Description A brief summary of the principles of perspective drawing. I've adapted this from the much more in-depth section of "Mastering Manga," in which I devote fourteen pages to explaining the rules, offering examples, and guiding students in three detailed step-by-step lessons allowing you to draw different environments (street scene, room interior, and sci-fi space station) using each type of perspective.

"Mastering Manga" will be out in paperback on March 8. You can pre-order the book at bn.com: [link]

And Amazon: [link]

It is available in ebook form right now: Kindle, Nook, or iPad. Your local bookstore should be able to get the book in for you if you ask them to.

in 3 point perspective, if you have multiple vanishing points (like multiple chairs at multiple angles and heights, do they need to have a shared A, B, or C point?

I know in the 2 point perspective, as long as the points sit on the horizon line, I can draw many different objects at different angles, but I'm not sure how to approach the 3 point perspective on this.

Mark, I love your tutorials! You have made some very difficult topics seem alot easier, and I thank you for that. I stopped drawing for a long time and have just recently started again, and I have improved greatly just from watching your tutorials on here and on Youtube. Thank you again, and I can't wait to see the next one! Best of luck to you and your art!

I really want this book and I missed the 50% off *sad face*

But thank you so much for uploading this page in particular!

I am so bad at perspective, mainly because I don't fully understand it and do not practice it.
Thanks again and you are such an amazing artist!

My order was just shipped, but I won't see it until June because I sent it to my mom's home in the US instead of my home here in Kuwait. I didn't want it to be lost in the mail like my medicine. I hope I don't die before I get to see it. I can't wait to get the "Mastering Manga" book! It is my dream to become a manga artist! Thank you so much for all your help, Mr. Crilley!

Hey!

I'm looking for a while for a perspective tutorial which will allow me to draw something with the same size in perpecive (example: [link] ). How do I know where to draw vertical lines of rest doors? And the same on a road - I see the dotted line, how do I know where to end further lines witch have to be the same size as first in perspecitve.

Or i'm sitting in a class near window or the wall (not in the center) and on wall in front of me on both sides are sth like a pillar (like letter " L " add to the wall) and how do I know what size of horizontal line do I have to draw?

*If in 1 perspective point, horizontall lines of cloned object are just the same, than second question is outdated.

I'll be using this today actually! lol

"Reference Material?" C'mon, that is the least you need.
You can learn how to draw by just using a simple HB and some print paper.
Some good materials doesn't make you a better drawing artist!~

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KBorArt In reply to fangPS [2012-02-12 14:38:49 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I am very well aware of that thank you very much. But every artist sometimes need to have something to fall back on incase of a memory failure in the brain. For good sake, even Mr Crilley here said he does that sometimes to. And look at his drawings! He can draw almost anything. But even he do need something to fall back on sometimes when he needs it.

And what do you know what I need? Are you some kind of mindreader? If I want some reference material and you think I don't, then just shut up and let it be.

fangPS In reply to KBorArt [2012-02-12 14:45:35 +0000 UTC]

I'm sorry. It wasn't to criticise you.

And yes, I am a mindreader, but I cannot read people's mind though the computer (j/k )

KBorArt In reply to fangPS [2012-02-12 14:56:40 +0000 UTC]

I am sorry as well. I am just a bit tired. Sorry I was so rude.

And I can actually agree with on some ponits. Having the best of the best material maybe isnt allways the road to succes. I for example use a mechanical pen that is like...15 years old or something. And I am totally fine by that. But we all have different ways of learning how to draw. Some can't do anything without looking at a book, others just...draw. I guess I am sort of hybrid of that.

And I gotta say, the few drawings you got on your channel, is kind of nice. ^^

fangPS In reply to KBorArt [2012-02-12 17:33:03 +0000 UTC]

I've bought LOTS of books, but didn't learn a thing.
I just cannot learn from those stuff. I mostly learned to draw thanks to my dad!~

And thanks!~ ^_^ I've watched you channel, and I your drawings are very good as wel!~

Keep up the good work!~

Why thank you good sir.

This is kind of a standard question I ask to any new watchers, what drawing did you like the best?

I have to say it is your guitar girl. Dem boobs
