Because you guys asked for it!

EDIT
Got this Fantastic tip from
"I don't like setting the stabilizer above as it affects all the tools in SAI. so I double click the tool and set a specific stabilizer so that it affects that tool only (I use 5 because I like to do faster strokes with my arm...). I also have pressure stabilizer set for my inking tool (I have mine set to 10).

As for other programs there is a program out there called LazyNezumi people.happycoders.org/kamih/lazynezumi [Please note that at the point of posting the website isn't working, but I confirmed the website with google cache] which can simulate similar stabilizer actions for other programs such as photoshop. I've tried it out before and you have to tweak it till you get it to your liking.

The stabilizer is pretty much like slowing down and "smoothing" your strokes."

for your selection settings, what are they set at? o: mine always has these little bits near the sharp ends of the fur that are unselected and in some artists speedpaints I've noticed they select an area and dont even have the little bits, like it selects it all.Β

That's alright man, it happens to me a lot too xD

But for the part when you've finished your ''not cool looking yet'' lineart, i love those details you added in the next picture. But i'm just not sure how to make the lineart more, y'know interesting, like you did.Β

Do you have any tips for that part? Thanks already :>Β

Thats interesting you say your sketches look like crap. I'm always the opposite, I always like my sketches more than my lineart. I use photoshop and my finished lines always look messy even with a cintiq.Β

Thank you for the nice tutorial!
I see you use SAI, and as I like this programm for making my outlines I used it in the past very often with my windows laptop but since I have a Mac the pen pressure thing doesn't work, have you maybe a hint (if you're using OSX too) for me? I tried every possible setting :/
I am frustrated ._.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Vooron In reply to Morraey [2014-10-12 11:11:25 +0000 UTC]

well instead of normal layer, there is this "lineart layer" option there and there you could make lines look like there is pressure.

I am not 100% sure tho but it could help. There is this tool for pressure. It sucks big time that Mac users don't have pen pressure in Sai

Morraey In reply to Vooron [2014-10-12 11:20:30 +0000 UTC]

Hey, thanks for your reply!

Well I found this option with the 'lineart layer' thing but it still doesn't work ._.

I thought about running a second operating system of windows on my mac but, obviously, that's not the best solution :/
But thank you anyway!

It's really annoying that Sai isn't really compatible with Mac...

Nutrire In reply to Morraey [2015-07-04 22:18:27 +0000 UTC]

With the lineart layer, you use the curve tool and click around to draw some curves. Β Use the pressure tool, click a point and drag left or right to change the thickness of the curve, thus simulating pen "pressure".
Good luck drawing!
(P.S., pen pressure will never ever work with PTS on mac. Β it's a Β sai thing. Β I recommend you get a windows laptop.)

I'm fairly new to SAi and am still learning how to work the program. I was wondering how you get your brush to thin out at the start of a stroke and at the end. Mine just stays the way it is. A big black line with no change in shape.Β

GinSasori In reply to Vooron [2014-08-05 21:26:54 +0000 UTC]

When I was testing out the brush, I was just using my mouse. But I do use a tablet when I draw.

Vooron In reply to GinSasori [2014-08-06 09:52:04 +0000 UTC]

well with your tablet there should be something called pen pressure.

if I were to draw with mouse, I would have same problem as you.
