Description
now you too can enjoy a "Trading card" so to speak of everyone's favorite stuttering madman here playing the role of Dr. Jekyll. The brushes I forget where I got but if someone wants them or knows who made them I'll give them credit. as for the Polka song... well... if you've seen the old black and white Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde movie, you'll get that joke.version of Newt: Dr. Jekyll (Newton Jekyll)
Age: 35 ((appears around fifty or so from over illness)
Bad Habbits: Excessive Drinking (Mostly to drown out Raven telling him what a terrible person he is)
Personality: Standard shy stuttering Newt afraid of his own shadow
Raven: Still the split personality, but this time in the form of a beastly Hyde in the spirits of LXG
you should see me dance the polka.....

The movie was pretty cheezey, but the comic..dear lord...It was just plain wrong O.o. I just love Jekyll and Hyde. I think I like the stories I make up for them better than the movie. I just liked the idea of Hyde not really being the bad guy he's alway potrayed as. I could care less about the whole "plot" thing XD. I havn't seen the orginal Jekyll and Hyde movie, but I have read the book several times.

I like it very much, but if you ask me, his hair should've been dark red (like in LXG).
But you know what? It hardly matters, because this drawing rocks, and for that, it's goin' into me faves!

his hair is black because it's my original character DRESSED like Jekyll, not actually Jekyll himself XDD

[after I saw your Teatime picture, I had to trail through your gallery for more DiscWorld, but then I found THIS. You are amazing]
First of all, Newt is so cute [yeh, after a few minutes of gallery peeking, I've picked up some pictures of him, and aww he's adorable] and makes a wonderful Jekyll! OK THAT'S FREAKY. A song from Jekyll and Hyde the muscial JUST came on my playlist. SORRY. I'm talking about the picture RIGHT NOW.
I love how skinny he is. And his adorable face. And and. The way you included the "you should see me dance the polka" lyrics. Seriously. you're amazing. Lovely picture, very well composed!

that's where the song comes from. ^^ The movie is the 1940's version- it's been rereleased on DVD in a double pack with the old silent version. ^^ (Which I still haven't gotten the oomph to watch yet XD I'm silent-filmed-out after my film class is over. lol) but if that helps to find it, I hope you can! It's a real classic. ^_^ as for the picture, thank you. ^^ I always liked how the coloring came out on this one, even if the lineart was terrible. ^^'

I'll probably figure this out in a few minutes or so, but who's Newt? And why is he posing as Dr. Jekyll? And...trading card? Hmm, I shouldn't have read anything--that way I could just enjoy the picture!

Bilious In reply to orangecaribou [2004-05-10 23:38:27 +0000 UTC]
lol Newt is my origonal character- he takes up about 90% of my gallery in some form or other... the whole him as Jekyll thing started up as a sort of inside joke between a bunch of us as did the whole "Trading card" thing.... if you don't get it, don't worry about it.
lol
