If you look on my wolf plushie pattern, there's instructions for enlarging patterns with the grid method.

It's made from strips of faux fur attached with a ladder stitch. I made my "Metal Scratch" the same way.

I love this pattern. I've used the other free one on DA, I'll have to try this one out. Is this minky? Where do you buy it from, if I might ask? :3 Fantastic job on the mane and tail, it's the hardest part!

I usually order from minkydelight.com - they have a nice sale on short cuts going on at the moment.

Oh, wow, that's not bad. How much would you say you used for this derpy plush? And is there a specific kind that you are particularly in favor of? (They have like, charmeuse satin, is that the best kind (looks like it, but I've never sewn with anything besides fleece D
Sorry for all the questions! I really want to learn to use minky x)

That one was pretty small, I think I used a little less than 1/3 of a yard to make her. It was just smooth minky, dyed grey. Be sure you use fusible interfacing, otherwise minky has a very annoying tendency to curl up and stretch.

Ahhh that's good to know. I've never used interfacing, this is gonna be a huge project D: But at least it won't take a lot of minky. Thanks for all the help!

I don't use it with fur, but I swear by it with minky and fleece. And it's pretty cheap, too!

Unfortunately, it seems like everything on minkydelight is basically sold out D; I would love to get some while it's this cheap, but it's just so expensive everywhere else. And there's no reason to get colors I don't really need or will use. Ah well. I'll just try and perfect fleece until I can get a steady paycheck and afford the hefty price of minky Thank you so much for all the help! I've never used interfacing with fleece, either, I prefer a squishy plush, but maybe in the future

I've been hearing from several people that minky is very difficult to get at the moment. Not sure what the reason for that is, though.
Interfacing doesn't make the plush very stuff, I just find it makes the pattern easier to transfer and keeps it just firm enough the stitches don't pull through when you stuff it. I tend to stuff firmly myself, though.

Wonder what the big idea is? Seems like a lot more people are starting this whole crazy pony-making nonsense, so that might be it. I just can't imagine making hundreds of dollars on plushies *^*
Yeah, typically with smaller plushies or something that I want to hold a pose, I stuff really tight.

I have a question:
I'm going to try and make my own from your tutorial, and what did you use for the eyes and cutie mark? Just wondering.

For this, they were painted on felt. I wouldn't recommend that, it's pretty messy. Embroidery, plain felt or iron-on transfers looks better.

Fun fur is really wispy and terrible. You can get small cuts of good quality long pile fur from this seller on etsy, though: [link]

Seriously, how do you guys find all these fabrics... Germany seems to be the worst place to sew plushies because it's ridiculous what you find here...

I actually get most of my stuff online since all the local places have is cheap "fun fur".
