not really a joke here... just how i've always felt. yet there is some humor to it...

polonius' death.... was lame.

hamlet: *STAB!!!*
polonius: o, i am slain!
gertrude: ....
hamlet: .....
polonius: *DEAD*

...and the play goes on, with polonius dead on the floor.
everyone else dies in a more interesting way! EAR POISON! DROWNING! POISON SWORDS! come on willie! >8U

i really like drawing this "series"... it's my love of hamlet... meets my love of doodling.

yet another doodle as a gift to my english teacher X3

Ah, my favorite out of all of your Hamlet scenes xD
I look at these when I get tired of drawing Hamlet for my English teacher.

Serves you right, Polonius, for having such useless last words...
And I love how, after he's killed, no one really cares much. They're all just like, oh, right, whatever. <3 Hamlet!

I love how you draw them! They look so quirky and different! Especially the eyes. They rule!

I concur with the lameness. Back in high school, Polonius's death triggered a "read your favorite death scene" competition in class because, seriously, if you're gonna die, you should probably announce it before you do.

this is awesome. this is seriously awesome sauce.

Paris of R/J had the EXACT same line.

Oh! I am slain!

...No, really?

I can top that, though. In "Macbeth", Macduff's son has the greatest lines:

Son: Thou shag-haired villain!

Murderer: What, you egg! (stabs kid)

Son: He has murdered me, mother!

when i was in macbeth, we had great fun with that scene.

shakespeare is the king of redundant lines.

It was down to the fact that stage directions weren't invented until the 1600s. So you'd have people saying stuff like "I am walking over here, and sitting down". Muppetry.

Ahahahah EAR POISON! Yeah... My friends and I made constant jokes while reading Hamlet this year. Particularly about Polonius. "O, I am slain!" has kind of become a catchphrase for us.

Ha, I love it. It's true, too! They just... keep talking, and he's just sort of dead on the floor. I am so glad you brought up the fact that he was stabbed behind a curtain, because that was pretty lame on Mr. Shakespeare's part.

Yeah... I love Hamlet doodles.

Magnificent.

This brings a huge smile to my face, but to some point you're very right, people in literature are supposed to die noble deaths.
