Description
And finally the complimentary color piece for the last one posted, what our Blue Bioroids were shooting at and getting shot by, the classic Southern Cross hovertanks.I wanted the colors and BGs to have that same feel and vibe that the original 80s show had. The scenes I did are not actually in the show, of course, but meant to look like they might have been... albeit with slightly more pimped digital colors
Cheers!

Again, this looks like a perfect capture of a moment in the show. The detail is beautiful and the look is awesome. I can only hope that if we were to see any new official animation for Robotech, that it be at least as beautiful as this.

Cool beans. I still find it odd that the tank had an open cockpit but whatever at least she disappears into it in Battloid mode

Really nice. I always like seeing this part of Robotech get some love. It really could be an interesting part of the story if further integrated.

Excellent! I'd say it looked like you ripped a cel from the animation, except the old animation was never that detailed!

I know nothing about this show, but I like the sense of motion and action you convey in the pic.

Were the hovertank mecha really that small? They seem maybe half the size of a VF-series fighter.
(Of course, there's no reason for them to bear any similarity, since Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross is a totally different story from Macross, NOT set on Earth, and not in the year 2030).
It took many years before I discovered the difference between Macross and Robotech, and now I'm pretty strongly opposed to Robotech.

Oh, and I should note, I don't hate Robotech as I understand why they had to air it in the way they did but I'm also more a fan of the original shows.

In the show the models were not always on target so my illo might be a bit off too. I kinda wanted to keep that feel the old animation cells had so I didn't go out of my way to make everything perfect.

Awesome perspective and getting the action feeling right. Your use of a minimal color palette is quite something...

My thanks The colors are pretty much the same vibe the show had so that was much informed by the original. The action was all my dealio though
