Description Please read description.

I am currently limiting the number of rps I will do.

Things to consider:
I prefer paragraph/story style.
Capitalization, punctuation, and quality matter.
In general, longer is better. However...
I don't mind short posts some of the time, as long as you give me something to work with.

Your answers to the questions should be part of your 'intro post'. As in fitting the whole paragraph style rp format. And some form of character description should be included. Y'kinda gotta give me something to work with.

This is designed to go with giants, giant beings, or some form of intelligent predatory creature/being (naga, demi-dragon, dragon, etc)

The others are still a bit caught in in their own hunting, and offer quick goodbyes before pursuing the humans they can find. The girl gives no reaction to his putting her in his pocket, still curled up and shaking in fear.

It's a bumpy ride in his pocket, but soon she hears a few doors slam and the movement stops.. Duncan reaches in his pocket and grabs her in a fist, only to take her out and hold her in front of his face with a curious stare. "... Say something."

She had started to recover slightly during the trip, realizing she had been kept alive and was apparently going somewhere... She was still afraid, but also a bit confused. Was he saving her for later, not hungry enough to eat her right away? Saving her to taste whenever he wanted? Treat her like a toy until she eventually 'broke' and then eat her? All frightening ideas.

When he pulled her out of his pocket, she squirmed in his grasp, trying to get her arms loose from the firm hold, very uncomfortable with this. Her expression made it clear how uncomfortable and frightened she was as she squirmed and tried to get loose. She was eventually a little out of breath, going more or less limp in his hold as she let her gaze lower. Finally she spoke, her voice just over a whisper, "Please... no more... please... don't hurt me... don't eat me..."

"... I'm not going to hurt or eat you," He started as he sat on the bed, lowering her down away from his face. He saw and smelt the fear on her, but he didn't seem to care much.. "but the others would have, so I took you back here to my home so you'll be safer." He then places her on the bed beside himself. "Sorry for scaring you.. But I've never tasted a human before. My friends were right, you guys taste good.."

[Hope you don't mind if I jump in? I'm going to be using this guy here: [link] And I tend to text wall when rping. XD Just thought I'd let you know before hand. Anything in bold is him talking and anything in italics is his thoughts.]

Yo'! Watch where you're going scales! The young male grimiced as a rather mouthy demon snarled at him. Shoulders slumped a bit, great wings rustling slightly upon his back. This was honestly the last thing he needed today! Did you not hear me correctly there red? The dragon saytre suddenly found his personal space rudely invaded by the irate demon. It's not worth it, it's not worth it. Don't get caught up in a pointless fight....can't afford to do anything stupid and have to race off to another city again.... Drawing in a deep breathe the dragon cast his gaze down to the demon currently staring up at him.

Vulcan found even among other giants he was abnormally large. Then again he'd never encountered any other dragon saytres such as himself so he had no way of telling if his size was normal for his species. Given the reactions he typically received from the others, he was a rarity to behold. From the little he'd managed to find out the dragons remained seperate from the rest of society, hold up in their own strong holds, cloaked from all prying eyes by a combination of highly advanced technology and magic. Many seemed to both envy and fear him. Then again, why wouldn't they? Given his size he was more than capable of over powering any of them in a fight one on one. As to what would happen if a gang of them decided to attack? He'd never encountered such a situation before.

Vulcan was a strong fighter when it came to the use of weapons and his own body. He did his best to avoid having to rely on his natural abilities of pyrokenisis and electrokensis. In short, he was capable of controlling the elements of both fire and lightning. Despite the fact he loved his magic he found it unfair to use in fights unless the situation clearly called for it. A fight it was he was trying to avoid at this given moment. He was tired and hungry and the only thing he was interested in doing was finding some food and returning back to his newly established place of occupance. Trifling with a hungry dragon was suicidal. Vulcan did his best to control his urges but sometimes he simply couldn't help himself. On certain nights he found himself hunting what he'd come to call "the lesser giants."

Some might have labeled him as a cannibal. However the term could only be applied loosely seeing as his prey was a completely different species of giant verses himself. Vulcan could already feel his empty stomach tightening up, rebelling against him as it pleaded to be fed. Saliva began to build in his mouth, in the back of his mind already coveting what this demon before him would taste like. Swallowing his inappropriately timed salivation the male merely gave the demon a bored expression. This was one of the larger giants he'd encountered on his travels. The demon reached to just below his ribcage where as many others only stood to the dragon's waist or navel.

