Description Please read description.

I am currently limiting the number of rps I will do.

Things to consider:
I prefer paragraph/story style.
Capitalization, punctuation, and quality matter.
In general, longer is better. However...
I don't mind short posts some of the time, as long as you give me something to work with.

Your answers to the questions should be part of your 'intro post'. As in fitting the whole paragraph style rp format. And some form of character description should be included. Y'kinda gotta give me something to work with.

This is designed to go with giants, giant beings, or some form of intelligent predatory creature/being (naga, demi-dragon, dragon, etc)

This is not good...

...and from the vision alone that was proven to be so when he noticed a small woman who was no doubt afraid and another whose name escaped the tongue but the appearance was somewhat familiar - from the same place and all. Pythagin did not know what to do; he was torn between feigning ignorance or putting his foot down in the metaphorical manner and doing some good. This one lone woman was in trouble, and he could do something.

So he did.

Gold gaze turned to the location he had noted the woman was hiding behind, the Pythagin leaned down on his knee and placed a feather-attached hand near, contemplating how to ... go about this. In a mere whisper, since he did not know how sensitive the hearing tended to be, the harpy would address her.

Please, do not scream and run.

"...ssh, it'' going to be fine."

She wasn't sure how long it had been going on, how long since the predators first showed up. First the village had been found and destroyed yesterday, and now, they seemed to have found where the survivors had fled to. There was no shelters to retreat to, no where to run to. All they could do was choose a direction and hope to find something, anything, to use as a hiding place. There was no outrunning beings so much larger, no fighting something so much stronger... But she wasn't going to just give up. She was going hope for some sort of hiding place, or something she could used as a barrier between herself and the deadly predators, something they couldn't get past to catch her.

She paused behind a tree, trying to catch her breath. She didn't think she had been spotted as she ducked back here. She slowly made her way around the tree, looking back the way she came to make sure that the ones she had just slipped away from didn't spot her. She turned to look the other direction and froze, realizing she had accidentally moved into view of another. She was tense as she stared at the harpy, starting to back up again.

If she hadn't already been out of breath, she would have screamed when he started to move in closer. As he knelt down, she started to back up more quickly, losing her balance almost immediately and falling back onto her rear with a yelp of pain. Despite now being on her back, she started to back away again.

She froze as his hand came near her, then slowly started to get to her feet. She stared at his hand as she started to back away again. She was bordering on panic, wanting to run as fast as she could, but also afraid of falling again and losing all hope of potential escape. She took a quick glance around, looking for a potential escape, fearing that she had run out of options.

Committed to the mind that the approach had not been one to operate as intended nor planned, but he did admit in the mind that at least the rather brave woman had not turned on the heel and fled and neither had she began to scream and whimper - he assumed because other giants tended to be around and that would sign the almost literal doccumentation of becoming dinner. Or worse.

In turn, it caused the man to be more determined to help this one, on the assumption she allowed him. He would rather avoid needing to come off as cold and cruel... Feathered ears up in alarm from beneath hair that ended above the shoulders but consisted of three warm coloured shades, Pythagin kept his palm down in one place but scootched around on his talons to try and push her towards it with his other hand, and with gentle, encouraging nudges rather than a full out push.

That too would look bad.

"I'm not going to harm you; I promise. Please, trust me..." His tone had gone down and down to a plea, because if one of the others wanted this human for dinner, he could not object and be able to leave the scene without some of his rainbow plumage missing, or worse. More a scavenger than an active hunter.

In the end though, he would either coax her into the palm and leave with his catch close to the unclothed torso. Or, he would hold little choice but to snatch her up.

She was confused by his behavior, puzzled that he hadn't just grabbed her, that he was being so careful. When he placed his hand in front of her to offer his palm for her to climb on, she immediately backed up a bit, hesitant to trust any potential predator, even if he was acting different from the others.

Her attempt to back away from the offered hand caused her to back right into the other, and she yelped in surprise, turning around quickly to see what had touched her. She took a step back when he attempted to nudge her forward, turning again so she could attempt to look between the two hands. She felt somewhat cornered right now, trying to figure out how to avoid being touched.

She hardly realized she was backing up again, reacting more instinctually than anything. But when she did realize she had started to back up she froze. Her movements had been in the worst possible direction. She both wanted to turn to see where she had been going, and was afraid to do so, knowing that while she had put a little distance from his hands, she had put herself closer to him, and basically caused herself to be surrounded now.

A shudder passed through her as she weighed her options. She could try to run, but she knew that she didn't stand a chance at succeeding. She guessed she could attempt to dart between his hands, but any other direction showed no hope at all of slipping past him. Perhaps...

