Description Disappointed  
after spending time to correct the model ported from XPS\XNA to 3ds Max for easier animation  

her face in the game is much more better,
and her hair has 3 layers or 2 more faces and I don't know should i delete 1 or 2 

is there anything  missed ?!

this is the 1st time I render her and I really get shocked
models are low quality compared to DOA .. why

What shader are you using for the hair textures? Blinn? Anisotropic?

If you're going to be modifying the model in 3ds max you can also look into adding a few more bones into the hair (make it look curvier)

the problem is not about bones, it is about textures and mesh

well her CG images are fantastic compare to what we have

I really do like the render you made but i can tell the lack of resolution on the model.  There isn't the same amount of detail in the eyes like the ones you did for doa.  although on the bright side i do like how you were able to make her look soft and not just shiny.  I see something weird with the hair though...

usually i would convert the mesh back into quads, which is stupid easy now a days because of zbrush.. then u can sub div and get a nice surface.. but shit again with zbrush u really can just take it past that adding alot of detail...

render looks really good, the GI and SSS came out nicely. you just need to get the highlights, which U could just brush in through photoshop.

btw DOA models are attractive and all, but the bodies are shared across all the girls and isnt super detailed.. after awhile u recognize when someone does a body swap and its kind of a joke. *ranting*

Convert it to quads and ...   man I am a beginner I don't understand these advanced terms
I will look and search if I can do it with ZBrush like you said

and agree DOA cuter than TEKKEN model ( hope T7 will match DOA )

1.) Because Team Ninja's modellers are better. Even wayyyyyyyy back.

2.) Tekken's customization options require them to have modular designs (certain pieces have to be swapped, you know arms and whatnot).

3.) Tekken's current line up is 7 years old. I know they introduced new characters but if they deviate from the quality present with the rest of the cast it will show. 

4.) Namco-Bandai have high poly versions of all of them which they use for promotions and cut-scenes. Sadly, the in-game models are not lower poly models of their high-poly counterparts but different models altogether.

I really hope T7 models will be much better than DoA. Tekken is much much better game, but models are meh ;/


And agree about CGI models. Look at CGI Christie Monteiro and her ingame model from TTT2 :/

I think it's pretty awesome still, Tekken never will be like DoA because they are much into a gameplay not graphic. So far they released 60 different characters + all of them has frames. If they wanted to create best graphic design, then game will lag too much because of too many characters and frames. Tekken 7 will have about 20 characters only, they said, so it's a chance graphic to be better than ttt2. This render I think has better face than any other DoA character still f.e I dislike Momiji's face especially her strange lips like a duck Mila is the most ugly in DoA in my opinion but those games Tekken and DoA are totally different

No relation between no. of character and lag
better graphics doesn't mean a LAG
in the end 2 Vs. 2 [ maximum no. of visible player on screen ] ( not 60 Vs. 60 ) 

TEKKEN  is not the only fighting game that concentrate on gameplay, ( all of them care  )
you already know the new features of DOA 5 except if you have not play any previous games

60 DIFFERENT character  , are you sure, are there any copy with a little difference  
I am 100% sure there are similarity in terms of design, move-list ( like any other fighting game )

There is a difference between beauty ( Character Design in general ) and in-game design ( 3D Model )

I love Lili but I don't like her 3D model
( it is BAD, actually all characters, some of them are UGLY like Nina,compared to other fighting games like SC  in case of Namco)

I love Momiji and I love her 3D design
Tecmo > Namco in terms of character design ( personal preference ) and 3D design 

Look at DOA 1-4 characters are doll, without life

As I said before, it is Personal Preference
You like Lili > Momiji because Momi have bigger lips  

and you are right
DOA = Anime style  while TEKKEN = near Reality
