Description today on the sea shore. It's a very short exposure.. just to know when to push the button! with the digital camera delay and all that..

Freezing my ass off, but I think it was worth it!

E D I T : The place: Europe (east side) - ROMANIA - Constanta (a city by the Black Sea shore) [ ~Constanta for some more ] A concrete pier made of the same structural modules as in the "January 2005" photograph. Camera: Canon G6 ISO 50, shutter speed 1/2000 and the apreture I think it was around 4 (quite sunny and so I got the intense blue). For more like this go see [link] (from last year with ma "crapcam" but at this 900/700 size it's not obvious ) Thank you ~ ecstremista and ^Moonbeam13 and thanks to all you folks reading this!

Thank you ! It means "move your lazy bum down to the piers and snap a few, damn it!!! "

Indeed, you snapped it perfectly! It's tougher with digital cameras as you mentioned...awhile back I was trying to get shots of model rockets launching, and it was painful

vulpul In reply to freezejeans [2005-02-09 16:28:34 +0000 UTC]

rockets launching and pain ! what a nasty "jointventure"... makes me think of "happy tree friends" scenes..

There are actualy some cameras that go from power off to the snapshot in 0.7 seconds. Contax with lenses by Kyocera.. search some info on the net. But for now my G6 does a good job at -10Β°C although Canon people say it doesn't work below 0Β°C Cool ! (really cool... even cold! )

0.7 seconds That would be awesome I did manage to get some rocket launch photos, but it was VERY tricky to do...got lucky I guess

That has to be the most unusual beach shots ive seen. Is that a lump of ice washing up?looks almost like limbs sticking out of it... really nice texture on whatever it is!its a fav

Hell yeah thats an amazing shot. I never saw the sea freeze myself, but I saw some pics of a few decades ago (apparently winters were more harsh around here back then) and it just looks neat.
Great picture

vulpul In reply to Deratrius [2005-02-09 16:12:51 +0000 UTC]

No. it didn't freeze. (the sea I mean) ... hence the waves splashing on the concrete wave-stop. But the constant spray of water eventually did freeze... layer after layer... until it covered the whole structure...

it's like those psychology cards with spots and shapes where you're supposed to say what you see ... but in three dimensions and if you don't guess... *splash* you get "the treatment"

"Oh no! Not the treatment!!!"

well... I'm pro in design and fire-arts (ceramics, glass, metal, jewelry) but I take photos for about 10 years now... I guess I like it and that's all... Of course I know a lot about it... but others know way more.

I do prints n' stuff, yes. If I like to. I don't do it for money...
