Description
First off I should explain that this strip was actually penciled and inked last year I just haven't gotten to coloring it till now. This strip is based on how I always wondered why Big Bird wore a tie for his appearances on Sesame Street Live and at Sesame Place. It wasn't until last year that I learned the reason why is because usually on the regular Sesame Street show Big Bird's performer Caroll Spinney(and occasionally Matt Vogel) can't see through the suit, so he has a little monitor in the suit, so he can see his performance while he's filming. Obliviously they can't have a monitor in the suit when doing live performances or theme park appearances so they have Big Bird where a tie that the person inside can see through.
I would like to apologize for the poorly drawn Grovers in this strip, for some reason he's hard for me to draw (in earlier rough versions of this strip he looked like a weird version of Elmo).
One of the hardest parts of this strip was fitting Big Bird in because he's so BIG (According to Caroll Spinney, the suit is 8' 2"), so I had to make him a bit shorter in order to fit in the panels.
And this isn't the end folks expect more Sesame Street comics throughout the month of November.
Oh and one more bit of trivia before I wrap this up; The Sesame Street Live Big Bird Costume costs $30,000 to make! Talk about your special breed of bird.

I've been wondering why the live version of Big Bird always wears a tie, and now I know. Thanks.

Grover is the same color as Big Bird's tie. If you want my opinion you might want to make the tie darker or lighter a little bit.

The last line is the major draw-card of this strip! Also, very clever idea basing the comic on that knowledge. I myself never knew that. Thanks!

Interesting factoids there. I've never seen Sesame Street that much, but I like how the characters turned out here. Nice little gag, too.
