Because you guys asked for it!

EDIT
Got this Fantastic tip from
"I don't like setting the stabilizer above as it affects all the tools in SAI. so I double click the tool and set a specific stabilizer so that it affects that tool only (I use 5 because I like to do faster strokes with my arm...). I also have pressure stabilizer set for my inking tool (I have mine set to 10).

As for other programs there is a program out there called LazyNezumi people.happycoders.org/kamih/lazynezumi [Please note that at the point of posting the website isn't working, but I confirmed the website with google cache] which can simulate similar stabilizer actions for other programs such as photoshop. I've tried it out before and you have to tweak it till you get it to your liking.

The stabilizer is pretty much like slowing down and "smoothing" your strokes."

A lot of your lines don't connect (which isn't bad at all!) so how do you manage to color without it going out of the line and making a huge ugly mess? Β I ask this to a lot of SAI users and nobody can give me answer other than 'bucket tool' which still makes color bleed out or leaves ugly white spots on each strand of fur.

I have a way to make it look like a stabilizer if you want to use my idea go on. Its fine.

Go on to line and trace your sketch. Curve would be a great tool. Then go to pressure. Click and drag left or right and it looks like you have used a stabilizer.

I dont understand why it is so important to use layers!!!>_<~

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Vooron In reply to ZarekLittlePrince [2012-11-12 07:17:01 +0000 UTC]

If You can manage without then go ahead and don't use layers it just makes your work so much easier. Your lineart will be smoother and coloring cleaner and it all happens fastre than if you don't use layers.

This is really cool! Thank you for sharing! I have been wondering how to make my freaking line art clean instead of oh so pixelly.

Also, Fire Alpaca is another newer art program that is open source. It is almost like SAI in feel. It also has 'correction' which I guess is like the stabilizer. So, for those who don't have SAI or not enough money at the moment to get SAI, then they can use this .

thanks for the tutorial, it really helped me , i got a small sketch in my scrapbook but you know, no matter what i do i still can't get the line art good, but i read you wrote about the "details" , could you explain alittle bit how you decide to make which parts with thicker line? is there a rule or something? i would really love to see what you can do with my 1st sketch ever but i'd understand if you dont have the time

thanks.

Vooron In reply to iSeriouslySuckAtArt [2012-09-25 04:42:31 +0000 UTC]

Rule? where?

There are no rules. YOU yourself make it look good with your own way. every lineart looks different and that is a good thing.
Hmm... what sketch?
