This is so beautiful and adorable! To me it seems more peaceful than lazy, but maybe for dogs, that's the same haha
I really like the soft brush you used and the colours fit very well with it!

Howdy I'm from Β
Love the use of details here, its sort of abstract in a way.Β
The dog looks as if he's a little mountain thanks to the fur pattern,Β along with the blanket seeming like a mixture of a dirt and water landscape. The plants around the room make it further look nature themed interestingly. Though I know its a piece of plant on the other corner with another bed, it looks kind of like a hummingbird to me.Β Cool to have made an indoor room look outdoorsy in this picture. Intentional or not, I find this picture to be very unique.Β
The colors are nice and warm, fitting with the relaxing perspective this lazy pup is experiencing. The tones, shading and coloring feel as if real brushes were used even though this is digital, so good job with that. The textures were done well here, as the dog looks soft, the dog toy squishy, the floor a little rough, and the plants just look so plant-like for lack of a better term.Β
The angle of the art is good as it shows what is necessary, the dog is the subject of the art and we can see that clearly. The lighting is excellent too as it gives further emphasis on the fact it is daytime while this dog is resting.
I say this is a good piece you made here, there isn't anything I can find that needs perfecting in it. You seem like you've got a great grasp on creating line-less art which in my experience isn't too easy without much practice.Β
Have a good day and hope this comment here was helpful feedback. Β Β

R: Hi there! Dropping by from ProjectComment , and here to give a critique! I'm no professional, so take theses opinions with a grain of salt. ;D
I really like this picture, it's very cute and simple. The color palette is personally very pleasing, and the lighting gives a subdued, sleepy atmosphere.
The brush strokes gives a very organic feel, and I love how the dog is peacefully sleeping along side of his dog plush toy (or so I'm assuming that's what it is). I would say that the composition feels rather off, as the primary focus should be either the corgi, or both the corgi and the toy on the side, but the 2 subjects in question are a bit to far apart, so it unclear either or. Their placement doesn't really show much interaction/story between the 2. The eyes kinda follow the dog, then the toy, to out of the page; the toy is a bit too cropped off to be included in the narrative, and not cropped off enough to be a side prop like the pillows on the upper left.
Right now, I'm getting the feeling that the corgi is done playing with his toy companion, or accidentally pushed it away in it's sleep. Either way, it's currently placed in a rather awkward position.
Β
Anyhow, that's my opinion on the picture, and even with that interesting placement, I still love the expression on the little dog. ^^ The foliage is beautifully lit, and that splash of red in the upper right is an nice touch, even if that too could use a bit of a counter-balance. Problems aside, I'll give this picture a 8/10!
Please keep up the good work, and don't ever stop being creative! <3

Thank you so much for taking the time to give a critique! I totally agree with you on the composition--I fought with it through the entire piece. The toy actually wasn't even there originally -- I had to add it in because there was so much negative space that it was throwing everything off. I put it there to give some visual weight to balance out the dog. I agree though, weird cropping, I need to fix that in the future.
Thanks again!

R: You're welcome! I'm glad my critique was helpful. Adding in extra components can be tricky, and it now makes sense why you added in the toy. ^^ Looking forward to your other works, and thanks for being gracious about my critique~!

First of all, the whole art work is just CUTE ! I like the way the little dog is sleeping there and his little blue toy at his blanket is adorable. But most I like the shades your create, they make the art work more realistic and beautiful. Also I like the idea to add some green around the little dog, the plants make me happy I really don't know why but everything just fits togetherΒ Β Β

This has lovely tones of color. And I got a feeling this looks like traditional art before being digitalised.Β
It's still amazing tho

Good mood setting with the lighting. The color pallet is great and has a good balance to it visually. The addition of the plants play well with the homey feel. The only thing I would say is I wish you would have played a little with some darker shades to give it some more contrast. All in all a well done piece. Make me want to take a nap.Β

Thank you so much! Yeah, I definitely could have used some darker values in there, I may take another pass at it soon.
