Description This is the second part to a two part short comic about Gaia. What we have here is our sweetheart, Gaia (who is the Earth personified as a young girl) looking down on herself. But we also have the perspective of someone standing on the surface of the Earth, able to see her face in the far off distance.

Imagine waking up every day and just seeing her on the horizon. I'd probably be fine with that myself. I think she's adorable.

Anyway, what do you guys think? Would you prefer it if people couldn't see Gaia's face from her surface?

She may not be a goddess, but she seems like it to those living on her. That's for sure.

Thanks!

Is this on one of her boobs? :3c

Imagine what it's like deep in her cleavage.

It actually is, yeah. And the funny thing is that if you're standing on the surface of one side of her breast, you can actually see the surface of the other breast through the clouds. Gaia's surface is kinda weird that way.

Does she have any land in the furthest depths of her cleavage?

whitestormclouds In reply to NotVerian [2018-03-25 05:34:00 +0000 UTC]

Well, the truth is that all of Gaia's breasts are covered in some kind of landmass. So I'd like to say yes.

It'd probably be pretty dark though in the deep cleavage.

to think how will blow our mind that she's not a super giantess staring at our planet, but that we are on her body and she's staring at a  part of it, maybe a arm, a leg, a breast

whitestormclouds In reply to Mainthegap [2017-07-08 04:04:02 +0000 UTC]

Well if you lived on her your whole life, it might not seem that strange to you. In fact, it's actually stranger for Gaia to have little people living on her than it is for the little people themselves. But it would probably still be mind boggling at times. Though when you consider how our world is a marble spinning through open space, it's really not that much weirder.

ah well that's right, thinking about it, i was imagining the moment when humanity realized it xD
about the marble spinning throught open space, it's true, but still a marble is not a huge pretty lady

Well, environmentalists get an enormous argument weight in this universe... Theists two...

whitestormclouds In reply to NuclearPatato [2017-02-27 03:33:39 +0000 UTC]

Well, in this story the world is definitely more eco-friendly. But it wasn't always that way.

In fact, in the story's lore, between the 1960s and 2010, humans weren't very eco-friendly, and did a lot of damage to Gaia. At this time, she was going through a bit of a punk phase: neither her attitude or appearances seemed all that healthy. But luckily, people changed their attitudes when they saw the damage they were doing to her, and by the year 2030 (when the story takes place) she is a lot healthier  now.

As for Theists, I'm not sure. There are definitely people who worship her like a goddess, but then again, even in our world, there are people who worship celestial bodies like deities. That much hasn't changed.

Anyway, thanks for your thoughts!

I wonder how Gaia would have reacted to Warld War Two. All the insane pollution from mining, weapons manufacturing, battles, Jews turning into soap and nukes...

whitestormclouds In reply to NuclearPatato [2017-03-03 03:22:37 +0000 UTC]

I'm not sure about that last part, but I'm sure Gaia would definitely notice the effects of WWII. Not sure how though: I'll have to think on it.

NuclearPatato In reply to whitestormclouds [2017-03-04 22:22:25 +0000 UTC]

It could play out in many ways but, there is one aspect which could be affected quite dramatically.
America: That is it, Jappain! You are getting the radiation treatment!
Jappain: Not so fast thare! You would not want to upset Gaia with nukes!
America: Damn it!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

whitestormclouds In reply to NuclearPatato [2017-03-05 02:21:37 +0000 UTC]

Naw, they would still nuke them.

But I figure that a nuclear detonation would definitely be powerful enough for Gaia to feel. Perhaps as much as a pinch.

I'm sure if I did do a story regarding Gaia's reaction to the second World War, that would come into play at some point. It's too big an event to ignore.

I wonder what she would think of the Axis and the Soviets.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

whitestormclouds In reply to NuclearPatato [2017-03-06 02:36:56 +0000 UTC]

Probably not much: she's not very politically minded.

Or maybe she is...what if she's a history buff, but only about human history and not cosmic history like what she'd learn in class? I'd have to think on it.

But she typically sees all humans as being equal. So I doubt she'd think of any group as being less than another.

NuclearPatato In reply to whitestormclouds [2017-03-06 21:25:28 +0000 UTC]

Well, yes, I presume that. I suspect she would find the Nazis, the Iron Guard, the Soviets and all the other authoritarian regimes in the Modern Era as scarry.

We'll just have to see in the future where this character goes: whether she'd be a fan of the allies or the axis. Though I'm thinking she'd either lean more towards being neutral or wholy good.

