Description
I've been working on some Spyro environments. The original trilogy games are so nostalgic to me.Related content

gotta say whats good is the scale of the rings as they are about the same size but they are smaller due to distance as it looks like in the game. The crystals look sharp without looking bulky or distorted. The clouds are nicely drawn in an angle based on a certain point of view. Although its night the atmosphere is very vibrant as the scene can be very active as the game itself is very much about adventure. The crystals, sand, and mist help make the scene much more bright as the scene just gives you the impression that theres no hostiles intentions. Great jobΒ

Hey there, im here from project comment Β !
wow really interesting environment! This reminds me a bit of starry night, he colours work well together, nice touch with the pinky purple bits in the clouds, it brings the pinks and blues together. I can see that you have tried to create a sense of depth in the image, i think that you could make this look more believable by, firstly, making the background a bit darker, it almost looks the same colour as the foreground (lake?) and secondly, as the rings get further away their colour should become more like that of the background, i dont really know how to explain. The furthest away ring should be more blue toned than those at the front if you want to create a better sense of depth. The stylised clouds look amazing and the texture works well on them, you could maybe try experimenting with more than one texture in your image though, again i think that this would help give depth. Ahh this brings back memories, miss playing spyroΒ Β
Β Overall, I love this piece, and of course these are just suggestions

Thank you so much! Yeah, I see what you mean, some atmospheric perspective with the rings would definitely be helpful.

Hey, I'm here from ProjectComment and I find your drawing very unique and awesome, so I thought I'd comment on it.
First off, I just love those crystals. If you asked me for the personal favourite aspect, it would be those crystals. I dig their colour and how it fits the magical surroundings. I love how you've shaded them and especially the highlights make them super realistic and just wonderfully shiny and sparky.
(There's only one little suggestion that comes to my mind: Maybe the crystals would look even better if you added tiny white dots to make them glisten more?)
Next are those purple circles, which I've never seen before in any drawing; which is what also makes it so interesting. (I haven't heard of Spyro before, btw).
Their difference in size deepens the impression of distance and perspective, and it makes the crystals appear bigger. I also love how their colour builds this contrast between all the blue stuff.
The clouds and stars have both got a very unique style; clouds I usually see are softer and fuzzier. It makes this drawing even more interesting, and I really like how they curve up at the edges of the canvas.
There's really not much I could not like here; I love the overall atmosphere this drawing has, I admire the crystals and purple rings, and I find your clouds really interesting to look at!

Thank you so much! I agree with you, I think adding some more glimmer to the crystals would help

Not even having played any of the Spyro the Dragon games, this piece automatically gave me a sense of nostalgia, because it reminded me of similar ice-themed levels from the 90's early 00's--the rings in particular brought to mind Sonic the Hedgheog
But nice composition here, I like the way you layered the painting to the frozen water, to the icecaps, to the swirling clouds, to the sky above