Considering the dragon's age, it was evident he would in deed grow more. As to if he would grow enough for the giants to become human sized when compared to him, only time would tell. Sorry I walked into you. I should have been paying more attention. the male's deep vocals rumbled forth, finally giving a response to the other. The demon merely cocked his head to the side, he seemed to be thinking twice now about picking a fight with the dragon satyre. He definately wasn't liking the sight of the talons upon his toes nor the claws upon his hands. And that long powerful tail of his looked as if it could squeeze the very life out of him in seconds! And now that he spoke, the demon certainly did not want to be anywhere near those lethal looking teeth! Good. Just so you know then. You might not encounter someone as nice as me next time! The demon puffed himself up as he spoke, trying to prevent his fear from showing through. With that being said he hurried off, wanting to put as much space as possible between himself and the dragon.

Vulcan merely shook his head and continued on his way. It didn't take him long to reach the edge of the city given his stride. He could have flown back to his accomidations much faster but he was simply too tired to do so. His dwelling was near the border to the human's territory. He prefered the relative peace and solitude to the cramped space and hussle of the city. Perhaps it was something to do with his size but the dragon found he couldn't stay in confind spaces for great lengths of time. No, he required the wide open heavens and massive forests and great rolling hills and mountains and flat plains. Footfalls were unusually soft for a creature his size, thick padding on his feet cushioned his weight helping him to remain stealthy when hunting. He was not like most giants who caused the earth to quake as they walked by. The earth remained silent and still as it normally was with his movements, unless of course he decided to flop down on the ground.

With his mind wandering aloof legs carried him of their own accord knowing the way to home. entering the forest now his head began to move, eyes sweeping through the trees, the only things he found which dwarfed him thus far, taking in all the sights as his keen ears were automatically trained on sound. Within five minutes he detected a soft russling. Sharp eye caught sight of something slipping under a bush. It could be a possible snack! Stooping down he reached under the shrub, quickly snatching up what had slipped under it. Before he even opened his clentched fist he knew what it was. He could tell from scent along, it was a human female. He felt her quaking in his hand, the poor thing scared to death! He drew his hand out from under the bush slowly uncurling his clawed fingers to get a better look at her. She was so tiny, the size of an insect compared to him! In all truth she wasn't even worth eating given her size. It would have been like swallowing a fly if he were human.

Still, he found himself curious about the taste of humans. He'd heard other talk about it and they seemed to really enjoy it! Even with her size, she might posess a bold, rich flavor! Sometimes the best things came in small packages. Golden huen eyes gazed down upon her shivering form, if she attempted to escape his hand she'd die upon impact to the ground. Deep red mane cascaded down his back, strands trailing over his shoulders, as his bangs fell in his eyes once more. Golden streaks seeming to glow in the dappled sunlight. So, now that he caught her, exactly what was he going to do with her?

((Wow, what a post! Impressive and I love it. Your character seems rather neat, and quite huge! I like him. In fact, I'm going to provide an opportunity for him to catch an alternate dinner of a better size.))

Vesper wasn't sure what to do anymore. First she was being chased by one predator, and just when she thought she had a chance at losing her pursuer, another creature caught her! She hadn't even looked yet, she didn't even want to see what she had come across now. She had hoped that she could live this close to where the giants were because or her talent, that she would be able to talk her way out of trouble. She hadn't expected to come across that fuzzy hunter. Now she just about gets away from the one, she gets grabbed by something different. It was overwhelming.

While he was examining his frightened catch, there was another noise from the underbrush as what looked to be a giant marten slid to a halt in front of him, having been apparently pursuing the human a moment ago. That would explain what lead to her coming out in the open- she had been chased. The marten was giant compared to her, but relatively small compared to him. Compared to most giants it would have been close normal weasel size, although a bit too large.

The marten stared in shock at the over-sized giant that stole its prey. It gained its senses fairly quickly, giving up on its prey and turning away, bolting into a burrow with a shriek. The burrow was deep enough that most it would fear wouldn't be able to reach it, but then again, it was dealing with a being bigger than it was used to seeing, thus having longer reach. The only problem was getting one's fingers bit.

[Glad you like it.^^ Unfortunately I'm kinda rusty at this, I haven't written or rp'd like this in over three years so you'll have to pardon as I scrape off the rust which has formed. I apologize ahead of time for any short responses that come up.]

Slowly the male unfurled his fingers one at a time, gazing upon the tiny creature nestled in his palm. Before he even splayed his fingers he could feel her body shivering violently, practically seizing and convulsing from pure terror! Despite her miniscule size he could easily smell the adrenaline saturating her blood, coursing through her viens as it provided a powerful enhancement to her senses, stimulating her muscles and increasing her reaction time. Not only that it would have pumped her full of temporary inhuman strength and speed as she had apparently chosen flight over fight originally when this instinct had been triggered.

