I'm giving up.
I've done it all
But my best wasn't good enough.
I feel like cryin'
So sick of tryin'
And something inside is just dyin'
So I surrender to you

I can't carry myself any higher
I need you to rekindle this fire
You're my greatest protector, defender

Well, I've had it.
I'm shutting the door.
I've fought the good fight
Then fought it some more.
The world is so dark and dreary
And I am so incredibly weary
That I'm sure I no longer see clearly
So, I surrender to you
I did try my best
I surrender to you
Though I failed my own test
I can't pick myself up off the floor
I don't even know what to ask for
And I wish my heart wasn't so tender
But to you, oh to you...I surrender.
Okay, that does it!
It seems I can't win!
I've had enough
Of always beginning again
I'm tired of being weak and wary
And being in a place so scary
It's a burden I no longer can carry
So, I surrender to you
I gave it my all
I surrender to you
Cause you won't let me fall
I'm already on my hands and knees
I've been tossed in these stormy seas
But I'm ready, I'm here to say Please....

Working through here, it looks like three out of the three poems I've read have been sort of sad. Well written, but sad.

You're right of course, many writers use their righting as an outlet for emotions and thoughts that they otherwise do not fully express. Pretty true of all kinds of artists really.
I was just observing the darker quality of the works I'd seen so far. Sometimes that kind of thing is an indication of a dark patch in someone's life in general... which is something that catches my attention. <__<

Very well written...with a very important message. Sometimes we just make things harder when we want want to keep the false control we have on our lives, instead of surrendering to God. If we surrender, he will take care of us. I know there is some songs about how we have to surrender our lives to live them...forgot the title >.<.
