Art trade with It's her character AnkaaI'm still wondering how to shade a creature surrounded by flames... -.-' And because I didn't figure that out, I shaded it like most of my other pieces. Or infact I didn't, I had to test a bit different way of shading because of those color changes in Ankaa's plumage. And it seemed to work, it saved time and spared some of my nerves AND looks quite good, so I probably will use it later again.
And you probably noticed I was lazy with the background again. I just like starry skies and it somehow did look good with those flames, though the flames itself sucks.
I also had a bit of problems with the line art :/ Ankaa is supposed to have a look like a secretary bird, but does she now look anything like a secretary? Epic failure...
But I hope you still like it...

Wow! I'm very impressed! I took Spanish for four years in high school but my last teacher was so terrible that she didn't only not teach us anything, she *untaught* me. I mean, I seriously forgot everything that I previously learned. I really can't explain it. O_o. So all of my mad language skillz kinda died with that.

I myself had a several years ago one darn English teacher who made me feel really uncomfortable and unwilling to learn anything in her classes. I'm glad I had her as my teacher only for either ½ or 1 year...

Background is good to, if you don't know how do it stars are one of the best ideas
Colors... In some places they could be more orange or red, especialy next purple colors, but your part of thare is better than mine xD

Starry background is almost always a good choice, though it is quite simple... But something in them is so pretty
Yeah, I though also the reddish parts could have been more reddish possibly, and something else also looks funny in them in my opinion. I just don't know what it is

Uih, upea. :3 Liekit on mahtavat, muttei liian liekehtivät mikä on ihan hyväkin asia. Päässä on jotain... epäWPmäistä. Se ei oo enää sellanen pallukka, vaan ihan virtaviivanen ja fiksun näkönen pää.
Siivet on upeat. Etenkin (sen) oikea. Ei edes näytä liian suoralta.
Kamalan ohuet taas sen luut siivissä, mutta enpä nyt keksikään mitään muuta kritisoitavaa. Hienon näköinen se silti on.

Liekit on kököt jos multa kysytään
Siivet on HIRVEÄT. No joo, tuon oikean siiven asento näyttää ihan hyvältä, mutta siinä mulla kävi pienoinen kämmi sitä piirtäessä ja sen siiven anatomia on muuten pyllystä. Annan sulle tehtäväksi etsiä se yks virhe mikä mua häiritsee helkkarin paljon. Sinä kun nuista sulista tiedätkin jotain

Jos se on se vika mitä meinasit niin tajusit varmaan. Niin, ja nyt kun tuli puheeksi toi siipi, niin eipä siinä kyllä kyynärpäätäkään ole että jos siitä lähdetään. x3

En osaa piirtää liekkejä. Tai ehkä erittäin sarjakuvamaisia tuhnuja niin kuin tuossa. Mutta kiva jos tykkäät tuosta väsäyksestä

Kiituksia paljon! ^^ Tuosta tarkasta työstä voidaan olla montaa mieltä, sillä siivissä on "pientä" häikkää mikä siipien anatomiaa tuntevia voi häiritä erittäin paljon -.-' Valitettavasti huomasin itsekin ne häikät vasta kun olin varjostamassa kuvaa...

No noissa siivissä on sellasta häikkää mitä minäkään en ois ennen edes huomannut, mut nyt kun yritän tehdä realistisia siipiä pienimmistäkin peitinsulkien asennosta lähtien oikein niin häiriinnyin mokastani

I also like the eclectus parrot, they're are so cute and have different colors depending on their gender. I wanted one but they cost a whole lot of money.

Yeah, eclectuses are quite expensive... I'd like to get one too, and even if I would have money to buy one of them, I wonder how much a cage big enough for one would cost >.< That's one reason why I decided to take a Pyrrhura Conure, a parrot in a little body but with really big ego
Maybe you can get an eclectus someday... But there's also a whole bunch of pretty parrots which are less expensive

Yup, I also may want a sun conure, but I'm stuck with two canaries right now. They still are awesome though. Somehow I taught both to play dead and fight with my fingers.^^

My canary is about 4 years old and one is the fife canary the other one is the lizard canary. I don't have those expensive red factor ones. I wish I could. Just to inform you I'll be of the web till the early february because of midterm.>.<

I don't remember anything of those fife canaries, I'll check if there's something about them in one of the cage bird books I have. At least I know Lizard canaries

When you say secretary, I imagine women neatly dressed in dress suits. So I'm not sure if a secretary phoenix should look like a real secretary or not. x_X' I have a suggestion for the shading problem. I think it's best to shade the fire around the phoenix as well. It may sound weird but a light shade of blue is a decent color to shade fire with. But not big splotches of blue. I mean like thin barely noticeable lines.

I'm glad you like it. I haven't used that technique since I was a freshman and I was designing a homemade picture. My teacher suggested I used blue to outline the fire and I thought it looked real cool. And yer welcome. ^o^

Aw, thank you. ^o^ But it doesn't have to be with blue all the time. It can be other bright colors such as white. And if the flame isn't orange or the typical colors, you can always use a darker or lighter shade of that color.
