Terran Light Cruiser: Tundra Class

The humans of the Outsider universe lag behind the other major races, with only a handful of worlds and well behind the Loroi and Umiak races in technology, they would stand little chance in a confrontation with either major power. Armed with a mix of lasers and railguns the Terran warships would be under fire from Loroi or Umiak plasma weapons long before they could hope to score a serious hit on any advanced warship.

The cruiser pictured here is a touch over 200 meters long, armed with heavy the standard mix of lasers and railguns as it's standard weapons. It also mounts a powerful Particle cannon developed as a smaller, more easily constructed alternative to the Mjolnir Particle Beam Cannon. The ship doesn't have the same firepower as most Terran cruisers, but it's spinal mount gun fives it an advantage over destroyers which lack the heavy punch of the spinal mount.

I am working on my blender skills..so I put my practice session to good use. I cant quite match the style and shapes of the ships in the comic series but was able to get fairly close. Texturing is still my biggest problems..so the textures are a bit basic, and lack any hull markings or insignia.

Oddly enough, when I took some measurements and did some calculations this ship falls in the weight range of Traveller warships of the same class...with some minor tweaks it could be built using the Standard rules for Traveller with no real issues. At 20K displacement tons, it is about the smallest ship that can mount a spinal mount under the rules. looking over Ariochs game world info..which there is an impressive amount of...his vessles could be easily built using the existing rules..and with the new revision coming out it would be even easier ..

I still have an Umiak ship to finish, although the heavy use of curved shapes is giving me a real headache...
