Woo! Finally, I did it. I drew the entire cast of Lupin III as gargoyles. XD
When I saw the subject "Drive" I instantly thought of Lupin's 1928 Mercedes Benz SSK.
So I decided to make a gargoyle-ish version of this pic here [link] , which I scanned from the inside of the DVD sleeve for Secret of Mamo. NOT one of my favorite Lupin movies, mind you. In fact, out of all the Lupin movies I own, I think I like that movie the least. BUT I really liked this picture, so I recreated it.
Funny how Secret of Mamo is the only movie that was dubbed by the same people that did the series and the video game. Of all the movies they could've dubbed, why the crappy one? >=/
Oh well.
Now, just so you know. I suck at drawing cars, so I DID NOT draw this car. I took the original picture into Illustrator and retraced it, and I used the color scheme I'm most familiar with (the gold with black fenders, instead of orange with red), because I can do that.
The logo in the corner I had to recreate from a door hanger I downloaded from LupinTheThird.com
I tell you it was hell trying to find a font that was anywhere close to the one they used in the logo. =/
But it's a good thing I have thousands of fonts at my disposal.
So, yeah! Here it is! From left to right, we have Inspector Zenigata, Goemon Ishikawa, Fujiko Mine, Arsene Lupin III, and
Jigen Daisuke.

Basically, my version of Jigen is a crossover between Jigen from the anime "Lupin the 3rd" and the Disney cartoon "Gargoyles".

Oh Wow, I didn't realize you were the one who did this. Well it seems I have to do something more my own here to get more recognized. Cause I do these recreations for fun, but they don't seem to be catching on as much as they were originally.

Actually, this is the second time I've drawn Pops.
It's the first time that I've colored him.
It's the first time I'd drawn Goemon and Fujiko.
It's the third time I'd drawn Lupin, second time he's been colored.
And it's the umpteenth time I'd drawn and colored Jigen.
lol, He can't take a vacation, cuz he'd spend the whole trip worrying where Lupin has gone. XD

Odd, I could have sworn I faved this back when it was posted... but it didn't show it faved for me... eh it is now. Still love this one, wish I could have caught more Lupin, always loved watching it when I could catch it on Cartoon Network. It's too bad thought that I seemed to start always catching the same episodes I'd already watched.

I like how it came out, but why is Lupin a pinky colour? I noticed you said he was pink in the fanfic, but seeing him as a gargoyle made me realize how.. oddly cool he looks.

I was trying to go for a light red color. Something to go with his red/green/pink jacket without completely clashing with it. =/
It just ended up looking like pink.

Love the way the car is accurately drawn. Very nice. The little winged characters are intriguingly as well. Overall a pleasant work of art.
