Description This week's tutorial is on something I took a long time to get right (or at least good enough that I was satisfied with it) - how to draw chains & metallic surfaces! I learned this just from reading and absorbing the techniques of different illustrators, as there aren't that many tutorials about esoteric topics like this around.

Sorry I missed last week's TOW. I was overworked! I'll make it up though - I'll do another TOW this week to catch up.

Your group logo reminded me of this flash video I made in college: [link]
I wish I could put it on DeviantArt, but it's a music video, so I technically don't own the rights to all of it

Cool !! i live it for real good job
and if you had it in .swf form then you can upload it as flash
but as video you can do that by uploading it on your sta.sh and then make a new submission and put the link URL in dic

I don't have the original swf, and the filesize is > 80 Mb, so I can't upload to sta.sh =[

I really like how you described each of the details you used in shading! I've seen a lot of these details in tutorials and books but have never had any idea of what they were called. I also like your technique for setting up chains! I've never been great at it, even though I realize chains overlap... this should make chain drawing much easier! Thank you very much for sharing your awesome tutorial!

Yeah, it took me several hundreds of comic pages before I took a step back and seriously tried to learn how to draw chains and metal properly. But now that I've done it, I feel a lot better about what I draw. It's funny how little things can improve your art!
