Deb and I drove 50km out to Silver Islet last evening to catch the sunset on the mist ... we weren't disappointed!I found an ice-cave under a rock along the shoreline and climbed right in. (I can't resist a good ice-cave as some of you know
). The low sun was shining through the ice and it was very beautiful in there... like some other world separated from the cold winds outside.
I held my breath because the mist from it was spoiling this hand-held shot

that is amazing, i never come across these where i live along lake michigan, but thats proly cause i can never dress warm enough to explore when its so cold out..

yes they are..I unfortunately don't have any great huge areas of undeveloped lake front to explore though..im in between two major metropolitian cities, so everything is built up on Lake Michigan