She slowly moved closer towards the offered hand, but once she was a short distance from it, she started to carefully move sideways, seeing if she could circle around and avoid it. A slight nudge from the spare hand made her stop her attempt to slip past, instead freezing on the spot with a shudder. While she would not willingly get on his hand, she finally stopped attempting to slip away. She didn't fight his attempt to gently urge her onto his hand, not struggling or attempting to move out of the way of his hands. After a few nudges, she was at his hand, and the next was enough for her to cause her to lose balance and land sitting on his hand. She stared up at him in clear fear, but held herself together well enough not to scream and panic.

Goal complete! Woman in hand, the man stood once more and maintained to becareful and be cautious with each movement and action performed, since he had heard the human species did tend to be rather soft skinned and fragile on the inside - in contrast to their taste being unrivaled, and as curious as the avarian tended to be about that, behaviour and mindset tended to prevent him from doing something without consent and thorough discussion.

Around this time Pythagin vanished from the scene in the common method that involved walking the distance from the point A to the point B, a rather short adventure that went from the somewhat more forest-orientated scene previous to a structure implemented and carven into a natural tunnel into a rock formation, since it provided a good deal of protection from others that might hold the sudden desire to do damage to others their own size.

The man was silent the entire time, at least until he entered his home, closed the door and turned the lock to keep the peace and the quiet, and placed the nameless woman down on a table, drumming the claws on the table's surface as he began conversation.

"Apologies about the scare, madam. I'm Pythagin. Might I have the pleasure to be told a name to address you in return?"

She squirmed slightly as he picked her up, a shudder passing through her as she found herself held securely. She was starting to shiver a bit, frightened by what was going on, but unsure what to do. He was being surprisingly gentle, but she wasn't sure if it was some sort of trick, if he just wanted to be able to get some prey away from the more dangerous predators, to avoid risk of fights over food.

Once on the table, she backed away from him, getting out of arm's reach as a precaution. She was a little surprised when he started talking to her so politely, but wasn't about to change her mind about distance. Still, if he wanted to talk, it wouldn't hurt anything. "Um... I'm Vesper..."

Could one find words with such ease when the conversation held was with someone whose species discerned and famed them for something edible - a rare and exotic delicacy? Pythagin, compelled and determined as he happened to be to assist this Vesper - wonderful name aside - did not know how to begin a real topic.

What could he say?

Sorry for the loss and the hell pushed through?

She had a nice scent?

None of those would do good, and one he figured would be another rise of the already present red-flagged alarm.

Oh! That could be a good point to begin.

"Vesper. It sounds odd to the tongue but it is a rather beautiful name; a pleasure to finally finish the introduction. Things were no doubt a rather...unpleasant...beginning but I do aim to make things up in some way, and I'm not going to do anything to harm you. I promise."

She wrapped her arms around herself, obviously nervous as she took a nervous step back. His behavior didn't make any sense to her, and she was worried about what he might do. He was promising not to hurt her, and so far he had been rather gentle... But she couldn't be sure what he meant by his words, if it was some sort of trick. Still, perhaps there was reason to be hopeful.

"You... aren't going to hurt me? If not... for the usual reason... Then why did you bring me here? What are you going to do?" She couldn't hide the fear in her voice; she knew it had to be obvious. But she also figured that it would be expected... She had little reason to trust at this point, only a little hope that perhaps she had actually, but some miracle, found an escape from the fate that the others had faced this day.

"Should there be a desire to return to the middle of that hunting ground then I'll be more than able to see that attended to, though the long and short is that I would much rather someone to speak to, to speak with." Pythagin's words could be hard to understand since the base english tongue was not the one he had first been exposed to, but the good thing is that he was not the classical deceitful soul, and would much rather a pet or a companion than a mouthful meal that would naturally become forgotten with time.

His intentions for the current moment was to calm her down and learn a bit about the human woman, because Vesper had him quite curious, more so with her behaviour because he had heard from his friends that captured humans tend to be quite the loose cannon - running round, screaming, beginning... This female exhibited none of the forewarned behaviour.

Then it occurred that perhaps the woman would feel better once she had been able to lie down in a safe location, or had some food and water to settle the knots formed in the stomach during time of fear.

When he mentioned returning her to the hunting ground she shook her head, taking another step back from him. That was the last thing she wanted. Now that the adrenaline was dying down a bit, she was quickly feeling exhausted. She knew she wouldn't have even the slightest chance of survival back there.

She looked around a bit, figuring out how much space was on the table she stood on, how much more she could back up before risking falling. She looked back up at him, more confused than scared at this point. "You... really meant what you said? You aren't going to hurt me? You aren't... you aren't going to eat me?"

While the look on her face made her confusion obvious, her tone of voice held more than just confusion. There was also a bit of hopefulness to be heard in her voice. It seemed unreal that she could actually have somehow ended up with one that didn't view her as a meal, but if it was true... If she truly was safe, she would be quite grateful for the unexpected rescue.

"I admit to being curious but no, I am not going to do that to someone that can think on the same intelligent par. So, should that do good for the mind, I extend the gesture should you wish to sleep. There's some spare segments in the nest."

The table on the other hand was about the length of an arm on all four sides, so a rough twenty by twenty paces for someone with Vesper's size and mass, though should she go to fall he would have a hand to ensure she did not.

He did not have favoured food on hand - it was somewhat the reason he had gone out in the beginning, to find something to ear, but sure enough sleep would help with that right?

She wasn't too happy with the limited space she had to move, she really wished she had been able to get well out of reach before starting the conversation. She felt a bit trapped, and it made it difficult to relax. One word in particular immediately got her attention, causing her to tense a bit. "Curious?"

She didn't like the sound of that, and it hardly registered with her that he had reassured that he would not consider someone with similar intelligence level as potential food. She glanced around the table again as if seeking escape. She had no more room to back up, and she had little energy left anyway. Realizing she had no real options at the moment, she started to sit down, seeming to almost collapse once she was nearly down. She looked down at the table she now sat on, knowing she had just made it obvious how exhausted she was now that the adrenaline rush from being hunted had run its course.

A nod of the head, though the man did know better than to state the specifics of the rather vague implication, and so he did not deepen the conversation on that topic because no doubt it would return them to the beginning square that had almost been able to be placed behind them. Or so the avarian assumed - granted, he was not the most talented in reading human emotions.

Spying the near collapsed motion, Pythagin shook his head from one side to the other and, with the use of both hands, aimed to scoop her up without too much problem, explaining the intention as he done so, so as to keep her calm. "...come on, you need some sleep. It will provide time for the form to calm down."

Another soft statement spoken as the table was distanced from and the room changed more to one suited for sleeping. Books were on shelves that had been rough moulded to the walls, and minerals of all kinds were scattered about - shiny stones that had grabbed the harpy's attention. And of course there was the wither-grass nest lined with feathers that had since come loose and become apart of the construction.

She had no opportunity to move when he scooped her up, or she most likely would have attempted to move out of reach. As it was, she became tense when picked up, and moved to look over the edge of his hand. She looked towards the ground only briefly, and upon seeing the drop would no doubt end badly, pulled back to sit more centered on his hands. After a moment, she came to the conclusion that wherever he intended to move her was likely an improvement, as the table could be seen associating with meals. So perhaps he had been honest, perhaps she wasn't about to end up on the menu. A hopeful thought, which helped to calm her a bit.

Adding to that hope was when she took note that there was no cages of any sort or similar containment method to prevent escape. She tried to think of what else the harpy might plan to do with her, but with exhaustion setting in quickly, she was unable to focus very well. It took only a few moments after he had lifted her from the table for her to decide not to fight her exhaustion any longer. She lay down on her side with a sigh, no longer thinking of where her was moving her to. It felt better to lay down, to accept that she really needed sleep and it would do no good to continue to fight it.

Seated soon in his nest ground, the man ummed and arred as to how he could place her down without the potential disturbance then concluded that it was impossible, and thus he aimed to slide her from his palm and onto the warm materials that composed the place she too would be sleeping. Close so that he could keep a glance upon her, and so that she could keep warm incase the night become too cool or cold for the human form.

"Sleep in peace," Pythagin wished as he curled up with one wing beneath him and the other over him, with the end feathers resting on the woman that he'd brought home to help save and spare. Did he plan to eat her? No, though as said he had become curious about the entire thing, but it was too soon to spring the idea, and thus he blew out a single candle to immerse the room in shadows.

Unless woken he would be up with the sun.

She was too exhausted to wake during the night, remaining asleep as she was kept warm by the feathers resting over her. The warmth helped keep her from waking, helped her rest peacefully. She was so exhausted that her sleep was without dreams, or at least none that caused her to stir in her sleep. It was the best sleep she'd had in many days, since the village she had been residing in had been destroyed, and it was something she would be grateful for later.

