wouldn't have children, right? At least not children directly related to him.

oh, and another thing.. those origins for Jubal and Cobra Queen were probably just silly things they threw into the cartoon to make it funny but I sincerely doubt they're true only because later episodes/explanations in season 2 completely contradict earlier information in season 1. So, yeah. Like I said, it's really nothing to take to heart so I'm taking a great deal of creative liberty on some of the characters.

Yeah, I kinda wondered about some of those contradictions. Made me sad I mean, the show had so much potential, but they kinda wasted it in the end =/ It made me feel like even the writers didn't take the show seriously in developing it.

honestly, the story COULD have been better but they had a lot of fun doing it. The real reason the show failed was because of ratings. The original idea had been to reach a fan base of children but so many of the jokes and references were from a much older time period that most kids just didn't get. Teenagers and Adults were watching the show. Also, scheduling issues for the show was another reason why it ran into the ground. They kept changing the times it aired to a point that no one knew when it was on. So really, if we have anyone to blame for the failure of Freakazoid! is network itself.

I heard about that. It just seems to me like something that could have easily been fixed, yet they didn't.

yes. I must agree. they should have fought harder for the series but they just didn't.. and now I'm trying to rectify that by broadening the storyline into something adult and a good bit darker. However, there is still comedy and silliness. I'm having loads of fun planning this story out. I really REALLY appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts. I don't get much feedback as it is so it's really encouraging me that you are expressing your thoughts. Reminds me that all that I've done so far has been worth the effort. Where all my other stories have failed, "Integration" is a labor of love I intend to preserve and persevere.

Hey, no problem ^_^ I'm actually writing my own Freakazoid story on fanfic.net. I only put the first chapter here on Dev, but I'm up to ch. 10, and working on 11. I actually found Integration on here a few days after I put my story online. And the other writer who is serious about her Freakazoid story doesn't get on dA very often, so I don't think she's read this yet, but we talk and through out ideas and such all the time.
I know that some people don't like having their stories picked apart though, so I wasn't sure about talking to you very much about it till now =/

well, as you may not, I don't always take those crappy origins to heart. It's like Cobra Queen's story of how shitty makeup turned her into a snake woman but in a later episode, Cobra Queen said she'd always had those powers and told Steff the reason why she never dated as a child was because she had skin issues... as in, she shed a lot and steff was all like "ewww"... so with Jubal, I'm just going to say he's a mutant. As for Cobra Queen? I have a whole new and better origin set up for her as well and it makes a great deal more sense.
Don't worry. Jubal has his jewels though I don't know if he has a family yet.
