Description Misconstrue - Part 1

The age of space exploration continues, and Earth’s technology advances. It is the year 3023 and the first human space ship, on a course to find life, has reached a destination. A new milestone for humans, euphoria sweeps the world.
Before contact is made, the exploration fleet malfunctions, explodes and annihilates the fleet right in front of this alien world, which is mistaken as an attack on them. The humans unable to apologize to the aliens about the mistake made, a galactic war begins, and years pass of barbaric killing and battles. Not anticipating the alien’s power of witchcraft, there seems little hope for Earth. Humans flee from the Earth for safety from the unknown and hazardous future. Not a moment too soon, these water dwelling creatures summon forces from the universe to obliterate the Earth in cataclysm, yet only 500 million civilians manage to escape.

I told myself I wouldn't comment on this work, because there's already enough comments, and mine wouldn't get read anyway. I broke my promise, because this is so nice. I love the blue-white expanse of brightness in the center. The streaks of lightning-type stuff are really clever.

This is definately going to be added to my favorite artwork thingy-hoozit. It's also going to be downloaded and put as my desktop wallpaper.

Wow. Great Work.

~theblackhawk: Hehe, its a proven fact that hotter stars emit more radiation in the in the blue wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum. And I am sure thats the sun, and not the forces the aliens are sending against Earth. And I assumed that was the other planet... If it were the forces being send against the Earth, then it would be all over the planet, not just coming from a point. Even if it was, then where is the Sun? If that blue globe thingy is the witch craft vooodo magic, then that means there is another light source, the Sun. From the image, it is evident that there is only one globle light source, the big blue globe thingy mijiggy. I am sure ~verion can settle this

Although if it is the Earth then those astroids look out of place.. I am sure we don't have any around the moon's orbit...

cheers and regards

Steve.

P.S. The story is at least half original. Its the only sci/fi story line that I have read involving witch craft, things normally more the realm or fantasy

well its very nice but isn't the planet thing very simple to do in 3dsmax? its only what i've heard so Im not jumping to conclusions. And for a space image there is definetly not enough stars. It makes a very nice desktop and it is eye catching, but the story seems kinda unoriginal.... the whole aliens killing humans and what not..... but ya..... here I am

publius... he didnt rip him. foo.

I actually almost love this peice. I don't say that about many things, but in this case I will. The lighting is awesome. It looks so realistic, like there is actually a battle and explosions happening at that second. Earth (that is Earth, right?) looks extremely realistic in itself, even if you did/didn't make it thats still an awesome Earth. The little debri of planet that are floating around give it a good sense of destruction and death. Again, the lighting pulls this image together.

Very awesome man, +Fav.

Anywho your problem not mine.

all of you who are readin this!!!

theblackhawk [2002-07-01 18:57:20 +0000 UTC]

Well i must say that is good work and i could never produce somethin like that but then again i wouldn't have the time either.

like a previous deviant said you have some things to fix in order to make this.... i guess perfect for a lack of better words.

Now the comets' tails need to be facing one direction, away from the sun....

What freespace said about the sun, i don't believe that's the sun, that would be all the forces and what not the aliens sent against us. I think he was just tryin to make himself feel so smart and show off to everyone else.

And..... the whole absence of star thing.... there are stars there but my deal is that they're all one size, the last time i checked star's come in different sizes.

And last.... your story.... well i would leave it out... in my opinion it just sucks. You'd figure that by whatever year all that happened that we would have already made contact, and why did everything just happen to go wrong.

Anyway, your mistakes you can fix if you like but i don't time to sit here and see if you do.
