Created for The Art Order challenge. Really fun project, but it ended up being a speed painting as I was working on finals for the past few weeks. I was happy with the overall design though, so I submitted it anyways. Cheers!Related content

This is wonderful! This is a scene that has been done a millions times, but you have managed to achieve a fresh angle. Love it!

Great job on lighting, color, and detail. The only thing that throws me off is the pose of the girl.

If I had time I would've set up a reference for a good pose, but with time constraints and a very shoddy figure drawing ability, this is all I could come up with. In other words, you're right

well you don't really need a reference picture. All you need to do is get up and pose it yourself memorize the pose and then draw. the best part about doing this is you could do right away without having to search for pictures.

Indeed you are right. I think the advantage of reference pictures is being able to see the nuances of light and shadow.

It really is haha. It's partly forced perspective, partly a weird design choice. But yes, he seems absurdly serpent-like I think