I know God is the real creator of Earth, but if Gaia existed and looked down on us like that. At first I would have been scared, but after she makes that friendly smile, I know I wanna hug her. ^^

whitestormclouds In reply to TokUSA1971 [2017-02-23 02:55:12 +0000 UTC]

Eh, I wouldn't deny that God created Gaia.

That might actually be an interesting idea: have God as a character. After all, Gaia dwells in a galaxy of other planetary humanoids. Maybe God could be the president?

I'll work on the idea.

Anyway, if you lived on Gaia, you'd probably grow up seeing her all the time. It would be the norm. But she is a very pleasant sight to see on the horizon.

Thanks!

Wow, I've given you an idea? That's cool. Good luck. ^^ I bet the closest to hugging her if you lived on her is hugging the ground, right?

whitestormclouds In reply to TokUSA1971 [2017-02-23 03:32:44 +0000 UTC]

Eh, you'd get a better experience from just buying a Gaia body pillow (They exist in this world) and hugging that instead. But whatever suits you.

I get huuuuuge Xenoblade Chronicles vibes from this and i love it

how have things been going fleshing out a story?  As someone whose been trying to create an alternate world myself i know its extremely difficult

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

whitestormclouds In reply to wildboar222 [2017-02-23 02:56:46 +0000 UTC]

Really? I actually haven't played Xenoblade before. I've considered it though.

I've kinda been developing it on and off. Piece by piece. When people like TangleGTS request Gaia art, that's usually when I add more to the story.

But this is definitely not the first story I've ever created, so I am aware of how difficult it can be to design a completely new world. But it's a process, and so far everything is coming together nicely.

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm sure Sailors in the Colonial age have tried it many times before. But yeah, the distance from there to the rim of her neck may be as far away as the distance between New York City and Warsaw, Poland. That's just a guess though.

Thanks!

I'd probably live somewhere between her toes she looks so kind and gentle

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

whitestormclouds In reply to Iamborede [2017-02-23 03:34:35 +0000 UTC]

That is possible, but her feet are pure skin: just like her hands and face.

You're not the first person to say that though: a couple people seem to want to live on Gaia's feet. Maybe I should just make her feet have landmass as well.

Then again, you probably wouldn't see much sunlight down there, on account of how often she wears shoes. But she does wear flipflops pretty often so maybe it wouldn't be so dark.

Iamborede In reply to whitestormclouds [2017-02-23 03:38:04 +0000 UTC]

When she has shoes on it would be like night-time, and when she takes them off its day! her colossal, lovely feet would be an incredible place to live ^-^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

whitestormclouds In reply to Iamborede [2017-02-27 03:39:15 +0000 UTC]

Well, I guess I can get behind that.

I've thought about it some though: I guess I could consider making her feet have landmass as well. That way people could live on them. However, her feet are at her most southern part of her body, which means they'll be where Antartica is. Do you think you'd be okay living in such a cold place?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Iamborede In reply to whitestormclouds [2017-02-27 03:47:32 +0000 UTC]

I think her feet would be nice and warm they would keep us toasty and make the area habitable. In return we would keep her feet soft and smooth. And during the winter/night season she can wear titanic shoes to keep her feet warm.

whitestormclouds In reply to Iamborede [2017-02-27 03:48:48 +0000 UTC]

Eh, perhaps. I guess her ankles would be the cold parts then.

But if her feet were fleshy, they'd probably be warmer. Not much, but warmer. After all, she does like to wear socks.

I'll think on it.

Yep: that was the idea initially. Though I'm always willing to adjust the character's design from time to time to accommodate new suggestions.

Thanks! Gaia's story is the kind that I wanted to tell with very few speech bubbles, so the multi-part drawings are good for giving you that storytelling edge with little reading. And also, that's like twice the drawings so it's a double for the watchers.

I appreciate your thoughts! Thanks!

Nice!

I like how you managed the blue fadeaway there- she really looks very far away...

Well, until you look down.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

whitestormclouds In reply to Tangle-Giantess [2017-02-23 03:00:55 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!

The blue fadeaway was definitely the most important part. Because Gaia's head is supposed to be hundreds of miles away and thousands of miles in size, but still clearly visible from that far away. I wasn't sure the best way to illustrate that (we don't really have much of a reference of that in real life except with the moon during day time.)

So for now, the blue fade will do.

Thanks!
