Description Oh noes! She stoles it!
Where did she go?!
Yessiree bob. I'm such a dork.

Happy Independence Day!

I came up with this little thingy a few months back and thought it was pretty funny.
Originally, I only had her stealing the Declaration, but then I thought, "You know what? This is Carmen Sandiego we're talking about here. She'd probably take the building, too."
So there you have it. (a letter opener)

Oh yes, gotta love the signatures on the Declaration there. lol

Edit: Giving credit where credit is due. I KNEW I forgot something.
The picture of the Capitol Building is not mine.
I googled a hi-res photo and stuck it into the comic so Carmen could steal it.
I've never even been to DC, so this photo is most definitely not mine.
Not sure who took the picture. This particular photo is in a lot of places, and none of these places say who the photographer was. =/
EVERYTHING else I made myself.
Even the ridiculously huge robot hand.
Although I put that together using some webgraphics I found somewhere online.

Nah, Lupin doesn't go after these sorts of prizes.

But if he knew it were in danger of being stollen by HER...He often does that sort of thing, right?

I don't really see Lupin as being that sort.
Unless she herself challenged him personally.

.....Possible....Might have stollen something he was going to steal first and then challanged him....Like in Ocean's Twelve or something....

Man....C.S VS Lupin III....I would go see THAT movie.

Well, Carmen and Lupin have VERY different tastes in loot, so it would like winning the lottery to have them going after the same thing.

Lupin's not into national treasures unless said nation no longer exists. (i.e. The Roman Empire, Atlantis, etc)
And even then, he usually goes after objects that have mythical qualities to them or are owned by some rich asshole that he deems doesn't deserve to own what he owns.
He almost never takes landmarks.
Plus, he's a gentleman. He doesn't steal from people he deems to be decent.

Carmen, on the other hand, specializes in national treasures and landmarks of currently thriving nations. (i.e. America)
She takes the most historical objects she can find, just because she can.
And she doesn't care about the moral issues of the theft.

..........but if they DID somehow miraculously go after the same prize, I'm sure the encounter would be VERY interesting.

...I don't know...

As we recall from "Bye Bye Liberty", he DID steal the statue of Libery.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Whimsy-Floof In reply to PhantomGirl [2010-04-16 12:22:53 +0000 UTC]

He also stole the giant Christ statue once (using ONE average-sized helicopter..... defy physics much?), but that was only because he was using it to hide all the money he'd stolen earlier in the episode.....
I don't remember him stealing the Statue of Liberty tho...
Where in the series was "Bye Bye Liberty"?

It's a movie...or TV special...Look it up on Wiki.

I remember the Christ Statue one! That was was LOL! Zenigata was so happy. It was a shame to disapoint him.

I'll have to check that one out.
I've not seen many of the specials that haven't been dubbed into English, besides the newer ones.
I'll have to look into that one to see what the situation was.
Cuz normally that's not his schtick.
He doesn't go taking landmarks for the sake of taking them.

As I said was the case with the Christ Statue.
It was a means to something else, albeit a totally ridiculous one.

Same. The game shows (both World and Time) were awesome. The cartoon wasn't too bad, but it was too cheesy, often action-driven, and to be honest, lacked a certain something.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Whimsy-Floof In reply to TherealRNO [2010-01-17 19:59:29 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it's called development.
The cartoon had none to speak of. =/

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TherealRNO In reply to Whimsy-Floof [2010-01-17 20:09:08 +0000 UTC]

Well, to be honest, neither did the game shows. They were pretty much the same thing constantly.

At least the cartoon did develop Carmen's character somewhat, showing bits of her past and showing that she does have remorse for certain actions.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Whimsy-Floof In reply to TherealRNO [2010-01-17 20:28:41 +0000 UTC]

Well, game shows can get away with not having much development.
By its very nature, it doesn't NEED it.
If it has any at all, it just adds to what's already there.
I mean just look at all the regular game shows that've been around forever. (Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, etc.)
Almost all of their development happened back when the shows were still brand new.
Otherwise it's been almost identical for all the years they've been on the air.

I didn't watch enough of the cartoon to find out anything about Carmen's past. =/