The only thing was, what could have possible scared her this bad she had temporarily devolved to nothing more than a frantic, frenzied animal desperate beyond all comprehension to escape her looming fate? The answer to Vulcan's question made it's presence well known only mere seconds later. Golden optics immediately locked with those of the marten as it practically smashed right into the dragonoid's left foot! For a brief moment the two merely stared at each other, the marten suddenly broke the stalemate and scampered back down into its den. As it turned tail, the young dragon caught a slight whift of something on the air, something all too familair to him.

It was the scent of fear. He knew it wasn't from the tiny human female he currently held in his grasp, no, this was a completely different smell all together. He knew it originated from the marten as it turned tail and fled. He could practically see the scent wafting up from the entrance to the creature's den it was so strong! Serpent like tongue slithered forth from his jaws, licking at the corners of his mouth before retracting back between those lethal fangs. It hovered temporarily prodding at the tips of his top canines, something the beast often did when he was contimplating something.

His stomach clentched angerly, balling up inside of him, snarling at him and causing pain for not having been filled yet! The human was pointless to bother eating, she was simply too small. However he did not let her go just yet. In the back of his mind he knew if he let her go this close to the giant's city she would only be snatched up and eaten by some other creature. No, he would keep her safe for the time being. But as of now, he had other matters to attend to.

Vulcan was most unusual for a saytre dragon. Not only was he abornally large, he was also warm blooded. Few dragon species were warm blooded, many of them were either amphibious or reptiles. Despite the armored scales on his chest and stomach and the large scales on his knees and the thick, smooth hide covering the lower half of his body, Vulcan was also a mammal. His mother had given live birth to him rather than hatch him from an egg. He suckled from her as a newborn rather than live off the egg yoke stored in his tail. His body remained at a constant temperature rather than rely upon the sun to warm him. He had a vibrant mane of hair both in his true dragon form and his saytre form.

The only thing slightly different about him compared to most mammals was his genitals. Like most males he sported a sheath. But on the flip side he did not have external testicals. No, they remained inside his body; it was a new design of evolution. It made little sense to have them be external, after all it only submitted them to easy injury and thus decreased his chances of ever passing his genes onto the next generation. Them being internal kept them safe and secure, increasing his chances of successfully passing on his genes.

All in all he was a true, blue, mammal. And being a mammal meant he possessed a much faster metabolic rate, meaning he had to consume more food than a reptile and he must eat on a regular basis. And now the male had just been presented with an ample oppertunity to quell his hunger for a bit. Despite the human appearing skin on his hands, the flesh was thick and durable, he was no stranger to pain a bite from the marten wouldn't be much to contend with. Besides, one of his abilities was to heal rapidly.

Vulcan was no fool however, he was an experienced hunter and he knew a thing or two when it came to catching feral prey verses stalking sentient targets. He knew the marten would have been hold up in its den, teeth and claws ready to lash out at anything which dared enter the tunnel. However it would only bite and claw just enough to cause the predator to recoil, giving the marten enough time to slip out the back entrance to its den. Trying to dig the marten out was pointless as it would only expend more energy than he would gain upon eating it. No, this required a delicate touch.

With the human still curled up shivering in his left hand he would make use of his right hand and his tail to capture his prey. Quickly spotting the second entrance to the den, Vulcan uncoiled his long tail and began to thread it down the hole. His plan was to scare the marten into turning around, thus allowing him to reach in and grab it from behind, avoiding a bite to the hand. The skin on his tail was easily as dense as armor, the marten would be more than likely to break its teeth should it bite!

On his knees the dragon leaned forward, reaching into the primary hole, ready to grab the marten once it spun around. He felt the tip of his tail bump into something and sure enough the marten immediately spun around, attempting to sink its teeth into his hide but to no avail. In that instant he closed his fingers about the scruff of the creature's neck and hauled it out of the hole. No sooner had he pulled it out did the creature begin to flail about, desperate to get loose.

Upon hearing the frightened cries of the marten, the human girl moved her arm away from her face to peek out at what was going on. Upon seeing the marten now captured as well, she became slightly less frightened, relaxing just a little. It seemed more like the marten was the targeted prey, not herself, because of size. But then why had she been picked up at all? That part didn't make sense, but as best she could figure, she was most likely safe. But it seemed her pursuer was not. She moved to a crawling position, hesitantly making her way to get a better view of what was going on.

She couldn't guess what he might want with her yet. Would he eat her anyway? Could he somehow tell there was something different about her? She couldn't think well enough to try to figure it out, the marten was making such a fuss she could hardly hear herself think. She could take care of that. Now that she wasn't running, she could take care of the marten. But she had to make sure she didn't do the same to the one holding her. That was okay, the marten was a significantly lesser creature, so altering the tune to make it less effective on creatures of higher intelligence.

