Description I only did two color pieces for the Macross book, more or less for fun and also as I expect Palladium will do a deluxe large edition where they usually do print color work if they have it. So this getting posted here first I think.

This was done pretty quickly using one of the basic Kawamori model sheets as a ref but still drawn by me by hand. I thought it would be kinda ace to see a Valkyrie breaking the sound barrier so that's what I did. Also seemed amusing to make it one of those inspiration "join the so-and-so" type posters Though it's a Veritech here they'll always be Valkyries to me.

Join the UN SPACY, be a variable fighter jock, get all the girls. Just make sure your tan/brown VF-1A gets repainted first. Excellent illustration, makes this old mechahead smile.

I love the Valkyrie one of the coolest starfighters ever based on one of the coolest real fighter jets ever made.

The VF-1 Valkyrie is Number one closely followed by the GA-TL1 Longsword.

Thanks man! Yeah I just kinda had to do this one, seemed like it would be cool to see one cracking the sound barrier.

I always wondered if the term "U.N. Spacy" was a particularly bad case of Engrish.

well, ARMED (forces) = armyΒ  NAVAL (forces) = navy, so SAPCE (forces) = spacy, makes sense to me

Somehow that wouldn't surprise me XD Engrish be an institution in their side of the pond, often yielding hilarious results.

I love all of your Robotech stuff... I remember getting up at 6 am every Saturday morning when I was--musta been 14--a kid and watching it. Absolutely loved it. Then, in the '90s I played Rifts (another Palladium property) and through that discovered the Palladium Robotech stuff. So this is a double win for me

Needless to say, I'm relentlessly ing these!

Looks great.

I grew up watching Hobotech, seeing bums survive on a high tech planet ruled by robots was inspiring. The third season they introduced the Big Rock Candy Gateway, so our bum heroes could return home but I missed that year's episodes because we finally got a real tv.

*Very* nice! While I never was able to get through the whole of the Robotech series (the constant narration of events we could plainly see grated on me), Robotech/Macross still hold a special place in my heart, if only for the cool mecha. Fav'ed.

My thanks, glad you dig it Aye Robotech was full of flaws due to how they had to retell things in order to get the show on US TV (See my reply to post above). Still the show was quite revolutionary for western animation tastes when it aired in 85 and it was a breath of fresh air.

Love the Pic but i gotta Correct a slight misconception. Veritech are Robotech Valkeries are Macross. i been Playing Robotech: Battlecry and saw this and started drooling Robotecha dn Macross are pretty much my Fave Style of Mecha. Even though Macross is a Offstory of Robotech they still have Major differences >.>; Anyways love the Art for them im such a huge fan of the series your getting Faved

I grew up during the golden age of 80s anime so I know all about the differences between Robotech and Macross. Super Dimension Fortress Macross was the original show that aired in Japan, circa 1982. Robotech aired in the united States in 1985 so Robotech was the off story, so to speak, not Macross. The only way they could air Macross on US TV, back then, was to expand it to over 60 episodes. In order to do that they added two more shows, Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross and Genesis Climber Mospeada which came to 85 episodes including Macross. A new story was created to tie them all together and the new show became Robotech. For better or worse this was the only way they could aid the shows and it did indeed turn a lot of young kids on to anime back in the 80s. Different times back then

Anyway my thanks, glad you like it

The Prandtl–Glauert singularity looks alittle off to me though, seems to be sitting atop the Valkyrie instead of encircling it.

Thanks a ton for pointing it out man. Not a huge deal but still. I'll send the right one up in a few.