Once Pythagin woke, his movements caused her to start to stir from her sleep. At first she just moved a bit, curling up a bit and covering her face with her arm briefly. She pulls her arm back after a moment and sits up, blinking and looking around a bit as she tries to regain her bearings. When her gave falls on the harpy, she scrambles back quickly, briefly startled to find herself so close to a predator. The instinctual reaction nearly causes her to tumble from the nest to the ground below, but she pauses before she can fall.

Scratch. Rustle.

Those sounds the man recalled tended to sound when a small form crossed upon the materials that formed such sleeping grounds, and so woke him clear from the mind haze that come with the rise of the sun, beams of soft golden glow coming in through the window in the room.

The sleep had been pleasant, and a moment passed in which the man had forgotten what had gone on, until his vision cleared and he noticed the woman near the edge. Wait... Vesper. That was the name right?

"Morning," he wished in the same soft tone, moving the arm from beneath him with care and the top one soon enough, so that he could sit up - though if that risked harming her in any way he would cease immediate.

She was tense as she watched the harpy, glancing briefly behind herself to make sure there was no more room to back up, and no easy way down. She closed her eyes as she tried to calm her racing heart, reminding herself he could have easily killed her by now if he wanted to. She opened her eyes and forced herself to look up at him, deciding her best chance at remaining alive was to be polite, and if possible, friendly. It was going to take some effort, that was for certain, but if it kept her off the menu, it was well worth it.

She took a deep breath as she finally built up her courage, and exhaled slowly before finally speaking. "Morning... I hope you slept well." She quickly realized she was rather hungry, having had no opportunity to eat for most of the prior day. Early morning had been the only chance she had to gather a bit of wild edibles, and it was hardly a snack. The hunters had reached he area early, and it had ruined all hope of food breaks.

Thinking of her own hunger soon brought to mind what was almost certainly the greatest risk to her- this feathered man's hunger. She had no idea how good, or bad, her odds of survival were here. So at the moment her concern was breakfast: both if she would be given any, and more importantly, if breakfast was what he intended her to be.

The sleep had been pleasant and needed - dreams had been sweet, heat had been balanced, and for some reason or another the notion there had been a human too added the humouring impression some lost hatchling had ended up amid the feathers and composing material, though he knew enough that Vesper was both an adult and a human, so he would do good not to ... to hold his breath that she would be safe and sound.

From him? Believe or not she had nothing to fear from the avarian because his meal at the beginning of the hours tended to be a bowl of cereal, with scattered seeds and a coat of sugar that went hand in hand with either a light coffee or hot chocolate. Depended on the weather and whether or not he was awake.

"Good, thank you." He commented in return to her, he supposed shaken-toned question. This saddened him - did it take all will and determination to force her to remain in one spot or even speak to him? Ouch. Though, it was possible she could warm up to him, yes? He hoped so.

So then, first concern was the meal time at hand! His was in mind, but what about the woman?

"..would cereal do good enough or would you want some toast? I'm sorry, there's not too much suited for the human tongue."

When he calmly asked about what she would prefer for breakfast, she visibly relaxed. If he was going to eat her anytime soon, then he probably wouldn't be giving her breakfast. She smiled slightly, although it was partially forced. "I don't mind cereal. It's been a while since I've been able to have any, so it'd be a nice change. Lately I've mostly had to make due with anything I could find." She kept quiet her gratitude that she wasn't on the breakfast menu; she worried that he might be offended by gratitude like that. She couldn't help that she was afraid, he was significantly larger than her, and had found her in a situation where she had just seen many others she had been around end up as quick meals. A situation like that triggered survival instinct, and it was no simple matter to forget what she had seen the prior evening.

While most of the other survivors she had been traveling with were relative strangers, a couple of them she had started to call friends. And seeing the few friends she had captured by such giant creatures and devoured had made it difficult for her to feel comfortable in the presence of a similar being, despite promises of safety. She couldn't be certain which beings had been doing the hunting, her memories of the events weren't sharp enough for her to be sure of which among the predators had devoured her friends.

It had occurred to her that it was possible the harpy she was now with may have been responsible for the death of one or more of her friends. He seemed different from the majority of the others out there... But it was also possible that sparing her had been a decision that had come from having already had a very successful hunt. She wanted to know, but was also afraid to ask. But she had thought of a way to guess if he had participated much in the hunting. She guessed if the harpy had not joined in the hunting, then he would probably have a rather significant breakfast to make up for a missed meal; if he had been among the hunters, then he probably wouldn't have much breakfast, if any. Perhaps soon she would have an idea if she had decent odds of survival.