Both dragon and marten would hear a musical tune, the human woman was singing now. The dragon would start to feel vaguely drowsy, although not by too much. Not enough to make him drop what he held or need to sit down, but enough that it was noticeable. The marten, however, had a much stronger reaction. It stopped struggling as much almost instantly, and after only half a minute, its head drooped. Its breathing started to slow, and by the time a full minute had passed of the singing, the marten was sound asleep and actually snoring slightly.

The girl curled back up, wrapping her arms around herself, crossed over her chest instead of hiding her face. She tucked her legs to herself again and she stared downward at the hand she lay on, going back over the possibilities in her mind, trying to figure out if the odds were in her favor now or not. Meanwhile, the dragon now had much easier prey to deal with.

With the marten grasped firmly in his hand the dragon was enjoying the fruitless struggles of his prey. Vulcan was known for his rather cat like behavior when hunting. Many times he would do what was refered to as 'catch and release.' Meaning he would capture his prey, toy with it then allow it to take off running before he pounced on it again. It was a bit of sadistic pleasure but it was how he originally learned to hunt as a child. He grew up on his own for the most part, his folks having died only several days after he was born. For the first couple years of his life he was actually cared for and raised by a human.

From what his caregiver had told him, his parents had been killed by another band of dragons who were looking to take over their territory. He had been the only one of four offspring born to survive. Apparently he had crawled into a crack in the stone of the den walls and remained hidden from the rampaging dragons. If it hadn't been for that explorer he surely would have died as well. Perhaps it was this sentimental memory, that he owed his very life to a human which prevented him from preying upon them when he was smaller and they would have been a more suitable meal for him. Or perhaps his instincts were simply delayed in kicking in. Who knew. With dragons, anything they were capable of over powering was a meal to them. Many dragons even cannibalised each other from what he had heard in his travels.

The explorer had originally taught Vulcan how to hunt and kill just as his birth parents would. He took Vulcan on hunting trips with him, showing him what to do. Then he began bringing back live prey for him, telling him to copy the killing method he showed him. The teaching method worked and soon enough the dragon was hunting for himself. Sometimes he still enjoyed the game, he didn't see what he was doing as wrong or sadistic as many other would have, he was only doing what he knew he enjoyed.

Watching the marten squeal in his grasp, fighting tooth and nail for its life, it only served to further wet the dragon's appetite, drawing out his feral side. A smirk had begun to curl across his lips, beginning on the side of his face the human in his hand was currently unable to see. He felt her moving around on his palm, her weight shifting as she got to her hands and knees, crawling towards the edge of his hand. He shot a quick glance at her when he knew she wasn't looking at him, checking to make sure she wasn't going to fall. Several moments later the male began to feel slightly dazed, as though a fog was forming in his brain. It was at this he turned his full attention to the girl he held.

She was singing...he felt the marten suddenly go limp in his grasp. It had fallen asleep! It was then he knew this was no ordinary human he'd come upon. No, for her to be capable of something like this, she had to be at least part Siren if not a pure blooded Siren! Vulcan returned his attention to the sleeping marten, well, she had ended his fun. It wasn't that big of a deal really. He was starting to grow tired of it anyways. With a mere flick of his wrist, the creature's spine was snapped clean in half, killing it instantly.

Without another glance or even saying a word to the girl, he sat her up on his right shoulder so he could use both his hands. Sharp claws sank deep into the flesh of the marten. But rather than tear it apart, the dragon began using his claws in the same fashion as a skinning knife. He began cutting away the skin and pelt from the creature, exposing the meat underneath. Though he was more than capable of fully digesting the fur, he did not like the taste of it and it made his throat itch. So he merely removed it, however he would save the pelt, he could make something out of it.

Within several minutes the dragon had completely removed the pelt. His smirk from earlier had vanished, replaced with a disappointed if not depressed scowl. Without the fur the marten only appeared half its size. This wasn't exactly the amount of meat he was hoping for but beggers couldn't be choosers; it was the only food available to him as of now. Sighing lowly he raised the marten to his lips, jaws parting the former predator fitting with ease into the dragon's maw. He hadn't even opened his jaws halfway, the marten was indeed small compared to Vulcan. For him, this was merely a snack. He'd have to hunt again soon, within a few hours for a real meal.

Tilting his head back the male used his tongue to draw the marten into his mouth, it was halfway trailing forth from his jaws by the time its head hit the back of the dragon's throat. Giving a slight toss of his head, the marten was pulled down into his throat by the strong muscles. It caused a slight lump to form and show on the outside as it stretched his esophagus a bit. With a final toss of his head, Vulcan succeeded in gulping the marten down whole, it quickly vanishing under his collar bone. Serpent tongue flickered out, licking away traces of blood lingering about his lips.

