I'm recovering from a pretty bad case of the flu, but I still managed to get this one done. Who doesn't love Gurren Lagann? Whether it's Tails making a giant drill, the Egg Genie looking like a gunman with its huge face, or how Yoko's flame motif happens to match Blaze pretty well, I really enjoyed doing this one.Related content

I saw this picture several years ago, and at the time it didn't make sense, but today one of my friends showed me Gurren Lagann and when I heard someone talking about the drill piercing the heavens, I remembered this, and so I instantly went back to DeviantART to check this out, and now I get it! and seeing Blaze as Yoko is pretty funny.

Heh i gotta say this looks pretty great! and i gotta say the drill idea kinda came to me as millions of drill wisps with sonic to make the ULTIMATE GIGA DRILL BREAKER anyways this is pretty awesome quality and its really good i guess and kinda funny

I like the Gurren/Sonic fanart! It's damn epic. Sonic and Tails totally fit the roles of Kamina and Simon.... Though I'm sure Sally or Amy would have been the better Yoko..... and then I guess that would make Cream Nina?

Sally and Amy weren't in Sonic Rush Adventure, besides, all of Yoko's clothes are flame print, I think the fire motif matches Blaze best.

Yes, but then the drill joke here wouldn't work, as this vehicle was never in Sonic Rush, and thus the whole thing would kinda fall flat.

Marine is a hanger on, a little kid who likes to play pretend, or has deluded herself into thinking she's a captain, and the others were willing to go along with it for most of the game because it wasn't hurting anybody. Besides, there is a HUGE cast in Gurren Lagann, but most action shots are just of Yoko, Kamina, and Simon.
Also, did you check out Sonic Universe #1? I thought it was awesome. If Blaze was the first person to tell Marine off, Shadow was the first to SHUT HER UP, and I never respected his character more.
Oh yeah, and I'm pretty sure Tails or Sonic were the ones driving the ships, Marine was just barking orders from the deck.
