Here's the promised speedpainting tutorial!
I'm sorry it's so big, but I honestly suck at Flash and this is the best I could do. I hope that you'll find it helpful!
you'll find all of the brushes I use here: [link]
And here you can find a selection of other quality brushes: [link] and tutorials: [link]

Which brush did you use in the beginning? I can't find any brush with the same texture as the brush you used in the first part. Someone please tell me.

Brilliant! I love to see tutorials like this, really breaking down the process.
It's easy to become discouraged, I know I always see spectacular backgrounds from other people and feel put down by them.
I will likely use this tutorial multiple times, thanks for creating this!

This is incredible and seems to be a very good starting point for newbies such as myself. I've got a good grasp of PS but haven't played that much with various brush presets. Amazing tutorial, bookmarked for sure!

I know you gave the link to the brush you used but it's not in the "lazy brush set". I know people say, to use your own brushes but i'm clueless on which brush to use.
Which brush did you use in tutorial, at the first step?

I have a question. When you copied the original image to create a reflection in the pond.... how did you delete the area's of that image when you were finished without deleting the part in the pond?

Thank you so much for this! Β I've been looking all over for help as a beginning speedpainter, and have been getting a lot of: "There are no rules! Β Just paint!" Β I loved this tutorial, start-to-finish and, although I was already using many of the techniques, it was great to have the affirmation that I'm on the right track. Β Now, I have a bunch more techniques I can use to build on top of it. Thanks again!

You say that for the most part, you sketched for 20-30 minutes a day. In the beginning did you get as much done? What I mean is, were you able to apply the same level of detail in the beginning that you do in this piece, within the same time frame, or did that take time and practice to develop?Β
