Description Howdy everyone,

Here’s the next CG color collab between myself and for his wild Dasgaw close quarters combat machine. This one GP had a color and cammo scheme in mind similar to an SF3D model he had a color paint photo ref of. I loved the somewhat German Panzer gray colors and the sand legs cammo so I basically did a variation of it here. It’s different but the basic idea is intact. All of GP’s designs come out spectacular with some hard old school WWII style cammo and color work and with a good amount of weathering it really makes em look like the aggressive machines his imagination seems to endlessly conjure though they still succeed more than adequately in the simple contour line form as well. As always for me personally it’s a nice change of pace to color someone else’s work, especially as good as this stuff Expect more still in the future and also pending colors of some of ’s work and possibly some others.

Linework and design by and also the markings on the left shoulder armor and the smaller version on the head cowling were rendered by him as well CG colors by me, Photoshop 7.0 and some Painter 9.

I love the leg/feet design!

The arms.. feel brittle. I picture a judo-move in which it gets cracked backwards.

Thank you for the comments but the actually design and line art is by , I just did the colors. That said the design is intended to have some flaws in it's conception. Penguin's notion for these mecha are they're essentially early prototypes, the first to be developed so not bug-free

Wow this is so cool, I have been looking through your gallery and I have to say I am really digging you designs of mechs. Wait-to-go it reminds me of a combination of Metal Gear and Apply Seed.

Very wild design! I like the the way you colored it a lot too. The texture/wear in the camo paint really adds a great feel. It really looks like it has scene combat, or at the very least it has been exposed to the elements.

Thanks! Indeed that's the feel I was going for and overall I think it comes across. I love doing this kind of work with my designs but I also love doing colors of other artists works as well. 's mecha designs are a blast to color and work with really

Ahh, well good deal then, glad you've been peeping his work. Thanks for the consideration, not sure when I could get to one really as I'm beyond tied up at the moment. Very busy with freelance of late and I have several collab colors in the cue. Once I have more time, who knows?

Woah, once again, you pull an amazing piece of art out of your hat. Cheers to both you and Genocidal for making such a flawless collab.

I found a way to use my tablet...install the drivers on the school servers, and draw there. So, potentially, I'll have some new arts up soon. I think I'm going to have to do some more 'fan art' of your universe again, I'm completly out of practice of drawing mechanoids.

I regret that I can not comment on all of your latest submissions (theos tanks rock, by the way), but I have places to be that are not in front of a computer.

Till a later point in time...

Thanks a lot man, I appreciate it greatly

Cool beans you can find some time and means to still produce some new Wacom works, soon enough you'll be back here on Deviant full time though Don't sweat not being able to comment on all the new stuff yet. I had a feeling you'd dig the finished tanks

On doing fan art, you're more than welcome to but to be honest once you're back, if you're up for it, you're welcome to do some concept works officially as penguin is. I feel you're MORE than qualified to and have quite the imagination yourself. We won't get into it it in detail until you're back online more regularly but I'll try to fire an e-mail your way soon. The only reason I haven't is I've been hella busy -_- Also I have the FOIL collab you and I did soon to be posted. I was holding off until you were more available online but I can do the finishes and post it sooner if you'd like, just let me know. Until next time, take care of yourself man and keep belting out that fantastic stuff

really really nice coloring I'll say it again and yea the weathering's great!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

VulnePro In reply to MeganeRid [2006-02-06 15:41:40 +0000 UTC]

Thanks man The weathering stuff is always a fun thing to do because it's about randomness but knowing how to place it so it looks convincingly random. It’s actually fairly well thought out as how weathering occurs on machines does have a somewhat predictable nature, to a degree.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

CGVickers [2006-02-06 14:29:27 +0000 UTC]

Another brilliant piece. It's your weathering skills that add so much character to these designs. I feel bad for even suggesting it but I would love to see you colour one of my mecha if you were ever interested : )

Yes, fire it over when you're ready. This badass fella, right [link] ? I'd love to give it a go, once I have time I'll again send you a note on my private business e-mail addy. I don't post it cause the spambots suckass and so far have not found out about it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CGVickers In reply to VulnePro [2006-02-06 16:19:00 +0000 UTC]

Awesome, thank you! I know exactly about the spambots. I gotta be careful when I get my new business Email. My current one gets aprox 20 ads for male enhancements a day. I block addresses but they seem to have an edless suply of senders : / My lineart for that pic is almost done though I keep finding other projects that get in the way. Not to pressure you or anything but if you're interested in working on any of the mecha I've already done, I still have the lineart. I am excited at the prospect of seeing one of my works coloured with your talent : )