A question that, should it have been expressed with words, would have been answered with ease. The reason behind this was that he had not participated in the hunting at all, and what was more, was that he had never tasted human flesh before, hence the earlier ill spoken and timed reference that he was curious about the entire thing. Though he had been vague on the hint for her own peace of mind at the time.

Humans, from his observations, tended to be simple to unease, upset .. their emotions seemed simple to be lost control of, and he did not want to harm her at all, be it mental, physical or emotional, so he chose his words with as much care as he could manage.

Cereal it would be then! He hoped she did not mind some oats and sugar, or with a dollop of sweet honey collected fresh from a hive.

Once in the kitchen, Pythagin would place her down on the table and go about gathering what tended to be needed for the meal - bowls, ingredients... He would make two bowls of the hot food, and should she not be able to eat the entire thing, he'd finish it - the avarian man found that he was almost literally starving.

She watched him from the table as he prepared the food, seeming to almost study him. She was still trying to adjust to this unusual situation, and was trying to figure out how to best calm herself. She guessed that if she made herself get used to seeing him, maybe it would help her become more comfortable around him quicker. So while she wanted to study the area, figure out the best means of escape and hiding, she instead kept her attention on him.

When he brought breakfast over, she had no hesitations about having some. She ate as much as she could, having had rather small meals for some time. With the size difference between them, she was not the least bit surprised when he gave her too large a portion. But she was surprised when he finished off her left overs. A good sign, in her eyes. She saw it as meaning it was more likely he was honest. Maybe he really was different from the others, maybe he really did avoid eating humans.

Upon finishing her breakfast, she watched him, quickly noticing how much he ate. To her, very reassuring. Without really meaning to, she commented on her conclusion, "You... really didn't do any hunting yesterday... did you?"

Around the moment he had risen to place the bowls in the sink did he hear what was hard to discern as either a question that sought an answer from him, or a question that had been voiced against conscious action and emotion, though regardless he would provide something for her to be content with. He hoped.

"No - I don't hunt humans, so I've never tasted one and until the prior afternoon, I'd not even seen one so close." Pyth responded in the same softened tone he used about all times, an ear and half the vision turned to where it seemed she was seated at this point and time. Had that been on her mind all night? Whether or not he would eat her even after the promises and the reassurance?

Hm, he had to wonder whether or not there tended to be other reasons, but those in mind seemed the most logical to assume from his point of mind.

"It was more like an observation session...to tell the truth. Couldn't stomach watching and was about to head here when, well, when I found you hiding."

She seemed to relax some as he stated his reaction to what he observed. Now that she was rested, she could think better, she felt she could get a better read on him, better guess how honest he was being. "So you strongly disapprove of what they do? Of people being seen as food simply because of a difference in size?"

Her tone of voice was more calm now, she was thinking better. She was starting to trust him a bit, believe what he was telling her. It was obvious by her more relaxed demeanor that she was more open to conversation than the prior night and first thing when she woke. "You brought me back because... you disapproved of what was happening..." She sat down on the table, her legs hanging over the edge. "I think... I think I understand better now..."

Things could have been better should he of found more than one human to bring home, but the predators had flooded in worse than water from a broken dam and washed all the others up in their instinctual moods, hence he had been able to find and realistically save one and one alone.

At least that had to count for something!

"That would be correct." Confirmed Pythagin as he rested on his palms, watching as the woman moved the lower limbs and of course as the thoughts were respresented with the facial features - he could tell she placed much thought into this.

Though there was a problem. He wanted to keep her safe and sound, as much as he could at least, though at the same time, he found that there was the welled sensation to find out what the others loved so much about hunting and dining on humans. No. No, no, no. Focus on something else.

Something like.... like...

"Is there another human settlement outside the reach of these giant hunters?"

She watched him closely, wondering what he was thinking as she studied his expression. While she was beginning to believe him, she was still just a little suspicious of him. She kept wondering if he had actually only gone out there to observe, or if he had planned to bring someone back from he start. He had said bringing her back was primarily to save her life and to have someone to talk to, some company. But was there any other reasons?

She shook her head, looking downward, "None that I know of anymore. All the ones I knew of were located and destroyed... If there are any left, I won't be able to find them. I have nowhere left to go... No friends or family left.. Absolutely nothing left. While I was out there, I even considered just giving up. Just stop running, stop hiding..." She sighed, wrapping her arms around herself. "I'm not sure why I didn't."

Her sad expression made it obvious she was honest about having considered just letting herself get caught, letting one of the predators kill her. It had seemed like a decent option; having lost everything and everyone was rather depressing. She began to wonder how many people out there may have done exactly that.

