I'm trying for number one for sure. Will we get docked if we want to end up using the foal for pleasure? Mainly trails, lessons, etc. Enter in some competitions though. Oh, and will we get docked if we change the height to 14 hands or so? The breed smallest is usually around 14.2 hands.

What can Saddlebreds be trained in? I haven't a clue about the breed.

They are very versatile and can be trained in almost anything. They are best known for saddleseat and driving, but also do well in jumping, dressage, western, trail riding, pleasure, sidesaddle, eventing, and much more. They can also be taught to rack, which enable them to go in gaited classes.

Wow, very cool. I had no idea of that. Like you said I was only aware that they excelled in Saddleseat/driving. They are a terribly elegant breed, and considering the obvious versatility I will definitely be bidding.
