Description
I've been taking in requests for a while now, and I admit the list has been piling up with a lot of names that I really want to work on, but no name popped up more often than of Laura Kinney, X-23. I first met Laura back in the X-Men Evolution cartoon series, and she's gone a long way from there, appearing in Young X-Men and then to X-Force, and it's no wonder how much of a fan favourite she is.I opted to depict her in her X-Force outfit, which I think is so badass with the tiger stripes that resemble Wolverine's but in black and grey, and while I do love her own traditional uniform, this was too cool to pass up. I needed to draw her slightly thinner and smaller since she's still a teenager, and I think I was able to do that with her body structure. I didn't want to depict her in a static pose, and I really tried my best to make sure she looked really dynamic, which resulted in this jumping action pose which I really liked.
The costume was the trickiest part of the piece, especially all the intricate details of her belt and her combat boots. The belt needed refined inking to get the narrow circles down right, and the boots took me a whole night to finish with all the straps. I'm glad too I was able to apply the same leather-ish finish I managed to do with Ms. Marvel here, and I'm happy with how the texture came out on her costume. Of course it wouldn't be complete without her claws, and like Wolverine I did the same shiny method to make them pop out and look like real metal.
X-23 is a huge favourite for the fans, and it was a sad day when her solo series got cancelled because I really adored the artwork. I know this may not be the most faithful adaptation of Laura because I decided to leave out a few details from her costume like the X on her chest (which I think seems redundant since the belt has an X already), but I'm really pleased with how it went out and I hope all those who requested her will be satisfied with this piece.

It's been fixed, and I don't think I'll edit it anymore. That's just the style of my art, inspired by the work of Bruce Timm.

You know, after my last comments, I feel bad for taking advantage of your generosity. I tried to help you at first, but looking back, I feel like I was giving you my orders rather, then advice.
Please accept my humble apologizes! I still very much love this piece to bits, but I really started to get nit-picky now.

This is beyond amazing! I truly love this one. I loved reading through your detailed description, it was really enoyable to read your thoughts and the progress on how this drawing went through.
But if I may make a few critic here; is that I think that Laura's top should be tighter. it seems rather loose looking at her back here. And that her arms gloves should actually cover her whole hands. Lastly, her hair fringe, while it's really pretty here, shouldn't be there, since she doesn't have a fringe. (in most canon comic adaptations anyway)
But this is all forgiven really, as it's still an amazing art piece! And hey, unlike other artists around here, at least you got her eye color right!

Wow thank you so much for the kind words! I always make sure to put a little write up on my process and all that so I'm glad you enjoyed reading through it.
Thanks for the criticisms too! I'll get back to work on it and fix those little details then I'll upload an updated one in a bit! But of course I won't get her green eyes wrong!

I've already fixed it, take a look! I didn't change her hair anymore, I really liked the way it went so we can just say this is my interpretation of her haha!

Wow, what an improvment! And I really not mind that you left her hair like this at all. As I said earlier, while she rarley sports a fringe, it looks really pretty here!
But there's one little thing that bothers me...her back seems too broad. Like, when you look under her left armpit, it seems very odd. It's kinda hard to explain...here, let me show you: [link]
See the little chnage I made under her armpit? That is what meant.
Oh, and I deeply apologize for uploading it on my profile without your permission, but I didn't knew any other way to show it to you. I will remove it from my gallery as soon as you see this message.

It's no problem at all! I see what you mean, I'll work on it now! You can put down your upload, I'll be uploading a new edit in a bit!
Thanks so much for helping me iron out my piece, it really means so much!

Wow, what an improvment! Nice job at tweaking some details here and there.
And, I'm actually completely fine that you left her hair like this. As I said before, despite the fact that she rarley sports a fringe, it looks really pretty on Laura here.
But there's one tiny little detail that I forgot to mention. Her back seems a bit too broad. You can see it under her left armpit. It's kinda hard to explain...Here, let me show you:
[link] Do you see the change I made under her left arm pit? That's what I meant. And I apoligize deeply for uploading your art without permission, but I just wanted to quickly show you what I meant. I'll remove as soon as you get this message.