The response had him curious. That had not changed - there still remained nowhere to go and no one that waited, that had to be quite harsh on the mind and the man pondered if this was the case, for what reason did she continue to battle on?

"...do...do you still feel as though that would be an option, because I am not sure one so small and I mean no disrespect on the mention of vulnerable, could find genuine happiness and welcome here." Reasoned Pyth as he continued to watch Vesper, compelled to reach down with one finger and run the clawed tip through the hair upon the head since he recalled it could help from time to time. Hopefully this was one of them.

Ah, but time was wasting and she seemed to need cheering up. She needed to relax and be at peace with a mind that did not haunt over such things... Hm, that could do good. Would she want to go outside awhile? Or would she rather remain inside? Assuming she wanted to stay and all...

So many barriers...

She was slightly tense as he moved to touch her, watching closely for any sign of the situation turning dangerous. As it became clear he was being cautious, gentle, she relaxed; she closed her eyes briefly as he ran the tip of his claw through her hair. "It's not the first time I've had that idea... but its not something I usually consider for long... It's the second time I've lost so much... the first time I came across a caravan of other lost survivors. Helping each other to survive, we got to know each other well... and I started to see some of them as friends."

She opened her eyes again, looking at his hand a moment, then turning her gaze to him. She was trying to figure out the situation as best she could, trying to decide what to think of this. His size and species made him intimidating, and it caused instinct to urge her to be wary of him, to see him as a threat. However, his actions were making it seem more like he was honest in what he had said from the start. Could she let her guard down? Could she believe he had only brought her back to save her life, and because he wanted someone to talk to, companionship. He had been gentle so far, careful to avoid hurting her even slightly...

Finally, she settled on a decision; she made her choice on whether or not to accept that he was honest about having good intentions. She sighed, letting out a deep breath and closed her eyes. After a slight hesitation, she slowly leaned her head against his finger, accepting his attempt to comfort and calm her.

"You could use some air - no good comes about being cooped up for all the sunhours." Pythagin commented, smiling down to the woman as he continued to hold and tend to her with care and genuine, sincere affection - his one goal was to cheer her mood and help her keep going. Sure, there was not much he could do at the moment, not unless she wished to accept his invitation for her to become a pet.

Would that do?

It could be different to the human word, but the general glance on a pet was that it was owned, but it was cared for and loved, on the assumption someone did not want to turn around and suddenly turn pet to snack. Not something to fear from or with him.

"Curious though, would you find yourself interested in an invitation to become a .. a pet of the kind? I know it must sound horrible, but I promise, I'd do whatever it took to make sure your happiness and health was the first priorities."

She didn't respond to his comment on her needing to get a bit of air; she was a bit uncertain about the risks of going outside. Outside was where she could come across the ones that would have killed her if they had been the ones to catch her. She didn't want to think about the potential to encounter another predator, another threat. She was just starting to feel safe in here, so why hurry to go back out where she risked being a snack? Best to just relax while she could, where she could be relatively certain she was safe.

She opened her eyes and looked up as changed topics. She stared at him, thinking carefully over what he said, seeming a touch confused for a moment. "A pet... Why would you think it sounds horrible? Strange perhaps... but not horrible." She looked downward a moment as she considered his offer, what it would mean. "Pet... can mean a lot of different things... In some cases... a pet is a companion, given affection and kindness, a companion that shares a home that serves as place of safety and comfort..." She smiled slightly at that thought, but then frowned as she continued, "In other cases... a pet is a captive, sometimes in a cage, sometimes made to do tricks for the amusement of another..."

She glanced up at him again, curious, and just a little concerned, "I suppose... it depends on just what is meant by pet. A pet could mean more than one thing... and while in some ways it could mean something nice, a desirable situation; it could also mean something rather unpleasant."

More or less he had presumed it would be welcomed, though he was not too familiar with humans as a whole and was quite aware he could make the most simple mistakes - Pyth had thought being indoors might seep the impression she was a prisoner of somekind, which was by no means true at all.

Complications, and all the potential mistakes were enough to make the feathered one's head spin. "...I'm not too sure, I just thought it would not sound all that good. A common pet does not possess the sentience to decline or accept their forced position, and that is why it was extended as an invitation. A gesture of protection and companionship." There were no cages around the home, and he seen no reason to change that.

Pyth had clue enough Vesper would not flee - too many dangers once out and about. He would do the wise thing then and leave the choice with her. No rush for an answer, right? Right!

"You're welcome to remain here, but that brings me to a bit of a question. Is there anything specific needed, or wanted even?"

