Description The price of dedication is to believe in some thing so deeply as to go as far as sacrificeing ones self for the protection of that belief...
"To the everlasting glory of the Infantry..."
Tribute to Robert A. Heinlen's "Starship Troopers."
But I dare not put it in the fanart section even though thats what it is. But be warned though, this Mobile Infantry armor design is my own, it has nothing to do with the movie, games or CG anime.
Done in Inks and correction fluid! Critique would be heavly appreciated for this one.

Lawlz! Umm... shouldn't you wipe all that up and get that key board fixed?

lol thanks, I can see quite a few things wrong with this drawing and I honestly don't think it does any justice to the Mobile Infantry. This suit is more fantasy then it is sci fi. If i where to design a mobile Infantry suit then I would have to do some research on jet engines and make the suit look like it could actually work.

Oh, wow, this is simply brilliant, you did an excelent work with the shading and the shines, the use of blue really highlited the picture, it also add it an air of energy to it. I don't see anything I'd improve here, it's so detailed and well managed!

Thanks!
I am a little surprized that you notice the little bits of blue in this piece. That was the experimental result of me useing white out (Correction Fluid) to make high lights. for some reason when it touched the black ink it turned to a shade of blue.

You should get a book on body anatomy studies. It will do wonders to spruce up your work. Also, that is a very nice muzzle flash effect there.

I like this work a lot. I remember seeing it before ages ago, and since I have an account, I daresay I'll fav it.

Since it says "Advanced Critique Encouraged" I'll offer a few points of what I think:
1) The only thing that bothers me is the soldier's pose. While most of it is intense and dramatic, the legs give it kind of a stiff/constricted look (something I've done here and there).
2) The arm is very well drawn. In my opinion, that's a very difficult perspective to capture.
3) The angle of the top of the gun doesn't seem to match up with the hand, though...
4)I think the creatures are very well designed and shaded. Extremely unique and creative.
5) Same goes for the suit.

And that's that from me.

Another amazing job!!

THANK YOU... Finnaly some one has some thing useful to say!
I knew some thing was off on the gun and I ended up eraseing it and re drawing over and over again getting the same result each time. Eventualy the paper couldnt take it any more so I went with what I had. In addition, my time was limmited for this piece. If I had more time then I would have actualy designed the suit beforehand, instead all I got to do is make simple sketches but none of the details. Same goes for the creatures whose design I didnt concentrate on as much since I never planed to reveal thier whole bodies. Which, by the way, if drawn the bugs would heavly resemble centipeeds with human like torso's and odd looking folded arms that can swing almost 360 degrees from the main elbow. They are kinda like reverse praying-mantis arms with axes at the end that swing in a wide arch. Wierd concept huh? As for the legs, I attribue that to simply poor planing and perspective issues. If I would have done this over again then I would have given the soldier a more hunched posture from a lower perspective with a wider more combative stance. Thanks for the insight!

No problem.

But with those limitations you mentioned, I now have more respect for the piece.

As for weird concepts, I'd certainly encourage them.

Yeah I know! There is one show and 2 movies of Starship Toopers and none of them follow the book clearly!!! This is simply my interperitation of the suits from the book. There are other better designs out there...