With the marten's pelt held in one hand the dragon reached around, plucking the girl off his shoulder, closering her up gently in his fist once more. He stood and began walking again, making his way back to his home.

She was still watching the marten as he quickly snapped its neck, and she gave a slight shudder at how easily he ended the life of a creature that moments ago was about to end hers. It was quite the reminder that while she was safe from what had originally pursued her, she was now at the mercy of something much more powerful, potentially much more dangerous. Escaping the weasel did not make her safe.

She put a hand over her mouth to fight back a yelp as sudden movement took her to his shoulder. She was surprised she had managed to keep quiet, surprised she could hold back the yelp from being both startled and afraid. Watching him so easily use his claws to remove the pelt of the marten only served to intimidate her further. Her eyes were wide as she watched the predator that pursued her vanish into the maw of a superior predator. Another shudder passed through her as she watched the brief lump when the marten made it's descent.

She stared blankly for a moment when the marten was out of sight and he licked his lips. It wasn't until the shadow of his hand passed over her that she realized he was reaching towards her again, and she attempted to scramble back from his hand, but there was no where to go and his hand was far too large to dodge. As it closed around her, she curled up, unable to completely fight the fear that was attempting to take hold of her.

She was still for a while, hesitant to look again at her surroundings, but eventually she uncurled and opened her eyes. It was too dark to see anything, but at least she wasn't being squeezed or held painfully. In fact, she thought she might be able to move around a bit. She attempted to stand but couldn't get her balance, so instead she reached out a bit with her hands to try to get an idea if she had much space or not. She tried moving around different directions a bit, to get a better idea of her surroundings. And to see if there was openings, some way to look outside and see where he was taking her.

It didn't take long for her to settle down again, laying on her side and wrapping her arms around herself. She wasn't sure what she should do, running over the possibilities in her mind. Why was he taking her? Would he hurt her, or would she be safe with him? Many predators ate humans, but he seemed larger than most she had seen. Would that make a difference? What use could he have for her? Did he figure out her abilities and think she might be useful in some way with them? Or would he think her only use was as a snack? Perhaps he intended to use her like bait to catch more food that was of a size similar to the marten or bigger. She rest a hand over her forehead, getting a mild headache as she tried to think through all of it, as she tried to figure out what her odds of survival were now.

The journey back to the dragon's place of dwelling was an uninterrupted one thankfully. Vulcan wasn't exactly in the mood to contend with any unwelcome presence, especially those of other giants. The male was a loner by nature, never exactly the type to socialize unlike many of the other species he had encountered. Despite having nearly reached full maturity the dragon satyr still knew very little about his own species. Once or twice he was tempted to set off in a journeu to locate his own kind but after giving the matter some thought he decided against it.

Vulcan was an outcast, a stranger in more ways than one. So far he ceased to fit or rather be socially/ethically acceptable to any population he'd encountered thus far through-out his life. In one or two instances the male was lucky enough to have made a friend but other than that he was still regarded as a threat, an outsider by everyone else. Not that he really cared about fitting in with the crowd. Far from it. Vulcan's only wish was to be able to walk down the street to his job or do errands without the constant stares, pointing and whispers behind his back. So what if he was a little different? Honestly what was the big deal? Yes he dwarfed every giant he'd come across so what? Yes he was a dragon, so what? Yes he was immortal, big whoop. Lot of fat help that little aspect was.

To be immortal, the silent observer, keeper of history so to speak. Forever was he to watch the flow and ebb of time and the events which played out. He would exist until time itself ceased to flow. Contrary to the thought Vulcan actually wanted to see how all life would come to an end, to stand there on the cusp of the universe as the lone observer to the fate which would befall all living creatures, mortal and immortal alike. Even with this thought in mind the dragon knew his existance would be mundane at best less something occur to prove it interesting.

And something had, something which lead to the male's current state of affairs. On one particular hunting trip several years back, the beast had been on the trail of what he thought would be the largest quary he'd ever encountered! For days he tracked it relentlessly through manners of terrian. Whoa be it to his greatest suprise when he finally caught up with his target! What he had been stalking was none other than another rare subspecies of dragon! Not only that, this particular one was female. Truth be told she knew he was hunting her and she decided to make it into a game of sorts, testing his limitations of both body and mind.

