Haha, oh man I think there are a couple of anons who are determined for me to post some Jeice/Zarbon or Jeice/Burter art and keep asking questions like this one. Sorry guys, but they're just not my ships at all. Used to read them all the time, but gone completely off the idea. I feel bad that people want me to draw them, but I have a very specific view of these characters and for me, Zarbon and Jeice will always be "apples and oranges". In my head they have this great "I hate you, but we have to work together so I'll stomach you for now" relationship that might, one day, grow into grudging, unspoken respect bordering on like. But as a romantic pair, I just can't picture it. But kudos to those who do.
Tbh, I'm not really into Jeice slash at all these days - most of the stuff I see transforms Jeice into this simpering uke stereotype and god do I hate that stuff.
Burter/Zarbon on the other hand, bring it on (or even better, Burter/Caithion, love those two <3).

Eugghhh! I feel so terrible for saying this but I am definitely not one of those supporters for Zarbon/Jeice.
I also have only ever felt that they would have this big wall of "I don't like you because _____ and ___" energy.

Ah don't feel terrible mate, we all have our preferences. I'm certainly not a fan of Jeice/Zarbon either, it just doesn't click with me at all.
I totally agree with you, that's how I picture them too. I love writing them together in a platonic "I hate you, but I have to work with you so I'll try and not kill you for now" way. I've always pictured Zarbon as being this intelligent, pragmatic and always on-the-ball character - the type who'd have five back-up plans for his back-up plan, whereas Jeice is the type who prefers to plunge right in and wing it.

Me too! Zarbon just vibes that prince-y, regal feeling to him. At least he'd have his shit together, whereas Jeice would fail at something and then run away.

Lol!!!! I think weve been influenced by DOF a lot. This would never happen in my head-fandom anymore.
Plus never been a fan of m-preg. Ever.
Although, it could work if you were a fan of the Vegetasei Ascendent series...man I wish that had finished. Bloody brilliant.

Mine either. That and I think people who grew up with the Funimation dub!Zarbon have a completely different view of him to the one I have. 
And yeah, I'm not a fan of mpreg either. Weirdly I've seen a lot of Jeice/Zarbon mpreg around. Must be a thing.

Currently reading it again, now that I've reminded myself of it.

Helps my liking that a good chunk of it is told from Zarbon's POV. 
Though I can't find the site where I found her authors notes! Pity because they at least let you kinda know what happens at the end of the story.

Only in the Anon's mind, certainly not in mine. I'm not a big fan of mpreg, but each their own. I think because I grew up with the Ocean dubbed Zarbon (who was sexy as hell!) I have a completely different view of him to Funimation and DBZA watchers.

I have a "to each their own" attitude towards ships, it doesn't bother me at all that some people ship these two together. But I definitely won't be boarding that ship myself any time soon.

To be honest, I don't think it matters what Toriyama intended when it comes to fandom. I mean, surely the point of fandom is to explore things in a series that you didn't get to see, and whether that's a different plot/couple/slash and so forth, that's grand. There's nothing wrong with any of that. I mean, when it comes to Jeice and Zarbon as a pairing, it's not because it's slash that I dislike it. Depending on the couple, I'm all for slash. I'm just not personally interested in a Jeice/Zarbon romantic pairing, that's all.
