Description i won't update this theme, i don't have any more use for it, cuz i don't use firefox anymore

if you want to have an "update" wait for AP-Graphics theme
(SoftFox mockup ) or for spewboy to include a soft7 option in stratiform (Stratiform 1.1 )

preview of the firefox theme i'm working on at the moment (for fiefox 3.6)
(i started creating this theme in order to match with my favourite windows 7 vs: Soft7 2.0 BETA 1 by AP-GRAPHIK )

things which should be followed when using the alpha:

use application button style7
use default tabs or tabs on top (white)

for haveing no titlebar, use the addon titlebar tweaks 1.8.3.6 and create a emplty icon in the folder Mozilla Firefox\chrome\icons\default and name it main-window.ico

what needs to be done:

buttons will be redone, they shouldn't have the same background as the adress bar
most likely i will redo the tabs

known bugs:

in tabs on top the firefox button is 1 px to low
in tabs on top with non transparent background there is a (not very good looking) line in the the navigation bar
small navigation buttons aren't done yet.

coding of the theme (and parts of the theme, i didn't edit): SpewBoy + Redux Team

Looks great. Would like to use it, but is not compatible with FF 4 b7

i made it based on a friefox 3.6 skin, so of course it isn't campatible with ff4, i will eventually update it, when ff4 is in final or so, but i'm not sure if i will do so

FrancisForward In reply to warulez [2010-11-26 12:53:41 +0000 UTC]

It would be great if you could encourage yourself to do a skin for ff4. The 4b7-release is said to be a final in perspektive of the design. So, perhaps, you could ...

Hey, do you wish some little help to refine the graphics in it ? I'm approaching the end of Soft7 so most of the things that could be useful for you in this skin are already done, we could also share some psd or png directly (I don't know if a Firefox skin needs png with alpha channel like Windows 7...).

And just now I think of working on a mockup to see how I could do some things, to both match Soft7 and to be great with Firefox ^^
I know that Firefox 3.6 approach the end of its life (well, not so close ^^), but it could be a good start and in the future we could port it to FF 4

What do you think ? You're the maker of this theme above all, I did Soft7 and I'll eventually do some graphics but I can't do the code (absolutely not ^^).

Anyway I'll work on some mockups from today to see how things could go, I'll keep you in touch

warulez In reply to AlexandrePh [2010-11-17 18:51:46 +0000 UTC]

the png in firefox doesn't need alpha channels, if you want to give me the psd files it would be better, since the adressbar in firefox (especially this theme) needs to be done in a different way
about the coding in firefox, i'm not that good with it (i took the skin spewboy and Redux Team made and edited the graphics in it), while editing it i learned a bit about coding in firefox, but it isn't enough to create a complete theme on my own. so for firefox 4 i'll need to wait for a matching ff 4 skin and reskin it

Hi mate, very good mod of the Strata40 !

any future version in approche?

about the theme, it doesn't save the color I choose when I restart the browser, any Idea?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

warulez In reply to YassGo [2010-05-31 11:40:24 +0000 UTC]

future versions are planned, but i'm not done

you mean that it doesn't save the background color? for me this works without any problems

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

YassGo In reply to warulez [2010-06-02 08:12:39 +0000 UTC]

Okay mate !

About the color, it's everytime I restart my browser ! The color is the default one and when I look at the Theme Options in the StrataBuddy the silver one is chosen. I must switch to Royale for example to change the Color again.

how do you change the go back/forward arrows?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

warulez In reply to FateZoom [2010-05-26 11:56:24 +0000 UTC]

you should have realized how to install the theme (drag both xpi files in firefox and click install)
to combine the url bar and reload go stop button you need to click the firefox button and then theme options there are the options you need.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FateZoom In reply to warulez [2010-05-26 20:54:36 +0000 UTC]

yes i know that, i just cant figure out how to change the arrows, i drag theme in to addons, only strata theme, no arrows, what wrong?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

warulez In reply to FateZoom [2010-05-27 10:57:15 +0000 UTC]

the back and forward arrows should be there after you installed the modified version of strat40 (even without stratabuddy)
i don't see any reason the arrows shouldn't be there
maybe it would help if you post a screenshot

which version of firefox are you useing? are you using other addon which modify the appearance of firefox? do you see the arrows when you use the original strat40 theme?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

warulez In reply to vi64RUS [2010-05-25 11:34:58 +0000 UTC]

if the folder doesn't exsist you have to create the folder icons and inside you have to create the folder default and there you create the empty icon

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

warulez In reply to vi64RUS [2010-05-25 16:36:28 +0000 UTC]

you have to create the folder firefox/chrome/icons/default and there you have to create the icon

warulez In reply to micun1983 [2010-05-18 19:53:28 +0000 UTC]

it's not so hard to do this yourself, just rename the xpi file to zip and in the folder chrome/browser you need to edit the image nav-buttons.png, the first pair of button inside the file is normal button, second not available, 3. hover, 4. pressed

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

really nice! the firefox button needs to be higher and the edges around the nav bar on the second image needs to be more rounded like in strata 4.0

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

warulez In reply to v-Xemnes [2010-05-18 08:01:44 +0000 UTC]

the edges around the navbar will stay square, the round edges didn't look good, when i removed the all tabs button.

about the firefox button, you are right in tabs on top the button i 1 pixel to low. i will look into a solution to fix this

Excellent work!

On XP, will the theme match the current visual style (like with Strata40) or will it just be white?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

warulez In reply to FallingDark [2010-05-18 07:54:05 +0000 UTC]

i never thougt about xp, because i created the theme in order to match my windows 7 visual style (i will add a link in the desciption). the default tab option should look acceptable on xp, but when using my tabs on top version it looks a bit strange

concerning the background, it should behave just like strata40, because my theme is based on strata40 and stratabuddy

No, I meant integrated transparency with Vista/7. Opera came first. n.n

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Raicuparta In reply to rsilverblood [2010-05-28 22:25:55 +0000 UTC]

Actually, no. Internet Explorer was first, with a rather weak integration, but then there was Glasser for Firefox, i think that was the name of the first one, the addon that made the Firefox default theme glassy. Opera only had that in version 10, which is rather recent.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

rsilverblood [2010-05-17 16:56:18 +0000 UTC]

Very awesome!!!

But, you do know of course that the Opera browser had mastered this way before Firefox could even dream of doing so, right?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

warulez In reply to rsilverblood [2010-05-17 17:10:37 +0000 UTC]

thanks

if you are talking about tabs on top, google chrome was the first browser with tabs on top
but i don't really care about tabs on top, i just wanted to play a bit with it, since strata40/stratabuddy, which i'm using as a base, has tabs on top as a feature
