So I was digging through my art and found this little bit of nonsense right here. I was actually drawing it as a follow up to Conrad's little walk through the ages but then never finished it.Then I found it and slapped some colors on it to pretend it was finished so I wouldn't feel obligated to fully color it anymore and called it a day (just kidding I'm still comicking haha).
Just thought I'd share!! Sorry it's so old and crappy I kind of really hate parts but I'm okay with parts but I remember putting effort into it and I didn't want it to COMPLETELY rot on my harddrive.
Forever.
Until the memory ghosts took it awayahhhhhhhhhh.

The right knee on all my pants (and tights) were perpetually ripped when I was littleHanna's age, too... it's details like that that make me <3 this comic obsessively.
I agree with ~chemicalpanic in that the color transition is shocking - it took me a minute to see the Hanna that is in 3 and 4. But I love how even though he's got his color back in the last one, you can see how his expression is much more guarded, and the sexy dark circles reflect whatever the f*** happened to him... oh Hanna...

I'd say the colours between the Hanna figures could've faded into each other a leetle softer. Either that or a stronger contrast because right now to me the composition only looks a little disorganised. (Lol don't mind me, I always try to give critique to show my admiration. T^T)
Digging the drawings themselves, though! All Hannas are made of cute (and possibly disturbing). Barefooted Hanna has this asylum feeling to him...
The crosses on his soles are a really nice touch, heh.

Methinks that somewhere between 2nd and 3rd Hanna was when he got all mixed up in the supernatural, hence the... dishevelment in the 3rd stage. Then it looks like he got institutionalised in the 4th panel (maybe that's where the scar comes from?), and then somehow he got released and went YAY PARANORMAL and decided to kick ass.

Oh god it breaks my heart, that is such an abrupt change. So happy and energetic then BAM, terrified and meek and hunched over and sad :C like whatever happened was FUCKED UP. Poor guy. BUT NOW HE'S OKAY YAAAAY. I love the way you portrayed this, like he is growing older as he's falling.
4th Hanna did remind me of Conrad but it's just the haircut and the very dark hair that gives that impression at first glance.

I really like how the fifth Hanna echos the first two - his color is back and he looks energetic again - but different at the same time; he looks more determined, more manic. Whatever it is that happened to the third and fourth Hanna, he's recovered "himself" from it, but it looks like going through/overcoming that experience has left a permanent mark on his attitude (as well as his body, since presumedly the nasty chest scars happened somewhere between the third and last Hanna).

The more I look at it
the more the sudden shift from warm to cool between Hanna 2 and Hanna 3 stands out
and it makes me wanna cry for the boy.
...but you're probably sick of hearing about my let's-cry-over-every-little-thing tendencies. XD

The third and fourth "stage" make me feel incredibly sad... D':
Even as a only-trying-to-look-finished picture it's beautiful! The emotion it makes me feel for him is crazy strong.

The first two are adorable time infinity. The third and fourth make my heart ache, and the last one makes me smile a little.
And this is a really stupid thing to fixate on, but is Hanna in the third pose wearing pink underwear?!
And in the fourth one, it looks like he's a mental patient; the hair cut and the very simple clothes (no shoes!) are a clue.
I am really really REALLY hoping we get an explanation for how Hanna went from happy kid to OMGWTFBBQ in pose three. Gigantic blue scared eyes are gigantic.
Also, are we ever going to learn when Hanna got his super scar of DOOM? I ask too many questions, I know, but I can't help it, this world and the characters pique my curiosity like WHOA.

nth-ing the x's. Given what I know of Hanna, though, maybe it's a protective thing like the other marks he's made on himself? it has to be something important if he's desperate enough to reproduce the mark on his own flesh.
Maybe also something his parents were wary of since he's got it on him since he was ittybitty.
Look forward to seeing more of his backstory down the line. Your comic is AWESOME!