He recalled that day so clearly, as if it had only just happened. He remembered her graceful form and poise as she strode up to him, teasing him with a tender claw trailing down the side of his face. Her eyes, they were so beautiful, filled with unknown wisdome and strength. In that moment, he knew she had him. For the next several years the two spent every day together, living on the edge. Every day their feelings for one another blossomed until finally bursting forth. Vulcan was the first to admit his love for the female, she too spoke of her love for him, of how she desired to always be by his side; of how she knew from the moment he discovered her as they stood face to face in the mountains that he was the one for her.

But all good things must come to an end and their time together was no different. One evening Vulcan was returning home from a hunting exploit, fresh kill in hand when he saw their home overrun with creatures he'd never for the life of him encountered before! Racing to his lover's aid the male faught his way through the throngs of demonlike creatures only to be met with the sight of his mate clashing blades with an even greater monster. She managed to slay it but not without taking serious damage. As he helped to heal her wounds she whispered to him she was leaving.

Vulcan was dumbfounded, he couldn't understand how this could have possibly premoted such a reaction. She merely offered him a weak smile before admitting to him she'd been keeping a secret. Truth was, she was not a native of this dimension she was the deposed and rightful heir to the trone in her own lands and not that war had befallen her home, she must return and bring peace to it. She promised him she would return for him, return and whisk him away from these lands forever to sit by her side on the high throne as her king.

It had been over four years now since that horrid night and still it burned brighter than anything else in his memory. Chances were she was no longer alive. But he couldn't bring himself to admit she was dead, not yet. Vulcan had no clue why, it was going against every instinct he possessed, but he still held out hope that one day he would see her again, standing before a portal to another realm, smiling at him with hand outstretched, ready to take him on another journey.

A shake of his cranium was required in order to pull his aloof mind forth from impossible dreams and pointless memories. Vulcan could not afford to be distracted out here, he was crossing through some rather dangerous territory now. Under normal circumstances the beast would have taken the long route around the forest rather than pass through it. This territory was under the control of a particular nasty gang of Nagas. They didn't take too kindly to tresspassers and certainly did not appreciate being upstaged in terms of size and brutality. Something they already saw Vulcan as being guilty of. The dragon didn't give a rat's ass about what the Naga's thought or rather didn't think.

He never bothered them and thats all which mattered. He gave their land a wide birth when hunting as such they couldn't accuse him of stealing food. For all their talk they seemed a bit hesistent to say the least in confronting Vulcan the last time he took a short cut through here. They said they were going to be nice and let him off with a warning but next time the consquences would be severe. The dragon didn't believe a word of it. Besides, at this time of day he knew the entire gang was up at the local bar drinking themselves into a stupor, he had nothing to worry about.

Quickly exiting the Naga's turf Vulcan's mind began drifting again, wandering back to its foolish dreams. It might not have shown on him readily but he'd become a better person for having met the female. Before he had been a complete hermit, thinking only of himself and his own survival. She had taught him so much during their time together, bringing a bit of light to his darkness, drawing out the humanity he possessed and soothing the savage beast he was. It was thanks to her that he now held the miniscule human girl tenderly in his fist. Even with his natural affinity to avoiding humans as prey, Vulcan would have simply left the girl on her own years back after killing the marten.

But now, he felt compelled to make sure she was alright, to keep her safe from further harm until she desired to strike out on her own again. He cared for the life of another unlike before. Still, he could not help but wonder exactly how this particular female managed to penitrate so deep into the giant's lands without having been caught earlier. It was safe to assume that little Siren song of her's had something to do with it. Music to soothe the savage beast then huh? How original.... he thought to himself. Glancing down at his clentched fist the dragonoid could feel the tiny human stirring about, possibly looking for an escape.

He made sure to keep his fist firmly closed so as to not allow her to slip forth and plumet to her untimely demise. Glancing up the dragon could see his home off in the distance. Good, he was tired of all this walking. Movng silently through the dense fog wafting off the nearby lake Vulcan made his way up to the massive hand crafted cabin. Rather han head directly inside he trodded around back to a large barn like structure. Throwing open one of the doors he stepped inside, this was the tanning room where he processed the hides and pelts of the creatures he killed. The marten's pelt needed to be dried and preserved before he could do anything else with it.

Shoving several skins aside he hung the marten's pelt on an empty rung before turning and walking out. Shutting the door behind him the male poked his head into another large structure. No sooner had he opened the door did the smell of spices come cascading out. The room itself was empty however this was the drying shack where the male processed meat into jerky. A sigh escaped his lips at the sorry sight of the shed. He couldn't even remember the last time he'd managed to catch enough prey to warrent using it.

Grumbling to himself the male turned tail and went back to the cabin. Groping around his his pocket he pulled out a set of keys, unlocking the front door he quickly stepped inside and shut the massive structure behind him. Reaching over he quickly locked the door with several sets of chains and dead bolts. For a brief moment he rested his back against the cool wood of the door before standing once again. He flipped a switch on the wall, turning on a few lights. He might have been off the grid but that certainly did not mean he was without electricity or running water!

