Description This is a visual version of my poem "Lens." I'd like to thank for giving me special permission to use his photo, "Brilliance," [link] as the background layer for this visual poem.

I personally feel the edit to the background refreshing; it actually improves the quality of the photo. Then i like the effect of overlying text; white that is merged in the background with the real poem apparent in red. The name Kerry Marley" in blue in the corner looks well fitted as well.

The visualization of the picture/poem and the title works really well for me and not due to this being my photo. Now the poem... I personally like it. It is simple, straight to the point without dwindling and shows a moment that a lens captures and the reality behind it. i personally like the last line which adds life to the otherwise "simple" poem. The last line... actually after reading it once all lines look good.

If I have a slight problem that is with the text font and color. I cannot describe it perhaps but have you tried different fonts on this? If not then please do. I do not deny the font give a formal and grim/sad touch to the poem but you can experiment otherwise this is fine.

The color... try putting a gradient on the font in front... whatever way you might want to put it.

Otherwise, I have given my honest views. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

Thank you so much for critiquing! I'm so glad you likes what I did to your photo. I must admit, I was a little nervous.

I actually did try this out with other fonts, and I saved one of them, but the program I was using has very limited fonts and if there is a way to add your own fonts while using that program, I am unaware. I might take this and put it in another program and see if I can come up with better fonts. I do want to stick with a sans serif font to make it look sleek and professional, if you know what I mean. I do have a question though. Is it the actual red color that you don't like, or the shade? I just wasn't sure exactly which parts you found unappealing.

I can see if I can change parts of this, just let me know.

I love the red color, it appeals to me and I think the font was not very problematic so don't worry about it either I thought that if possible... they could be a color gradient across the font... say light red at the start, getting darkest till the middle then again getting a bit light; that sort over all I liked it!

Ha Ha! I'm glad you liked it! I guess part of the reason I wanted to make these is that it seems so unfair to me that writers can't sell their works on premium content unless it's an image of some sort.

i have some collaborations i did with a friend. My poems on her photos. I had them up a while back. I was going to upload them to groups but wasnt sure if they would accept them in poetry folders or not.

i think there is a real gap in the market actually. I would love pieces of art on my walls with poems on.

you are a trendsetter!

Ha Ha! YAY! I love being a trend setter!

I agree there is a gap in the market. We should close it!

I think you should go ahead and try to submit them to groups. I know there are some groups that have folders for 'poetry with images' or you can always submit it to 'digital art.' Sometimes it's a matter of finding the right group. You could always note the group founder and ask if it would be ok.

ah yeah i might well do that.

I remember when I submitted Bees poem once (which she agreed to) I got told off by some group founders lol

What! That's dumb. But you know, you can submit other people's writing into groups by suggesting a group favorite.

I think it looks good in the background, and the poem itself is very deep
