[WARNING] This tutorial is mainly for people with basic knowledge about programming in general. If you don't know what you are doing, ask me, or don't do it.This only solves ONE problem, which is "X3014: Incorrect number for numeric-type constuctor". It may or may not work for others.
Sometimes when you try to open an FX file in MMD, it fails to load it. This is how you can fix one of the common problems.

That's because the stock Notepad is a pile of crap and interprets East-Asian UTF-16 character encoding as Latin UTF-8, resulting in that kind of babble. Get Notepad++ or use the document translation on Google Translate.

I can't work with that. I need an exact report of the error message you get, not just "some random code". Copy it, or take a screenshot. And give me a download link to the effect, I can't identify it by just "line effect".

I'm tryng to use this effects: bowlroll.net/up/dl16494
but the original texture its in japanese... I have extracted it using applocale and all, but when I open it on MMD, the textures fail...
I tried use applocale with MMD and it works, but I cant move it in accesory manipulation, if i do it, it dissappear...
do you know how to fix this texture?

That's exactly what it says, nothing obscure, nothing abstract. Your video card is incompatible with that effect or technique.

What part did you not understand? Some techniques can't run on your hardware. There's nothing to do but accept the fact that you can't use that effect.

It probably means your graphics card doesn't support the effect or at least a part of it. Try upgrading/downgrading your MME version. Other than that I can't really think of anything.

No, it's only hardware, data on the hard drives will be intact. You might need to install the driver, but that's all.

hey, quick question,if I canΒ΄t use the newer MME version (for some reason it refuses) does it mean then I have no chance at all to use more sophisticated effects? because quite a few of them just make the model or object disappear

There are some effects that require V0.28 to work, but most should work with older versions. If you can't install a newer MME, I suggest what I always do: update directx, .NET and your graphics card driver. Also, there are some effects that night not work on ATI cards.

Nice programming lesson haha. I'm learning Java at school, it's very similar to C/C++. In fact, most programming languages use the C style, with some modifications. By the way, I'm interesed in learning HLSL... Do you know where to find some tutorials?

No, I don't think so, but there's a program called Render Monkey that is used for writing shaders in HLSL.

I know. Most languages have a lot in common, like statements (if), loops (for), some functions and such. I started learning Pascal in school this year, and I'm surprised how much it looks like C++

It makes things a lot easier. You don't have to learn a new "grammar" for each language, only the words. There are some slight differences, though.