Dropping the bag slung around his shoulder to the floor Vulcan headed for the kitchen to grab a drink. With a bottle of water from the fridge in hand he made his way into the living room and flopped down on the large over stuffed couch. Eyes fluttered shut momentarily, long low breath escaping from him. The cabin was much larger on the inside than it appeared from the outside. Perhaps that was partly do to the completely open concept of the interior lay out. Cracking his neck from side to side the dragon finally hauled himself into a sitting position.

Leaning forward he set his fist on the coffee table, slowly unfurling his fingers, revealing the tiny human inside. He allowed her to slowly slip from his palm onto the hard surface. Withdrawing his hand he sat back, merely staring at her for a moment before averting his gaze. He'd saved her life, now he hadn't the slightest clue as of what to do next.

Despite his missing eye, Sheb still managed to spot the girl dart behind the tree. He gave a submissive sigh; his "friends" were going to bug him about trying one until he was sent to an early grave. Besides, maybe they are as tasty as the idiots made them out to be. He hopped over to the tree base, clearing acres with the springlike force of his canid legs. He snatched her up, hooking one of his claws along the back of her outfit. He looked at her unsure; was this little shrimp really worth all this trouble? He shrugged and opened his mouth, ready to pop her in.

She cried out in fear, grabbing onto his finger to try to keep from being dropped into his mouth, "Please... Don't kill me... I.. I've done nothing to you... to any of you... If... if you don't kill me... I... I'll make it worthwhile for you! I can do things... nice things... please...."

Many of the predators were enjoying themselves, devouring humans quickly, never giving them a chance to say a word. Some may even be unaware the humans can talk, treating them like simple prey animals instead of intelligent beings.

He closed his eye, trying to ignore her protest. A sudden thundercrash rang through the air before he could eat her. The sound caught him off gaurd and his entire body jolted upright and his tail stiffened. He almost dropped the girl in his shock, causing him to handle her like a hot potatoe for a few moments. Right after the interruption, a great downpour started. He looked around to make sure the others handn't seen him. He was clearly embarassed; in fact, if he wasn't purple he'd probably be blushing. He gave an frustrated sky and shot an accusing glance at the heavens. "Really?" He commented dryly.

She cried out when nearly dropped, quickly moving to grab a hold of one of his fingers, managing to get a more secure hold now. "Please... I promise... I can make it worthwhile for you..." A cool wind joined the downpour, leading to a few shivers from some of the hunters, and many of them moving to head home now with their last catches. "Maybe... maybe if I demonstrate?" She closed her eyes, still trying to keep a grip on his hand, and started to sing softly. Suddenly, despite the cool breeze and rain, it didn't feel so cold, it didn't seem such a problem to be out in it. As if a warmth glow had started to form within to fill him up. She stopped her song quickly and the warmth was gone immediately.

He looked down at her, confused by her singing. His eye widened as he felt the warmth coming from her into his body. He looked behind him to see most of the hunters going home. Still, there were a few determined ones still searching about. He quickly turned to her and spoke in a hushed voice. "Alright, alright. You win. I won't eat you, but I do need to take you home without people noticing.

She nodded slightly after a moment, staring up at him. She was still clearly afraid of him, but was glad for at least a little hope of survival. "You... won't regret it... He would be able to feel her shaking slightly still, clearly worried that he might change his mind and eat her anyway.

She cried out in surprise and fear when he indicated where he would carry her. She had insufficient time to try to protest his actions, but he would feel her squirming around, obviously frightened. It took her a fair bit of time to calm down at all, but eventually she accepted that while this was not an ideal place to be carried, he didn't seem to intend to kill her. At that point, she curled up tight and remained as still as possible, making the rest of the rest of the trip no doubt more comfortable for both of them.

He crouched down, storing tension in the springlike muscles of his legs. He released the tension and shot straight into the air. His wings caught a gust of air, and he straightened himself on the current. From then on it was relatively smooth sailing to the small apartment he had rented. It wasn't much, but it had a balcony for easy access and was cheap.

Meanwhile, her squirming made him pull a face. She certainly was a mouth full. However, she did have a surprisingly good taste. Still, that taste wasn't nearly as good as the prospect of maybe cutting his heating bills in half if this worked out. He turned her over a bit in his mouth. It's was rather uncomfortable to have a stationary object just sitting on your tongue.

