Description
Three summers ago I did series of these shots over two different outings.... milkweed seed-pods backlit by the setting sun had me fascinated with the way they picked up light and looked like little Chinese lanterns.
This is the fourth and final of these...

What a gorgeous double take! From the thumbnail and the first glance I thought this was the sun rising over a heavily vegetated hillside.

Wow, the lighting in this is very beautiful. The milkweed seed "puff" looks magical.

So amazing! Best thing is how the flower is surrounded by other vegetation - makes it look even more like it's lit from within, a burning little lantern among the wildflowers! Am I the only one who sees an angel's shape in the flower?

LOVELY! I love how it's almost monochrome. Perfectly calm lighting even with the force of the sun, and a very balanced composition. Awesome!
Your Flora-gallery is also a pleasure to look at.
May I ask what kind of equipment you used for this? I've only recently become interested in such details, in the hopes of managing to take some decent shots myself one day. Though ultimately I believe it's more important when, where and how the photo is taken than what kind of a camera and settings were used for it. Never hurts to ask anyway, I guess! (:
