thank god.i did not come up with this, i only made the design and thought i'd share so that people would see how fortunate they are.

Wow. Just...wow.
Such a sobering message, displayed in a fairly simple, yet eye-catching fashion. While it's all very powerful, the last part had the greatest impact on me...I can't remember when I couldn't read, and and trying to put myself in the shoes of someone who can't is virtually impossible.
Sorry for such a pitiful comment, but I felt that I must say something about such a wonderful piece and I didn't want to just fave and run.

often we take things for granted because we don't know what it's like to be without them.
we've all done it at some point (including myself), but that's why i made this. to remind myself and many other people of how blessed they are.

I will say your works look very nice, and I like the look of this piece of work. Before I even read it I got the feeling that it had a lot to say and not a lot of time to say it, making me want to pay closer attention.
Your use of many different fonts to gives it a chaotic feel with many voices trying to be heard, that is supported by the non uniform blocking of the different parts and out of focus and busy backdrop. I think it is a creative way to keep that initial impression as I was reading. (most professors would tell you 'no' to more than three fonts in a single piece and that longer symmetrical blocking for easier reading is how to best keep the reader reading!)
Also your creative use of the parentheses in the lighter background blue was a great subtle way to separate the two thoughts as well as draw the readers eye to the next part without them noticing. The arrows in the same colour as the font is not so subtle and gives a feeling of being more forced to follow than flowing with a conversation.
I see that you highlighted the vivid words in the one part to draw our eye to them and make them almost play out in the readers mind. It drove the thought of I am glad that I don't have to live with that, or any of them.
I Like the way that you stressed the powerful numbers in your text where you did, drawing attention to it also makes it seem more credible, and I personally felt that in this piece's form it was a great way to give the statement a very authoritative feel. When the largest text in the points of the bottom half was the "You are more ___" it changed to feeling to as though it was an opinion. Even though a solid figure like "3 billion" is more powerful than a proportionate value like "8%". I think you were using the larger size of text to stress the fact that the reader is luck, fortunate, and blessed in the second half, but that is not the feeling I got.
I like the medium and the way it is presented as a whole.
However I feel it is to bad that your efforts to bring people spirits up and all of the finer details that you worked into this piece will be overshadowed by the history of the use of this message as a motivational tool to drive donations by a number of different charities. I have seen that some others on DA have discredited your intended message thinking you are trying to guilt them. Perhaps a "Did you know? You are richer than 75% of people if you... " as an opening to start might change the way people receive it.
I would like to hear your thoughts on what you were going for if I am off base on any of my thoughts, comments or suggestions.

Well, i tried many different fonts before i settled on what i used and even then i wasn't completely satisfied. i like what you said that, that it gives a chaotic feel, i think it adds meaning.
as for the parentheses, i used them because i like that they could sort of direct the reader to the next point, makes it a bit less messy. and i tried doing the arrows in light blue but i felt it faded in the background too much. the arrows were way smaller than the parentheses so i had to use another way to make them show.
the highlighting was intended to stress on the severity of those situations, so i'm glad that you can see that.
the larger font size for specific things was used to try to implant a message. also if you saw this picture as a thumbnail, you would see those phrases and wonder: why am i more blessed? why am i luckier? and why am i more fortunate? it's sort of a way to grab attention to the poster. don't get me wrong, i'm not just trying to popularize my artwork. but when i found this message, it sort of changed me, it cheered me up and it made me more aware of what's going on in the world while i just sit there. it's the same for the beginning. the beginning ("if you have") was in such large font to also attract people's interest - because as we all know, people are interested with things that may have to do with themselves. nevertheless, i agree with what you said, adding something like "did you know" might have made people feel like someone is talking to them rather than attacking them with words; i know a lot of people felt like they were being guilt trapped by this or something of the sort.

oh and what i was going for was something plain, but pleasing to the eye. i also wanted something clear and easy to read, and i chose those colors because i thought calm colors make the text more friendly. i was mostly just looking to make someone's day better, really XD

Have you taken any media studies(print, visual, design, digital, etc)? If not you have got a really good handle on what you can do to lead the eye.
If you have then it is nice to know that some others out there are willing to toss out the pre-canned formula!
