I was reminded of Krusty's relationship with Mel ever since I heard the lyrics, ''No I do not love the groom, in my heart there is no room... But I still want him to be all mine!"

Hopefully they will all be able to free Mel. Krusty would be a tough adversary to defeat, especially since he's been assigned the hero/anti-hero role...

Yeah . . . I can see that though. He just wants Mel for ratings on his show, despite not caring for him too deeply. I just want a happy ending for Mel man, like spending a summer on an island and coming back to quit.

Yeah, like in your fanfiction. It would be nice if Mel got his happy ending, getting a better job for one, and also spending more time with someone who really loves him. (Not necessarily my OC... I'm also OK with a Mel/Barbara endgame if the writers are planning on explaining/redeeming her.)

Exactly like in my story. I just want Me to be freaking happy for once. Same with Bob and his family. I really want a happy ending for all, but we will have to see.

Agreed. Since Bob's a popular character, I can see things ending well in that boat. I'll admit, I had my doubts about a happy ending for Mel... especially after what happened to Skinner and Edna's relationship. But since Gil (another well known underdog) got married in a recent ep (Pork and Burns), I'm beginning to reconsider. Maybe the writers do have a happy ending planned for Mel after all. Some of the minor characters are being used better recently.
