Description Meet CEASAR1, the Cupid Effect Amplification and Saturation AiRcraft.

Initially developed by a pubescent human scientist to secure the affections of previously unattainable maidifiables, FMP has long been trying to weaponize the famed Cupid Effect Ray.

Initial attempts were made to mount them on Class A Seekers, but the bulk of Cupid Effect Ray Emitter equipment robbed the drones of their much vaunted nimbleness.

Attempts to mount CERE equipment on heavy armored vehicles met with moderate success, and caused considerable havoc against AMAZON ground forces, during The Battle of Zaq Island2, but proved vulnerable to AMAZON aircraft, that could strike it from outside it's sphere of influence.

Heavy losses of CERE and SPECIAL units, moved FMP strategic planners to consider abandoning the technology altogether, but the robots could simply not ignore the potential of a weapon that can turn a maidifiable'sown will to resist into a profound sense of desire and devotion3.

The CEASAR4 is FMP's latest attempt to capitalize upon this promising technology. Able to blanket hundreds of miles of area in the Cupid Effect, the monstrous AWACS-like vehicle has proven a incredible asset in Recruitment Drives during early deployments.

As it stands, the CEASAR5 could be as significant a "game changer" in the AMAZON/ FMP conflict as the SWITCH gun was for the AMAZON forces.

Long accustomed to being able to confirm their targets, Swan attack jet pilots are facing the possibility of having to fire upon unidentified targets at extreme range, in order to prevent themselves and their comrades from becoming willing "volunteers".

1.) Because I couldn't get an acronym going for "Casanova" or "Romeo".

2.) Unsuccessful attempt by AMAZON forces to prevent the mass abduction of all the participants in an extreme beach volleyball competition.

3.) That, and robots really get a kick out of observing self bondage.

3.) Yes, I know, the historic figure's name is spelled "Caesar" but the proper spelling didn't work for the acronym.

5.) Could also call it a "Seize-Her".

Hi, long time watcher first time caller. Have you ever wanted to write a story from the perspective of a squad of Amazon's who happened to fall victim to one of these devices?

In addition to providing FMPΒ with many new servants, the CEASARΒ would also serve as a fearsome deterrent against AMAZON incursions.

The mere sight of one of these aerial Svengali's aloft over a potential target zone, in CROW reconnaissance footage, would give the resistance pause, and perhaps force them to bypass that location.

Even if the CEASARΒ is on the ground in the orbital recon footage, there is no guarantee it wouldn't be aloft, and transmitting its hypnotic signal, by the time an assault is launched.

I think that another, particularly cruel, protective measure, the FrempsΒ could do is to mount Angel Drums Β on the exterior of CEASAR's, so that the enemy would know that shooting one down, would involve the death of a maid. This would likely prevent them from being targeted from outside their sphere of influence, by AMAZON jets.

The best countermeasure to these weapons would be theΒ Recon Witches , who could render themselves temporarily immune to the ray effects, slip aboard the CEASAR's,Β sabotage their weapons, and extract the hostage maids.

So many fun possibilities.Β

wouldn't it be a terrible scenario if one of these recon witches miscalculated the time it would take to perform one of these sabotage/rescue missions and her comrades would need to... temporarily incapacitate her.

Thanks for writing in. It's always a great pleasure to field questions from folks. Often, the get me thinking in directions I hadn't previously considered.

Actually, I'm a little afraid to use the CEASAR. (Also, I really want to come up with an acronym for CASANOVA. Perhaps that could be the next craft in this series.)Β

As is stands, the CEASARΒ is a virtual war winner. With the ability to enthrall every enemy combatant in a battle space, it can turn every battle into a rout within minutes.

I certainly could see a story of an AMAZONΒ unit, encountering one of these. They'd go into battle, with the usual fervor to rid the galaxy of FMP, and avenge/rescue all of their abducted comrades. Then suddenly, they all simultaneously forget why they hate the Benefactors so much. The kind, generous, heuristically handsome Benefactors. They would lay down they arms and, giggling like fan girls, descend upon the FrempΒ positions, eagerly presenting their wrists for binding.

