Description
Free ten dragons in the Artisans world, then find the balloonist. He'll transport you to the next world. I know that you are probably tired of my Spyro submissions--this will be the last one for a bit. Part of the nameless Spyro project that I'm working on. Trying to get the skies down right.

The dreamy, innocent atmosphere of this piece is beautiful and definitely takes me back to playing Spyro on my Gamecube as a kid.
For what could be improved, the air balloon is distracting in being off proportion and a bit too flat. The stripes don't seem to fall how they should. It lacks the same detail and texture the rest of the painting has, which makes it a glaring weak point among everything else - sometimes it can be okay to be a little more relaxed with elements of a piece, but in this case I would say it needs a bit more attention, especially because it's the largest and darkest object in the painting thus very noticeable. It might help to study photos of hot air balloons and pay attention to the way light and shadow interact with the material, and to think about how your environment and light source would work with that material to make it sit more naturally in the piece.
Other than that, Spyro's snout seems to sort of blend into the air balloon, which looks a little strange. A bit more contrast or perhaps a slightly different angle would be a good improvement here. Those are the only two things I see that I would say could really be improved.
Overall, this is lovely and nostalgic and I feel really peaceful looking at it.

Hey there, thank you for the critique! I had a lot of trouble with that air balloon, so I agree with you, it definitely needs another take. I made it too abstract and it doesn't suit the rest of the piece. I will take another crack at it with your advice. I didn't even notice Spyro's snoot, so I will have to address that issue as well. Thanks again!

I struggle a lot with things like that air balloon, that's totally understandable! Especially when you're trying to nail bigger things like the sky, which looks great, things like that tend to escape me when I'm focusing a lot on something else. I'd be excited to see this piece with the air balloon tweaked though because man this is so pretty and calming to look at