She was tense as he moved her around with his tongue, fighting back a frightened whimper. It was easy to notice the steadily increasing saliva, and it really worried her. She was concerned about what he was going to do when that significant amount of saliva triggered an urge to swallow. That was one trip she really did not want to take. The situation brought to mind a time when she had gotten some hard candy. She gave a slight shudder. Was that part of what he would put her through in exchange for her life. Not the most pleasant idea, but better than the alternative. So she did her best to be still and calm, hopeful the trip would be over zoom.

He hovered a bit and landed on the balcony, almost coverting all of the momentum of his decent into walking immediately. He entered his small, run down, $75 dollars a month pad, and made a face. His mouth had watered a little on the trip and he did not want to drool on himself when he took the girl out. He pinned her underneath his tongue and swallowed the excess saliva. He then took her out and placed her on the end table near his bed, which he fell back on, causing the metal frame under the matress to groan. He stretched out his arms and turned towards her. "Well, here we are. Home sweet home. How much of this place do ya think you can heat up."

Once she was out, she started to run her hands through her hair, both to remove saliva and to get out the tangles gained during her running. She looked up at him when he questioned her, frowning slightly, "I... think you misunderstood my abilities... It is difficult to explain the specifics... But I do not alter a place so much as I influence what a person feels. If I use the warmth song, the room would remain the same, but those who heard would feel a pleasant warmth. The feeling would remain for a time, depending on the spell's strength and environmental factors, and the person could move any distance from me or the area I sang, and the feeling would linger. One could step out into a blizzard and feel comfortable, although such extreme conditions would quickly wear out the effect... While I don't alter the environment at all, while the warmth song continues to effect, cold will have no adverse effects on the one experiencing the pleasant effects. Warmth is only one of many effects I can cause... My potential influence on an environment is limited... Do you understand better now?"

The sounds of music seemed to calm her and she closed her eyes, listening for a while. After a few moments of listening to the notes from the sax, she started to hum softly, which created a faint feeling of warmth and calm. After a short while of humming she started to sing softly, taking the faint warmth to a more comfortable feeling, like the warmth of sitting by a fireplace on a cold day or the feeling of a blanket fresh from the drier. This warmth was combined with a relaxing feeling like how one feels right after a massage, the normal tension and aches seeming to have melted away. It seemed that not only did she use music in the form of song to use her powers, but listening to music seemed to have a calming effect on her.

Sheb looked sideways at her with great intrest. So she liked music? No surprising, perhaps, due to the nature of her magic. Still, a smile formed at the corner of his mouth as he began to play a real song. It was an old jazz diddy he learned when he first began and was very simple, but still held it's own. He hadn't had time to properly tune the sax since he got here, but the notes still came out ok. Only a few were slightly flat. He kept checking back on his new pet, curious about what she would do.

She sang along with the tune he played, although not in a language he would recognize. As she had explained, it provided the pleasant warmth, but as she relaxed better, the song helped her to relax well. She continued and improved as she went, increasing the pleasant feeling of her abilities. Now aside from the pleasant warmth and relaxing feeling, there was an indescribable pleasant feeling of overall being, as if everything was just as it should be and there was no reason for worries.

After a couple moments, there was a faint scent as well to the air, as if someone had lit some nice incense to go with the pleasant atmosphere of the moment. She was quickly making it obvious that it had been a good idea to spare her and make use of her talents.

She looked up at him, smiling, "I just was." It was truth, she hadn't really been thinking about him being there, and she hadn't been intentionally activating a spell. I mean... there's more differences between the several larger beings... And they don't tend to harm each other... So why should size make such a difference when other differences do not?"

She crossed her arms, as if wrapping them around to hold herself, to simulate the feeling of being comforted by another, "Many of those who are in those villages... She wondered if there were many who were against it, or many who were at least slightly bothered by it. It was something she would need to think on... Perhaps there was a way more could be made to understand what they were doing. Maybe others could be made to see the opposite side of the board.

I refuse to be like those that use size as an advantage in order to hurt and kill any who are smaller, any who are vulnerable. So if there is any alternative, I refuse to use my abilities to hurt or kill, I refuse to use my strengths in a manner like larger beings use their size as a strength."

She looked towards the window, her arms crossed, "I saw my mother demonstrate how to use these vocal abilities as a weapon... And I have practiced it in solitude where others wouldn't be hurt so that if necessary, I could protect myself and others. Had I been close enough to some of the others out in that field, I probably would have tried to save them... But with too much distance, had I tried to target the ones pursuing and catching them, I easily could have killed whoever I tried to save... I've seen the end result of using such abilities... I saw my mother use hers against a predator... It was not a pleasant sight... If possible, I intend to avoid seeing someone, large or small, lie twitching on the ground bleeding out ears, eyes, and such... It is neither quick nor painless, and I found the sight..."
