HEY SO for those who don't read my journals, have a short summary:- Pen pressure did not work on my previous tablet and never had, despite me following a TON of advice suggested by DA users and online tutorials for three days straight back in April 2016
- I gave up on pen pressure and thought it was just my tablet getting old
- Fastforward to October, where my self-confidence about my art takes a dive and I really crave a working tablet so I can expand to different programs (I can't make linearts I like in GIMP and SAI without pen pressure or stabilizer, so that would be a good way to experiment more)
- I saved up for a new tablet
- I bought it, Wacom Intuos Art
- It arrived
- It had the exact same specific issues my other tablet did, SO it seems the issue is laptop-related and not tablet-related. I have no idea what it is and have yet to find out how to solve it.
So Muro, it seems I just can't get rid of you for now.BUT YEA I bought this brand new tablet, so I might as well get into using it, in case I manage to fix the pressure problem?
It is very fast and very sensitive, it reacts to the slightest change in my hand movement or drawing speed, I have to play with the settings a bit still to figure out the sweet spot, but I managed to finish a small thing with it, at least!
Art might be slightly wonky for a while as I get used to it. Don't worry, though - a pre-new-tablet image will be submitted tomorrow, I made it yesterday before installing the new tablet

Hmm, well if you get it to scan something for you:
There's a Sai cheat where you can take an inked sketch from paper and pop it into Sai via scan, and you can raise the contras/brighness until only black lines are showing. Then you can go to the layer tab, hit luminescence to transparency, and it just leaves your lines which you can color under.
IDK if that helps or not but It could be worth a tryΒ Β It's usually what I do since I don't have a tablet.Β

I had that same problem with my off-brand tablet :/
You could try to do that and import the lines to muro but that seems like it defeats the purpose.

While having pen pressure allows you to expand the creativity boundaries and/or taken work flow, sometimes you need to consider that you are the one in control and doing the work, so... grab a paper, pen and pencil if the computer is having a mind of its own ... that always works

I'm not sure if SAI or GIMP has pen pressure for the program, but if it does then it might be under one of the settings. I know CSP has pen pressure because that's what I use, and it was under one of the settings, so you could try downloading a free trial of that to see if it's your computer or the program.Β

They both have pen pressure, and I activated all the right settings! The problem is that I can tell exactly when I SHOULD have pen pressure - because at that point, it no longer allows me to draw anything until I turn pen pressure off.
So it's there, it's just not working the way it should.

I think both have pen pressure. GIMP has pen pressure support for sure, however it might require one to go to the input settings to define what each of the sensor channels do (you can have pressure, tilt, rotation, etc)

I'm really sorry getting a new tablet didn't fix your pen pressure issues, bUT THE GOOD NEWS IS THIS LOOKS AWESOME

my laptop updated, and it's not affected my drivers at all luckily.. but windows ink workspace was a new thing?
i've heard silverlight/windows ink workspace can interfere with the tablet drivers? ;; maybe take a look at it,Β
BUT IS IT A TOSHIBA? if it is, i used to have this issue and i'll need to remember how i fixed it lmao