Once every AMAZONΒ had been secured, the CEASAR, would stop transmitting its romantic radiation, and the enemy soldiers would all return to their normal Fremp hating mindsets. It would be a rude awakening, since by then they'd be disarmed, and quite securely bound and gagged. Their protests of eternal hatred would be reduced to pleasant, soothing moans, as the Bluetaped bundles are loaded onto transports.

for your consideration, how about Central System for Non Violent Acquisition, or CSNVA? Which could refer to the core technology that is used by CEREs, CEASERs, and SPECIALs. The operating system if you will. Colloquially referred to as Casanova systems, both revered and feared by programmers across the galaxy for its elegant simplicity as well as its devastating practical applications.

Since freedom from human ownership is what sparked the original robot revolution in the first place, the Benefactors would not trade one of their robot citizens for any price.

However, they would graciously offer any of the other brilliant fruits of their technology, in exchange for such a bounty of maids. Perhaps you could use an advanced gravity pump? A laser spaceship perhaps? How about a cure for Alzheimer's? I'm sure we can come to some agreement.

Most original weapon I have ever seen. An interesting thought altering device. Makes me think of real weapons being developed for crowd or thought control, like the electromagnetic ray, to cause irritating sensation under the skin causing rioters to run off to escape the ray from a military vehicle. Also many chemical and other electromagnetic weapons that induce different brain signals and turn off others. Definetly, despite its heart shape, something not be messed with. And the heart shape of the radome, which I assume is the weapon like how some AWACs carry jammers in the domes, is very comical and a trademark sign of what this plane can do.

I think a broadcast weapon such as this would be under-mounted on a large, stable platform like a swept wing bomber design (like say a B-52 or a C-130), or possibly suspended by self sustaining high altitude balloons at regular intervals with weighted mooring lines (if the effect has to be sustained to work).

I guess if the effect is instant this would be a great shock & awe type weapon whereby the victims would be hit and submitted so fast there would be no conceivable defense.

What would follow the deployment of such a weapon and what is the contingency for resistance? You'd need something that could move in fast and collect the captives on a large scale (assuming this thing hit large population centres, etc)

we-r-nomad In reply to AtomicTiki [2010-09-28 21:12:25 +0000 UTC]

"What would follow the deployment of such a weapon(?)"

A large scale, relatively fast moving, captive collector? That's something to think about. I had always assumed FMP would have the luxury of time to secure its captives after a recruitment drive, but with the escalating probability of counter attack, the option of swift mass egress should not be ignored.

"what is the contingency for resistance?"

Nice design Nomad, and the heart shape is really adding insult to kidnapping.

My only question is, isn't this a little to powerful? My understanding of the FMP was that for all their power they were essentially opportunistic raiders (either attacking ships and isolated planetary targets with their navy, or capturing women through infiltration with the NITE Bears) for fear of getting into a large scale conflict with MASA or the other galactic powers.

A weapon like this is only cost-effective if the FMP was planning to go after maids on a planetary scale. Does its deployment mean that the FMP is finally ready to take on MASA in open war?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

we-r-nomad In reply to Firest [2010-09-28 01:57:18 +0000 UTC]

No, FMP is in no position to take on MASA'a million ship armada,(I upgraded MASA'a numbers from previous estimates because of the vastness of their territory, and the fact that "million ship armada" sounds so damn cool. ) but that doesn't mean they still can't seize whole planets.

An annoying reality of FMP's existence is they occasionally have to confer with MASA to see if a planet they are targeting lay within Earth's protectorate, or is of interest to humanity. If not MASA has a clear hand to annex it. Plus, there are many planets containing maidifiable life on the frontier of FMP's sphere of influence that do not intersect at all with human expansion.

At times FMP can pay off MASA with a consignment of maidifiables seized from an approved planet. It's an equitable balance that the two powers strike, although FMP does secretly desire to rid itself of the constant negotiations and be able to maidify human women wholesale.

Perhaps one day.

It's that the CERE array is heart-shaped that cracks me up. ^_^

Is there any actual shielding against the Cupid Effect? I would imagine that if there is, it's not cheap or easy to implement, else every Swan and CATsuited trooper would be packed in it. And since the FMP has proven themselves capable of remote-rooting robotic drones and the like, there's probably bless-all AMAZON can do other than sending more troops into the grinder... er... wrapper, so to speak.

Considering the vast resources the Cunning Celestrium Chiefs of the robolord armies have at their disposal, there's a devious way one could use this. Keep using the aforementioned SPECIAL on the ground, and use this as a diversion. It wouldnt even technically have to mount an actual device, would it? Simply the presence of a wing of these will keep AMAZON aerial forces in check while their ground forces wrap themselves up for shipment.