She closed her eyes a moment as she thought about the situation he was explaining. "I suppose I can see how some might think it sounds bad... but what matters more is how it is meant." She shook her head slightly, "It's an idea that takes getting used to... but I'm not necessarily opposed to the possibility..."

She tilted her head to look up at him when he asked about what she may want. She was surprised by how nice he was being to her, that he was genuinely considering her comfort. "Um... I'm okay for now... I would like to get some new clothing at some point, or at least something to make clothing with... I'm okay for now though... Its not something that I need immediately, nothing that needs hurrying."

She turned to look towards the entrance of his home, considering what he had said about not staying inside. It scared her, the potential to be taken by one of the predators that actually would see her as a snack.

"Consider it then, should it please you." Since there was some weight to the situation, and much for the mind to come to terms with, something that Pythagin could not estimate the extent since the poor woman had lost much the night gone. It would take someone awhile to accept that alone, so he would not push and prod for an answer, for despite his curious nature, he was also rather patient and lenient. More good news? He also was not quite a full predator - see as one, but not actually one. So she was free from that threat too.

Her mention on clothing though had him nod, that he understood at least - the fabrics tended to do good to keep their owner warm when appropriate for the environment and the current season. Since he doubted he'd obtain such threads around the settlement, that remained two choices. One, return to the ruins and see if something could be salvaged, or the second one, which was get some material and let Vesper go at it as desired.

He did have an idea though.

"...would a morning flight help at all?"

She continued to think over his offer, unable to have her thoughts drift from that topic. There was a lot to consider... Such as how comfortable she would really be here, and how safe it was. The answer to the later of those questions seemed to be coming more certain. He hadn't hurt her, and had in fact gotten her away from those who would have. Most of his words and behavior had made it seem like she would be very safe here, and that he had a far more gentle nature than most of the giant creatures that had been out the prior evening.

She was caught off guard when he brought up flight, looking up at him. She wasn't entirely sure what to think of it, a bit concerned on how safe it was. He didn't seem to plan to intentionally harm her, but a drop from great height would still be deadly. It didn't sound like a very safe idea, so she decided to go back to thinking about his original offer. "I think... that maybe your idea... your offer to have me stay here as a 'pet'... I think it might be a good idea, but... I'm not entirely sure I should be making such a big decision at the moment... when I still have so much on my mind, so much to deal with... I don't think I'll change my mind about it... but I want to keep the option to do so."

She glanced at the entryway, considering what it might be like out today... She hadn't really paid much mind to the weather yesterday, but she hadn't noticed any sign that it would storm or even rain today. Going outside brought back to mind his comment about going for a flight. "You mentioned flight... it's not something I've ever experienced... Wouldn't it be dangerous?"

Conversation was not the most simple thing to this encounter, and he could not tell when something spoken tended not to be the wise mention - it confounded him, and admitted it did beome a bit of a pain when he found that either he was doing something wrong, or he was not quite understanding.

What more could he do?

Nothing.

Though he did nod to what he took as a request not to choose nor answer the question until she was able to do so - it would be wrong to force another into a pressured choice.

"No, it would be quite safe. I do possess an old necklace that can have rings looped around in order to secure someone with a human frame... If that would be something wished."

She glanced towards the entryway as she thought over his offer of taking her up in flight. "Before things got so... difficult... I used to like to go out to fields and watch the hawks gliding in the thermals... and I sometimes went rock climbing so I could see the view from high up..." She went quiet a moment, frowning slightly.

Her thoughts drifted to better times, before the predators began to figure out how to find the villages. Times when she still had fun, when she wasn't constantly on the watch for threats. Hardly realizing she was talking again, she continued in a softer tone, "I miss that... being able to see the land for miles while relaxing... having no reason to be on guard for the risk of threats..."

She shook her head as she realized she had been rambling about times past. "Sorry... I just really haven't had any opportunity to just sit and think... I think... if you are absolutely sure it'll be safe... then I think I might really enjoy finding out what flight is like..."

Silent and patient did the man remain until she had returned to the current time, not so much minding about the rambles - he was one that would rather be ears than lips to tell the truth so there was no harm done.

At least there was an answer.

Pyth would extend his hand down with the claws inward, so that none would harm her accidental or intentional, and wait until she had climbed in before heading outside into the sunlight and the glorious warmth once more.

The surrounding environment was quite beautiful when the metaphorical storm had passed and brought a brand new slate for those that had been fortunate in the darker hours prior.

First things first though...

Reaching into a pocket for the earlier mentioned necklace, the man placed it around his neck, leaving the ring for Vesper to climb upon and gain a firm hold.

He did not want her falling.

If, and only if, she had managed to become secured and comfortable would the avian spread those rainbow feathered wings and begin to beat them.

She was a little hesitant to get onto his hand, but after a moment, she was sitting down, holding onto one of his fingers to make sure she wouldn't fall. She looked around as he walked outside, surprised at how nice it was to be in the sun again.

She had been so close to never seeing the sun again, so close to never seeing anything again. Instead, she had been picked up by what seemed to be a nice person who genuinely wanted to see her happy and relaxed.

She carefully secured herself with the necklace, a bit nervous about the risk. She checked a couple of times to make sure she was secure, to make sure she wouldn't fall once he became airborne. "I... I think I'm secure... But you'll be careful, right?" She was still nervous, but was also a bit excited about the idea of flying.

Would he be...Of course! It made no sense that he would do something foolish or threatening when he had made such a genuine attempt to calm and open her up somewhat, to provide a method to see some good things since the night had almost been the final one for the mortal timespan.

Since she seemed good to go through, the avian would place some distance between them and the ground with repeated beats that harnessed useless air, until it was moved with each feathered stroke that pushed the pair up, and up, until the tree tops were in sight with ease, and the sky opened up like a dawn-blue ocean all around them.

The heat was grand and the sun was not without concern, hidden behind some white clouds that assured there would be no storm later.

Ah, nothing beat the clean air and the gentle pushes that come with spending the time just after the dawn on the wind.

"...not too bad a view, huh little one?"

She was silent at first, just taking in the view and feeling the wind. It was different from anything she had experienced, unique in a wonderful way. She had, on many nights, had dreams not unlike this, and she had several times thought of how it might be. It took her a moment to think of how to respond, to find the words to express how she felt about this new experience, "It's incredible... breath-taking."

She was much more relaxed now, far less suspicious and concerned. Her comment seemed insufficient to explain how she felt, what this meant to her. But she did know one thing that always seemed to help her express herself... Not only that, but she found that it tended to have an effect on others. She had been too tense and wary to properly use her talent and abilities earlier. But now... It was so nice up here, so calming and so beautiful to see so much so far.

So she started to sing. Her song wasn't in a language that could be easily recognized, but the sounds and words flowed together perfectly. But singing wasn't her only talent. When she sang, it seemed to carry a power of it's own, affecting those who heard it depending on the tones and emotion behind the songs she sang. Now that she was happy, relaxed and calm, her singing would duplicate the feeling in any who heard unless they had a resistance to certain forms of magic.

(2 X3)

A young 15 year old inu boy named Duncan simply grabs her with gentle yet firm force and hoists her into the air, right up to his eyes. He wasn't usually keen on hurting the humans, but today curiosity snagged him. His friends are always boasting about how good humans taste, so he wants to try it now himself. Unfortunately for the human girl in his giant hand, she was the test subject...

"Sorry," He apologizes with a sheepish grin, "But I really wanna see what you guys do taste like.." He then grabs the back of her shirt and raises her up, dangling her above his open mouth.

She whimpers in fear, trying to get a grip on his hand to keep from being dropped into his mouth, "Wait! Please! I can make it worthwhile not to kill me!" She twists and squirms around, finally managing to grab onto his finger, holding on as tight as she can. "Please don't kill me... please..."

The boy just blinks at her pleas, kind of feeling bad now, since he's remembering that she's a sentient being, too.. But he still manages a smirk at her as if it's no big deal. "Don't worry, I'm not gonna kill you." Before giving her time to respond he puts his finger in his mouth and uses his tongue to lick her off, making her tumble on top of his giant saliva covered tongue. He then slides his finger out and she finds herself in complete darkness while his tongue starts swishing her around, tasting her.

When his mouth closed completely again she cried out, sounding terrified and desperate, "No! Please no... Don't eat me... Please don't eat me... I don't want to die..." She's terrified, crying and starting to sound like she was gasping to get her breath. With so much saliva, she knows there has to be a strong urge to swallow it. When he finally pulls her out of his mouth and has her on his palm, she has curled up into a ball, hiding her face in her arms. She's clearly shaking, terrified. At some point during his tasting her, she slipped past the point of rational thought, panic taking hold and preventing her from realizing the change in situation. She gives no indication of understanding she is now outside again, nor any sign of realizing he had again clarified a lack of intent to make a meal of her. The entire day's events had just been too hard on her, and he was left with a human in his hand that was caught in a state of panic.
