Niles has a mommy now 🥹

A bit late after Revelations for this, I know. Don’t remember what got me to get around to it now, honestly. But anyway, consider this my introduction to yet another SMG4 AU: New Testament, a WDG4 offshoot dedicated to rewriting the Cosmology Saga. I was split on what to do with Genesis/Revelations in regards to WDG4; between just adapting it, cutting it out, or setting aside a separate universe for it. I went with the latter for the following reason: Genesis/Revelations, for all its faults, introduced some concepts and characters I genuinely want to explore the potential of… but as a story where Melony is one of the main characters, the arc effectively can’t play out in WDG4, where Melony exists as the human form I made for her before Human Melony was canon- as in, a completely different character with a completely different life. No relationship with Axol, no Fierce Deity powers, no reason to go to Omnia Academy.

Among the changes New Testament makes is the God Box being turned into an actual character, for the sake of making Niles’s backstory and motivation more coherent. To that end, this is Virella: a divinely powerful but dark and malicious entity, who created and planted Niles in a plot to undermine the SMG system and destroy the Glitchese Multi-Verse.
