Also I had to look at the early pages to check a couple of things for this page and, ah… wow. Well, just shows that this has been a successful experiment in re-learning to draw

To be honest, I never really cared that Lapis wasn't a part of your story.
The way Jasper's running speed is drawn is nice, as she appears to be flying across the beach. The inner monologues are used quite effectively in this page, while ending on a cliffhanger that will lead into the next page. The contrast in their hands is also very nicely done, and the flashback is a nice touch. Jasper's expression of horror at the end shows that yes, the Crystal Gems are still quite extreme. Jasper's regret is also drawn nicely.
Overall, this is a great continuation of this comic.

I'm glad to hear somebody say that XD It's the most common question I've gotten and I just didn't have anything for her to do in the plot, so I didn't want her there to just hover in the background.

That's a huge thing in her character development that I obviously had no way to plan for in the context of this story before, so I'm not going to try to jam it in sideways now. Since Amethyst is in her old clothes too, the most natural split between canon and this AU is that Jasper's attack during Crack the Whip took place when Garnet and Pearl were present, and they beat her into the ground, then she grabbed Peridot somehow and the stuff in the flashback at the end of chapter two happened instead of her corruption

I haven't commented before but this comic has made me cry and all. It features the redemption of one of my favorite characters and the fake death of my absolute favorite. The bits of future vision were terrifying. This comic is beautiful.

"Book ends" is a term for when a story ends in a similar way it began, like with events that are very much like something that happened in the beginning, or in the same place - but things are different because of what has happened in the plot until that point

As for your comic, it is very good. I've been enjoying it since the first time I saw it. And I'm willing to bet that they went full on Alexandrite on her. Poor Jasper.

I agree completely. There's no way her arc will end like that, there's too much left. A character doesn't get to drop a bombshell like that and then get shoved on a bus. Well, they might in a badly written show, but SU isn't one of those

Psha. Centipeedle? And that was just a first serious attempt. Seriously, leaving her arc like that would be incredibly shitty writing, and the Crewniverse are better than that. Corruption has been a thing since the very first episode even though we didn't know about it then, they're gonna have to do something about it sooner or later, and Jasper is probably going to be the pathway to that.
