The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde

This. This here- Was the LARGEST traditional project I've ever taken on.
For the final project of my course, I was able to do a large project of whatever I desired; so I drew an illustration of my favourite novella: "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde".
Somehow Hyde managed to slightly resemble the stage musical interpretation (namely Hasselhoff)- Probably because I must have watched it fifty-thousand times while I worked.
Sketching was 25hrs in Photoshop CS3 then it was transferred onto the illustration board with graphite. The inking was 10hrs, and the other 30+ were dedicating to colouring this beast x___x; (Everything except the sketch was done in five days, as was mandated by the assignment).
Got 100% and had lots of fun teaching my classmates and teacher about markers and showing some basic techniques.
Not completely happy with out it turned out, but I ran out of time :c

I've never watched Jekyll and Hyde, nor have I read the book-- but I saw an animatic of the number "ALIVE" and I had to look for more stuff.
This is fucking amazing! Goddamn. Mr. Hyde could really use dental insurance, though. Also mental health care, but that's neither here nor there. You completely deserved that 100%. I'm almost scared to see how much your art has improved since 2009...
...Not enough to not actually check it out, of course, but still.

Out of the 4 main scientists, (Frankenstein, Moreau, Jekyll, Griffin, {The Invisible Man}), he was the dumbest/most foolish. What he was trying to prove is that each human, though it may not seem so, is bipolar, or has a dormant side to their personality. Of course that is true. Think about a human who tries to stay calm and not show aggression. That person may seem peaceful, but that doesn't mean inside, they're boiling like a volcano. We often choose to unleash/reveal that dormant side. When Jekyll drank his serum, he lost control of that ability.

Island of Dr Moreau, a book by H.G. Wells and a film adaptation starring Marlon Brando, Val Kilmer, and David Thewlis I believe.
