Description Support your most important Civil Right this January 19 with Gun Appreciation day!

With Civil rights under constant attack by oppressive bullies in the media and government, we need to speak up and challenge those in power that take advantage of the little guy.

Do you feel disgusted by the political ghouls using tragedy to suppress civil rights? Do you feel tired of news agencies targeting innocent citizens?

Well your money is your best weapon, lets all buy a gun this Jan 19th and let the moocher-in-chief know "we don't support him" and that "he has no mandate."

When you get your paycheck Friday, keep enough money to buy a firearm. Any firearm.

Even if it's a gun from a pawn shop under $99 you will still help overwhelm the ATF and send a message that any laws passed against guns will make us vote against those politicians. We have a voice too!

Support Civil Rights the January 19th!

What will you do with your guns? Shoot people? If nobody had guns except for the military (imagine soldiers in hissy fights) violent crimes would be much harder.

"What will you do with your guns?"

Plenty.  Ever heard of hunting?  How about target shooting?

" Shoot people?"

If the situation justifies the use of lethal force for self defense.

"If nobody had guns except for the military (imagine soldiers in hissy fights) violent crimes would be much harder."

Tell that to all those people that died in Paris.  Or the people that have been butchered by the cartels in Mexico.  Or the countless thousands who have been killed by ISIS and other terrorist groups, the majority of which have been unarmed and defenseless.  Speaking of Mexican cartels, one of them actually packed up and left after a bunch of citizens armed themselves and began fighting back because the government, the only people that you think should have guns, were either in cahoots with the cartels or were too incompetent to deal with the problem.

Also, banning something doesn't just make it go away.  Look at how well prohibition of liquor went.  Look how well drug bans have worked.  You can't honestly sit there and tell me with a straight face that you think banning guns is gonna stop criminals from getting guns.

Also, I'm getting rather tired of people treating the +80 million gun owners in this country as if they're criminals because a very minescule fraction of the population chooses to commit crimes with guns.

I come from a country where guns are totally banned.  The only thing you are allowed is a 22 Rifle and Aguila ammo(special gun powerless ammo), while the Carteleros have Rocket Propelled Grenades, Mortars, fully automatic assault rifles, heavy machine guns, auto grenade launchers, even at times Tanks....

They get anything they want by bribing an Army general to let them have what ever they want!  And our government blames the United States for all these weapons!

...um,

If government instates a weapons ban, then by default, those that comply with the ban and give up their guns are law-abiding, and anybody that does not, is breaking the law.

How exactly would government be able to track down every last criminal in the entire country, and disarm them while still letting us keep our weapons?  That sounds like a Sisyphean task to me...

ManOfSecrets In reply to Marzipanzers [2014-02-07 16:30:37 +0000 UTC]

A weapons ban is never going to happen, one because of the impossibility of tracking all the weapons and two because the right to own a weapon is guaranteed under the United States Constitution. This argument doesn't make any sense at all.

To me, it's just retarded how people want to keep guns out of the hands of the public.
It seems like people only notice guns when they are involved in something bad.
Great work on this

vonmeer In reply to nanashi89 [2013-01-18 06:00:12 +0000 UTC]

Yes he did, but America elected him anyway. 8% of republicans refused to vote for Romney, effectively committing the same treason as those who elected Obama. We chose a dictator, of course he uses kids as props...they all do. Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Hussein all these jerks do.

Treason is a big word, but knowing Obama was targeting Civil Rights how else can these turds be seen? Republican's proved themselves to be a weak, disloyal and ideologically infantile party by "not voting for a Mormon".

Democrats and independents got snookered, and few are outright traitors looking to undermine civil rights of fellow Americans. This was the pool who voted Obama in. I don't blame them all, I know a ton of mislead idiots all with good intentions. There is about a 20% though that are openly unpatriotic and seek to limit civil rights. We can't argue or warm their hearts to freedom.

I'm a Libertarian Catholic, and a self made "millionaire". I voted for the best victor (Romney) against America's greatest enemy. FDR, Eisenhower, Nixon, Clinton and Obama all pissed on our rights. Osama was an enemy but never a threat to our freedoms, it was an over-reactive government that harmed our freedoms.

America's greatest enemies are not Osama bin Laden...he never had a vote. He could kill a few thousand but could never endanger the civil rights of millions. Only political hacks can do that. We brought this horror on ourselves.

I fear the votes of the weak and stupid more than any terrorist poser. Osama will never hurt America as much as Obama has...and plans to harm further.

9/11 rallied us, 11/6 divided us forever. It's a damn shame because Obama could have done good as a president. He failed to do anything useful beyond destroying the dollar. (Not to sound messed up, but I'm getting rich on the dying American Dollar.)

So I'm as angry as you are, and I'm not going to let Obama limit me. I know the ammo taxes are going to kill America's gun culture in a single generation. I have no kid's though and I gave myself a 40K raise this year so I'll keep shooting unrestricted even at a $1 a bullet tax.

If your not rich though, I'd freak out and make sure no anti-gun politician won any elections again. Even if you can't afford a gun, show up at a local gun store and support these guys.

These guy's are the real hero's of freedom today, investing in a dangerous market so all of us can live free.

God bless you and every gunowner in America. Your the best our nation has!

A noble sentiment, but I'm not too sure about the font, it is a little, erm... Third Reich, probably not the image that we responsible gun owners would like to be associated with (yes, I know there is no link, but the media today won't let facts get in the way of a good story).

vonmeer In reply to SWAT-Strachan [2013-01-16 22:52:33 +0000 UTC]

Thanks but it's a totally different font from anything German, It's close to some monastic scripts and it's meant to be associated with the Constitution, Bill of Rights etc.... Regardless..

Honestly I can give a damn what the media, Obama/Feinstein or anyone else thinks at this point. They will do as they do, and no reason or logic will sway them.

It's not like we are dealing with sane people, people with Hoplophobia (Fear of weapons) are incapable of critical thinking where they need to address their phobia.

Arguing with them is as difficult as getting someone with a fear Dogs to get one as a pet. It's as powerful and overwhelming for them as the outdoors is to an agoraphobic.

Like gun free zones (AKA late term abortion centers) where parents send their helpless victims..err..children. Any thinking person see's how stupid and irresponsible these zones are, but the sufferers of Hoplophobia are incapable of seeing it.

It makes no sense using logic to argue "why" what their doing is foolish/irresponsible/delusional/etc. Logic will be met with emotion as that's how they argue.

It's frustrating, aint it?

Funny thing is how the youth will respond to their video games getting targeted now.

SWAT-Strachan In reply to vonmeer [2013-01-16 23:54:04 +0000 UTC]

Dude, you are preaching to the converted here .

I'm fully aware of just how futile it is to try to argue firearm law with an "anti", their minds are completely closed to the concept of a logically postulated argument, and instead they resort to ranting, or emotional absolutes "Oh, you like guns, you must be OK with children being murdered then!", they just can't... well, I say "can't", what I really mean is "won't", understand that guns are not, and never have been the problem. Evil is as evil does, and no amount of legislation will ever stop that little switch in someone's head being flipped.

I know from bitter experience what it's like to have your liberties curtailed in the name of protectionism. Back in 1996 Thomas Hamilton went berserk in a town called Dunblane, and went of an armed rampage through a local school (sound familiar?). Now his mental instability had been reported to the police on numerous occasions, but when it came to renewing his firearms licence, they granted it, and this was the result. A year later our government of the time turned around and in a knee-jerk reaction banned all handguns (any firearm with a barrel shorter than 30cm), every legally owned handgun was seized and destroyed in the name of public safety... Immediately after that piece of legislation was brought in to force, handgun crime in the UK rocketed, because oddly enough, the bad guys don't usually worry about what the law says, so they kept their guns.

We'll never see handgun ownership reinstated in the UK, any governmental party that tried to do that would be committing political suicide, and holding on to power is what really matters to them, not doing the right thing.

Do everything you can to prevent it happening in the US, because once they make you register your guns, you can be damned sure they'll be coming for them in the future.

I hear you, I've heard a lot about how home invasion is the new thing in the UK..just like it is in the US where gun ownership is limited.

I've never been a victim of a crime, one time a guy broke into my stores lobby but once he saw my 44. he gave me some BS and fled.

In Montana you can kill any trespasser if you feel threatened, as we have no obligation to retreat. Never had a break in again.

Governments are finding themselves less relevant in our modern world. The anti-gun agenda being a veiled attempt to marginalize the citizens rights to self defense. Making ones only resolve to become victimized then call in the AUTHORITIES,aka the police.

If people can't defend themselves, crime increases and the government becomes relevant again as it addresses said crimes.

Governmental parasites need their jobs, and more excuses to waste taxes paying for their "work". We seen it happen in the UK and many think it can happen in the US.

It would not, it would lead to a civil war beyond being political suicide. No one in the US wants that, or would let Obama do that. Gun registration won't work here, but they have a better weapon.

Taxes, he can impose greater taxes on ammo and this alone can destroy our gun culture in a single generation. I'm hoping he's not clever enough to do it but Biden already added it to the agenda.

It's likely we will get another Assault weapon ban in two years if the republicans are defeated in two years. It's scary, and I have to vote for republicans (I'm a Libertarian) as the democrats vote against my interests.

I use to argue with hysterical (mostly liberal) anti-gunners but it just makes my heart race and irritates me. I just throw up my hands and stop bothering.

I own a lot of gun's, earn about 200K now and can survive whatever ammo tax they put one me. I have a few thousand rounds already stored up and now I'm buying more before prices rise again.

I own perhaps 30-40 high capacity magazines so even if a assault weapon ban passes, it won't effect me.

I'll grumble and be pissed, but it won't limit me or my shooting, it will only limit those 99%ers who can't afford it.

Right now Hillary Clinton is panicking as any gun control will kill her chance to ever be president.

Yup, I read the article. The thing is we don't need to argue them, It's a right, It's a civil right. We don't need to debate 2nd amendment any more than the first amendment.

Imagine if we treated the freedom of speech like the second amendment... If we proposed a disco ban after Biddu and Carl Douglas wrote "Kung Fu Fighting" in 1974. Hmmmm...

Hmmm...
