Many of you good folks who surf Deviant looking for fab mecha designs have likely, at some point, ran into works by this impressively talented guy Those of you who haven’t go to his gallery now, trust me you won’t be disappointed. This machine is one of genocidalpenguin’s designs I offered to CG color. It’s his illustration and the cool white lion on the left shoulder is his design as well I only did the colors here
It’s a design for a short comic he’s working on and I can only imagine it’ll be quite a cool ride once it’s done. He commented the look of the background has an 80s mecha model kit kind of vibe, I found that an appropriate observation because coloring this design felt like building a badass custom mecha kit and painting it all up with a cool paint scheme, it was just fun. I think the design is very cool and has a nice visual appeal to it, imaginative and stylish. I will surely do more colors for select GP’s mechs in the future, no doubt. It’s quite often nice to do colors, every now and then, for other talented artists work rather than doing your own works.Edit: Lion crest sans green bg

Just as with the DZ, it's a very pretty design with very small feet. It reminds me a little of a bird of some sort, or maybe an insect.
I think, by the way, that the angular camouflage on the DZ fits a mechanical thing such as this much better than the organic patterning on this design, though both are pleasing to the eye.

The design & colouring are very reminiscent of Makoto Kobayashi's work, which is a win in my book.

My thanks but I can't and won't take full credit for this design, the honors go to as he's created this beast, I only colored it. That said GP and I both have a little Kobayashi influence in our works along with a wide range of other things. Thanks for droping in and by all means give GP's gallery a visit as well

I think, after talking to one of my compatriots in the Mod team, I'm going to do a 'battle tank' mech next. Ie, a mech with less human features recognisable, and more of a machine than anything else. I'll talk to you later this week on AIM if you are not busy.

I'm digging the camo paintjob, it really feels much more organic than usual. It looks like something an alien race would build, though I do watch ~genocidalpenguin I'm not familiar with his desifn origins, yet. So it kinda struck me odd that the "aliens" would use a lion for an emblem when you highlighted it

it’s made and used by humans, but in a different timeline than our own.

It does have a different feel to it in terms of cammo paints. I basically merged 2 differing WWII styles of German Panzer tank cammo and it resulted in a kinda unusual look overall. I believe the mech is an Earthbound machine made by a futuristic Middle eastern warring faction. :deviantgenocidalpenguin: can explain of course being it's his design. Thanks for the comments

I like the symbols you added.
just one thing. the lion is supposed to be just the white, the background was just to make it more visible.
